1. Just bought a Focusrite Forte interface from Ian. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and it was delivered in lightning quick time. Thanks again.
2. I love the CV basses. I now just gig CV's (a 60's P and a James Johnston J) and all the expensive stuff stays at home. With my MIJ Fender basses I would always change the pickups and pots, no need with the CV's as the stock Pups are great - Buy it! The guitars are excellent too.
3. Just my two peneth: I've bought the Korg Pitchclip, TC Polytune clip and the Planet Waves nano. For me the best of the 3 is the Korg. The TC works great on guitar but the poly tuning is redundant on bass and it struggles to track my E string let alone a low B. The Nano I found too small and the proof of that is that I managed to loose it - worked well until then though. So given that the Korg tracks all my bass (4 and 5 strings) no problem and is considerably cheaper than the TC it gets my vote.
4. I've been using a Micro POG, sending the dry signal to my amp and then the octave up to a Zoom G1on. Maximum flexibility, loads of options for guitar-esque tones. There's even an organ sim in the Zoom that gives you some cool textures too. I also put a tuner in each of the two signal paths then I can mute either my bass signal or the POG oct up.
5.
The Pod X3 Live has both guitar and bass as well as vocal pre amps. I don't know if the XT does it but the X3 has two completely separate signal paths which you can use as a bi amped type setup with clean bass through one channel and effects through the other, I really like this feature.
+1 it makes the whole unit so much more useable than the XT.

POG all the way.

VB99

True, the possibilities are endless. The Precision sounds I quite like. And the Rick. The one I struggled with the most was the Hofner. That said, given enough time I could probably find a way.
9. True, still £380 feels like a lot. I'll probably still get one it would be a great lightweight solution to 90% of my gigs. I'll just have to save up a little longer.

The Stingray sound on the VB-99 is excellent. I'm still not quite sold in the Jazz bass modelling, but then my hex pickup is on a Jazz so I can just use the dry signal.
11.
I suppose if you look at it compared to a seperates board, it may well be well priced. Considering you get a di and tuner. No need for a fancy power supply or cabling.. the price begins to look slightly more reasonable. .. however I think under 300 would have been more tempting. Anyone know how much the guitar ones were when they were released?
They were under £300. A few of the Gtr players I work with bought them when they were first released.
12.
Recently bought a WAV Radius 4-string from danweb22 here - I have back, neck and shoulder problems - and this bass is superb. Quite light but more importantly really well balanced and the lack of headstock means it doesn't pull so much on the shoulder. Can happily wear it for an hour or two without problems. I also have a Steinberger Synapse and that is good but not so comfortable as the Radius. The bi-radial design (curve front and back) of the Radius means the bass tucks in well (or hugs the gut...) and you hardly notice it's there. The sound is (IMO) better than the Synapse too - more traditional sounding and the piezo in the bridge is more controlled than on the Synapse. Sounds thunderous through my GK head into two Markbass cabs and had some very favourable comments. Overall, love it and have already sold one bass with another on the market because they're getting no love at all since the Radius arrived. Also considered selling the Synapse but can't quite bear to, but that thought was totally unthinkable pre-Radius... so, yeah, great bass. Buy one If you're ever down in Somerset and haven't bought one already, pop in and have a go
Thanks for that reply. Exactly what I wanted to know. Right, I need to flog a few bits.......
13.
I've had an on-off neck shoulder prob for the last 7-8 years. I bought a Status Streamline which I've found spot on because it's light and balances really well. Sounds well too....
Yeah, looked at those too, nearly pulled the trigger on the recent streamline in the ads section. The WAV appeals more because it'll freak my band mates out less and from what I can gather from YouTube will sound more traditional.
14. Thanks for your input. I'm going to have to find somewhere that stocks them and pop over and see for myself.
15. Has anyone tried one of these? I've suffered with neck/shouder/back trouble for years and am wondering if I need to get a more ergonomically designed bass to ease/reduce the problem. I'm mainly using a P bass these days, but have recently been using a Danelectro Longhorn as its lighter and less to carry on the tube. I've tried out a Hohner B2A, which I like for the size and tone, but it sits awkwardly on the strap and so exacerbates my back issues. The NS Radius Wav looks like it could cop a decent P tone, is light and small enough and seems like it could be just the ticket. Thoughts please people from owners or those that have tried one.
16. Wish you were more likely local, I'd have had it if you were. GLWTS
17. Bought an MXR M80 bass DI from Julian, Really easy purchase and it arrived two days early! Great to deal with in all aspects.
18. Mmm, yes, nothing is particularly "easy" on the 10b. The designers went for ultimate tweak-ability rather than user friendliness. That said once you get to grip with it you'll find no more capable Bass multi effects. You might find this software helpful - its really well laid out and shows you graphically what is possible: http://fxfloorboard.sourceforge.net/info.php?model=gt-10b Good luck!
19.
I would've had it if it had been under£300, but that's too steep for me.
+1
20. Available to preorder - nearly £400 though, Ouch! http://www.gak.co.uk/en/tech-21-sansamp-bass-fly-rig-5-mini-multi-effects/129692?gclid=COu_9N_s58oCFYMewwodDAYLhw
21. You can use manual mode just like the 6b. TBH - the 10b is mind blowingly programmable. You can pretty much assign any parameter or effect to any foot switch. Check the manual out pg 54 http://cdn.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/GT-10B_OM.pdf
22. That is pants! I'll get my coat...
23. The POD x3 live pops up on eBay very frequently for decent money.
24. That is a great deal, these are top notch compressors. If I didn't already have a 160A I'd be all over this.
