  1. Done. I’ll have some of that as I’m going to be looking for an unlined fretless in the next six months as well as looking to get my first Sire.
  2. My trio of Warwick loveliness. recently got back into Warwick after many years away and lovin the ownership experience again. the thumb dirty Blonde came from desmondpot and the Streamer LX Jazzman came from warwickhunt.
  3. @moley6knipeThanks for explaining it better than I could have done. bass is now on hold pending trade
  4. Yes the very one and thanks. It’s a great bass, I just struggle with having this and my MusicMan Sabre which both have two humbuckers and a five way switch. Sabre switching is slightly different (I think the Dimension coil settings are similar to a Stingray HH) but they’re close enough for me that one has to maybe go. I’m also currently going into one of my periodic sabbaticals from my usual Fender/MusicMan/G&L love in and looking to try something different (for me) Keir
  5. Rather taken with Warwick again. Trade for Warwick with cash either way.
  6. Traded my G&L CLF L-1000 for Trev’s Warwick Thumb Dirty Blonde. Met Trev and did the handover in person and had a good chat. Great guy to deal with and a credit to Basschat. The Thumb was in mint condition and exactly as described. Came with all the extra bit too ! Hope the G&L works out in your band, the Thumb was superb at my band rehearsal. All the best Keir
  7. Shame (for me) you’re not up for trades. I would have loved this but skint lol
  8. G&L Tribute LB-100 had the biggest neck of all the basses I’ve owned. Bigger still than the Tribute L2K’s from my memory of owning those in the past. Loved the look and sound of the LB-100, just couldn’t get on with the neck at all. I’ve also found that the MusicMan Classic Stingray I had earlier this year and the Classic Sabre I own now are both a bit on the chunky side as well. Not uncomfortably so but bigger than regular versions of the same models I’ve owned before.
  9. Traded away this afternoon. Many thanks to those who offered trades, expressed an interest etc Keir
  10. More desirable ones pictured but that red L-1500 is stunning!😍😍
  11. The one with the Markbass Preamp? Very nice!👍🏻 I had a couple of Cort 5 strings (GB75s) which were wonderful. Also owned three GB four strings, equally as capable and I still hanker after a B5 plus AS RM with the Markbass preamp and roasted maple/panga panga neck. Good luck with the five. Worth persevering with imo Keir
  12. Thanks, the L-1000 is a really sweet bass just need something I’m going to use it for. Maybe if I’m successful with auditions for the Elvis tribute act I’ve applied for, I can maybe use it with that (thinking Jerry Scheff..) Ye seen your G&Ls as well as your SR5 and Dimension you had up till recently. Pretty much the same things I like!
  13. Just watched the video for this. Very cool looking and sounding P/J. With this one and Charvel with their San Dimas pro mod basses, Fender have got some really tasty looking sans pickguard P/J offerings in their line up. GLWTS!
  14. I had one of these at the same time as my SRFF806 fan fret. The singlecut Cerro was a lovely thing. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I should have kept it. GLWTS! edit: small world, before moving to Shropshire this summer, I used to pass through Galston from Mossblown just outside Ayr, on my way to work in Newmilns.
  15. I had tort on a 90s honeyburst USA Sterling which is the same light burst as on both your Rays and I loved it. Just goes to show if we all thought the same, one mans meat, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, variety is the spice of life etc etc On a side note I’m GASsing for a Stingray 5/Ray 35 again lol
  16. Looks really good but…sunburst/tort/rosewood every day of the week for me.
  17. Trade I was after has fallen through Looking for a similar condition 4 or 5 string MusicMan, Fender USA Dlx Jazz or Precision, Sandberg Caifornia, Warwick Streamer, Spector Euro, Lakland 44/55-02 Dlx, WHY? Keir
  18. Thanks for the info. Original post now updated. Keir
  19. G&L CLF Research L-1000 For sale or trade is my 2018 CLF Research L-1000 ‘wunkay’ . Showroom condition, even still smells new, bedroom use only, great player which is very light edit: weight is 3.74kg/8lb 4oz Sounds huge for a passive bass when switched to the OMG setting. All three positions are highly usable. All in, a superb reissue of an iconic bass. Selling as its not the tone I need for my band(s) and it is just sat in its case. I’m ideally looking for a nice USA StingRay or Sterling or Fender USA jazz or Precision Deluxe. Prefer a rosewood board. Will consider other basses eg Sandberg, Spector Euro, Warwick Streamer, Lakland 44-02 WHY? Your bass should be in excellent condition with no issues. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton, Shropshire near Stoke or can travel within reason to meet. Will post if buyer arranges their own courier and level of cover. Main Details: *Basswood body finished in Pharaoh Gold Firemist. *Gloss finished CLF slim C profile maple neck with Chechen (Caribbean rosewood) 9.5” radius fingerboard with 1.625/41.3mm nut width and bone nut. *Original G&L headstock shape. *G&L MFD humbucker with passive electronics (passive treble and bass) with three way toggle (Parallel/Single Coil/OMG) *G&L Saddlelock bridge and G&L ultra-lite tuners with tapered aluminium string posts. *G&L deluxe case. *G&L certificate of Authenticity and Build sheet. Specs and info on the G&L homepage https://glguitars.com/product/clf-research-l-1000/ ——————————————————— Ed Friedland plays an identical model to this with the Mavericks. Here he is reviewing a few of the CLF Research L-1000 options including the Pharaoh gold https://youtu.be/cB0fTDeRL-Y ——————————————————— My pics don’t really do the colour justice. The colour is more like in the following video thanks for looking Keir
  20. Saw this earlier on a G&L group. Looks sweet, sure it will sound the same though there’s no coil switching on the MFD pickups? love the colour too but not so keen on the painted neck on this one
  21. Guess it’s what you’re used to. I actually find it easier to play at a faster tempo where the humbucker is as there’s less string give. but I like the extra options the Sabre gives me
  22. you can’t go wrong with black/maple. Best look on a Stingray imo I swapped my natural Classic StingRay for a 3TS Classic Sabre. As good as the Ray was I have no regrets.
  23. On a MM/J set up on a Cort GB75 I had, the humbucker seriously overpowered the neck single J but by dropping the humbucker and raising the single coil, I got them sounding balanced in output when isolated as well as when both were on together. Same deal with a G&L SB-2 which is a P/J. On that bass the I’ve read that the bridge J pup is meant to be used to add a bit of colour to the split P MFD in the neck but I managed to get a good output balance between them both. Worth half an hour or so experimenting imo
  24. Fantastic! Looks super, wish I had either the funds or something you’re after. GLWTS!
