  1. Currently moving house and everything is all over the place. I’ll get the weight to you asap. It’s not the lightest bass on the block what with the bubinga and wenge but it’s not stupidly heavy either.
  2. These are great! GLWTS!
  3. Glad it’s sold. I’m less than an hours drive from the seller and my brain was hurting with how I would justify buying it. ^^Absolutely love this pic. The combo makes for a really pretty looking Sterling. And my congrats to the buyer. 🙂 Keir
  4. *On hold trade pending* 1995 Corvette Standard with bubinga body and wenge neck and fingerboard with bell brass frets. MEC dynamic correction J single coils with passive electronics (vol/pan/tone)2 piece Warwick bridge and the original brass just a nut with the individual threaded saddles as well as recessed straplocks. Bass comes with the Warwick rockbag and straplocks. The truss rod cover on the bass says Corvette Proline which I’m guessing is the wrong cover as this bass fits the spec of a standard. Wenge neck is in great condition and doesn’t have the volute at the neck where the neck meets the headstock. plays and sounds superb, been incredibly well looked after for its twenty six years Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton, Shropshire or can drive up to an hour to meet etc. Would post if buyer arranges their own courier, level of cover etc. £695
  5. Always liked ou7shined’s posts. Had the privilege of meeting him at the Moffat bass bash way way back (2009?) haven’t seen him on here for years bigbeefchief - that name takes me back - in a non bass more off topic sort of way. Liked his posts too. Genuinely funny guy imo
  6. Yes I bought this one in July
  7. That colour is amazing. Seen a few of those on talk bass selling fast. Reminds me of the trans blueburst maple necked Sabre hanging in one of the Glasgow music shops about twenty five years ago. I still think of that as one that got away. dr T’s Neptune blue is another blue Sabre that looks lush. black sabres always look great too.
  8. Extremely🙂 saw yours which is lovely looking btw. Love the sledge finish but probably more for the rosewood board. I wanted rosewood on mine when I was looking but there was none about at the time. Still none about now lol anyway no complaints, it’s such a sweet bass with some great settings on the 5 way.
  9. My Classic Sabre
  10. My passive Corvette Standards The honey violin ash 4 string has an ovankol neck and the bubinga(?) 5 has a wenge neck without volute and the original just a nut. It’s also got a truss rod cover that reads ‘Corvette Proline’ possibly a mix up or mistake at the factory? Quite a change from the earlier 5 to the 4 in the contouring etc……. Really taken with both. Especially the passive growl and the necks/playability of both which are really fantastic.
  11. Met with Roon in Manchester and sold him my gorgeous Warwick Thumb Dirty Blonde. Great guy to deal with and a credit to this forum. Just a shame we didn’t have longer to sit, have a pint and talk basses. Roon knows his stuff and it was a pleasure meeting him and making the sale. The Thumb is going to a good home🙂all the best Roon, I hope it serves you well!
  12. *NOW SOLD* Warwick Thumb ‘06 Limited Edition Dirty Blonde in near immaculate condition. Traded at the start of October but as beautiful as it is, I just prefer Streamers. Extremely light (sorry will get weight up later) and great player with no structural, electronics or playability issues. Comes with Warwick owners kit and certificate of authenticity. Bass is signed by Hans Peter Wilfer on the back of the headstock and has an inlayed numbered plaque as well. Comes with gig bag. Main features are poplar burl top over swamp ash body, flame maple three piece neck with ebony fretboard with bell brass frets and abalone gull inlays. Matching headstock, black hardware, just-a-nut, MEC twin J and split P pickups with MEC three band EQ and active/passive and coil split for the twin J on push/pulls. trade up the way for a natural or stain finish Streamer Stage 1 or a Stage 2 if I can stretch to that. Would also trade for a Stingray in good condition with a rosewood board and no issues. other partial trades considered (cash either way) bass can be auditioned just outside Market Drayton, Shropshire or can possibly meet fairly local. thanks for looking! Keir
  13. Really great playing and sounding bass. Covers a lot of sonic ground and the in between positions are particularly useful. Good luck with the sale/trade John 🙂
  14. No love for the JB-2 ? my personal favourite. Elegant, uncluttered look with warm Jazz bass tones. Great workhorse basses. I had two and used them for a while with my band despite having more expensive basses that could have filled the same role.
  15. Hi yes bass is still for sale. Can’t work out myself why it hasn’t moved as it’s a seriously good USA G&L for not much more than Tribute money. Happy to meet within reason. Heading to Chesterfield on Monday 15th for a couple of days if that suits anyone Sheffield/Derby/Nottingham. Would be happy to bring with me Sorry not looking to post the bass.
  16. I had a Cutlass in the same colour and loved everything about it. Only sold it to quickly finance buying a Classic Sabre though I will definitely buy another Cutlass when funds allow.
  17. I played this bass at the midlands bass bash and found it hugely addictive and inspiring to play. I recall thinking at the time if I were to own it, there would probably be an end to GAS and my bass merry-go-round. Had serious trouble thinking where I could realistically go from there afterwards. If I had the spare I would buy it. I know I would. GLWTS!
  18. Done. I’ll have some of that as I’m going to be looking for an unlined fretless in the next six months as well as looking to get my first Sire.
  19. My trio of Warwick loveliness. recently got back into Warwick after many years away and lovin the ownership experience again. the thumb dirty Blonde came from desmondpot and the Streamer LX Jazzman came from warwickhunt.
  20. @moley6knipeThanks for explaining it better than I could have done. bass is now on hold pending trade
  21. Yes the very one and thanks. It’s a great bass, I just struggle with having this and my MusicMan Sabre which both have two humbuckers and a five way switch. Sabre switching is slightly different (I think the Dimension coil settings are similar to a Stingray HH) but they’re close enough for me that one has to maybe go. I’m also currently going into one of my periodic sabbaticals from my usual Fender/MusicMan/G&L love in and looking to try something different (for me) Keir
  22. Rather taken with Warwick again. Trade for Warwick with cash either way.
  23. Traded my G&L CLF L-1000 for Trev’s Warwick Thumb Dirty Blonde. Met Trev and did the handover in person and had a good chat. Great guy to deal with and a credit to Basschat. The Thumb was in mint condition and exactly as described. Came with all the extra bit too ! Hope the G&L works out in your band, the Thumb was superb at my band rehearsal. All the best Keir
  24. Shame (for me) you’re not up for trades. I would have loved this but skint lol
  25. G&L Tribute LB-100 had the biggest neck of all the basses I’ve owned. Bigger still than the Tribute L2K’s from my memory of owning those in the past. Loved the look and sound of the LB-100, just couldn’t get on with the neck at all. I’ve also found that the MusicMan Classic Stingray I had earlier this year and the Classic Sabre I own now are both a bit on the chunky side as well. Not uncomfortably so but bigger than regular versions of the same models I’ve owned before.
