  1. Durst is a real teacher. This was another gem of his of course. Thanks for the ‘math’. One, two, three times two to the six Jolts in for your fix with the Limp Bizkit mix
  2. There’s a favourite knowingly bad rhyme of mine too, from Mr. Knowitall by Primus... They call me Mr. Knowitall I am so eloquent. Perfection is my middle name And whatever rhymes with eloquent.
  3. This from American Life by Madonna. And she raps it, to a fashion. Disgraceful. I'm drinking a Soy latte I get a double shotay It goes right through my body And you know I'm satisfied I drive my mini cooper And I'm feeling super-dooper Yo they tell I'm a trooper And you know I'm satisfied I do yoga and pilates And the room is full of hotties So I'm checking out the bodies And you know I'm satisfied
  4. As you’re new to bass I’d personally think about getting something similar (body shape, pickups, neck width etc) to what you play at home. Might make life a fair bit easier for you when you’re in either location.
  5. The weight of the negativity and sniping over there has probably crashed the server.
  6. I’m sure a T-Bird player with more info will be along soon with more to this, but at the very least the cheaper one is a bolt on neck with Epi pickups, crappy 3 point bridge etc, whereas the vintage pro has a thru-neck, probucker pickups and a far better bridge. Design wise, the vintage pro is a repro of (I think) a ‘63 T-Bird so has an oversized headstock etc. All in all a LOT more bass.
  7. Great choices! Jesus Built My Hotrod would always be in my top three too. as for the other two, dunno but these will do for now as they’re kind of hard to overlook for me!
  8. Private sale for sure. In this particular case, as it’s long been discontinued, if the ‘right’ person catches sight of the Blackbird I’d have thought it would (pardon the pun) fly out. They don’t seem to come up all that often.
  9. Agree with all the above. BC is one of the rare sites I visit almost daily. Rarely see anything but helpful, polite and courteous posts on here. Also a mine of useful info on all things bass related. As far as the for sale section is concerned - list a piece of gear for sale on Facebook and see the difference. Thanks and well done to all. x
  10. Good to know you’ve not had night vision goggles trained on my spare room while I plot my return to the stage. 🤣
  11. It’s tidy, though I reckon to get any use in anger I’d have to probably have to favour a shortie (assuming this is longscale).
  12. Cheers. I was all set to drop a message on this one yesterday. Before a visit to the dentist and a £500 bill for a crown on a cracked tooth made me sensible. That was yesterday though, think I’ll drop a message over so er, thanks for that!
  13. Think I made at least 1 visit pretty much each weekend from 91-94 to Exchanges gawping at lovely gear in my playing infancy. And that’s an absolute beauty!
  14. Not a fan of headless basses as a rule but can see it working on this body shape. Those Warman MM p/ups are very decent for the rather minuscule outlay too. Nice!
  15. In fairness it would likely be an ‘only when standing’ bass for the most part. I rarely do non-Fender when seated. Habit thing!
  16. Been having a GAS attack for a V bass of late. Availability of many options seems a bit thin on the ground just now though. The short scale of the Gibson/Epiphone V basses appeals, though the inflated prices I’ve seen (presumably due to current non-production) don’t so much. Regardless, are either the Epi or Gibbo ones any cop? And are there any other brands I should be considering? All and any thoughts appreciated. Cheers!
  17. These are very, very decent for the price. GLWTS.
  18. From learning to play at 14/15 on I never played with a pick at all. It never felt comfortable to me, to the point that even playing guitar I still don’t. That said, my current band is a bass/drums two piece and playing fingerstyle just doesn’t work for what we do. I tried but it needs the attack of pick playing. As a result I’m using a pick for the first time ever. And playing shortscale basses for the first time too.
