  1. Felt a good time to contribute to the thread. Dano Longhorn JMJ Mustang ‘76 Gibson Ripper (much modded) FSR PJ Mustang
  2. NBD - JMJ Mustang arrived this morning. Unfortunately, pesky work is going to get in the way of me playing it until later.
  3. I could jump at this as I’m local to Birmingham but won’t. Personally before moving this on I’d be giving @Ashdown Engineering a shout about the issue…
  4. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  5. It’s a fair point regarding paid reviews, but to be launching signature products from players of the calibre of Geezer, Myung and Pratt with not even a video from the artists themselves is odd to say the least. Thought the same thing with the Shavo head/Geezer head/Zender pedal etc. etc.
  6. Just hear waiting for someone to mock up a Nelson Mandela sig bass. Prerequisites include that it must have AnC strings.
  7. There’s a document linked off the Fender Custom Shop site that covers their process. That’s about all I know! http://www.fmicassets.com/sites/fender.com/themes/img/customshop/2021/2021_Custom_Shop_Design_Guide.pdf
  8. Yep. Green Russian all the way.
  9. Some good alternative options here, though it has to be said that with the Unibass, Fission or Helix the “tight budget” prerequisite isn’t going to be met. Realistically a used LS-2, used SubnUp mini and a dirt box at the cheap end (if there’s not already one lying around) could all be got for £100 or less and would cover what’s needed at this stage.
  10. I have one in the same colour, which also looks great with a tort guard (think I posted a pic in the short scale thread somewhere). Lots of fun to play. Agree on the quality of pickups in these vs previous MIMs I’ve experienced also. I bought mine expecting to want to swap out the P pickup at least (I generally play with the P pickup soloed) but have been really pleased with it.
  11. Even by BC GAS standards 115 is a lot of cabs. I’ll get my coat…
  12. In my experience (am in a bass & drums 2 piece myself) the sub n up is the best option for the upper octave at not much cost. The Mooer Tender is decent too. The T-Rex Quint is another, albeit slightly pricier, option and you can dial a fifth above in on that simultaneously too. Useful for this kind of thing. And, as others have said, an ABY or LS-2 before it to split the signal plus a drive of your choice and you’ll be in the general ballpark.
  13. Learned to play with fingers 30 years ago, couldn’t take to a pick so never used one. Started playing in a bass/drums two piece a couple of years ago and fingerstyle wasn’t sounding right. Shifted to a pick and from long scale to short scale at the same time.
  14. I love it when I see Sandman/Morphine mentioned anywhere. They’ll always be criminally underrated and unknown by so many. Great work!
  15. Different strokes and all that, but as I never managed to gel with fivers I’ve had one 4 string tuned BEAD for 20 years or so. All depends on how much you use the G when playing the stoner/doom stuff of course. Hell, if nowt else it’s a great reason to buy another bass! 🤣
  16. Not yet, though I do know that they really need to be making them in the tacky silver metalflake they used to use on the long scale.
  17. Strap yourself in for a likely detailed and informative response! Ace company. I love my Two10.
