  1. These are great when used like a Sansamp.

  3. Ok, so just rigged mine up - unfortunately I'm getting the same issue as you describe! The middle switch position is noisy and the top position is worse. I'm using an isolated Strymon PSU. Out of curiosity I A/B'd it with a Boss CEB-3, Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus and an EHX Bass Clone. The Boss and the Tech21 were all but silent. The EHX was noisy (top end hiss) as soon as I engaged the effect. The Providence was nice a quiet in the bottom switch position and progressively noisier (hiss as the LFO sweeps) as you went up between the three positions. I can only assume the Tech 21 and Boss have some filtering going on before the output? I also added a TU-3 in before the Anadime to see if it needed buffering to stop the hiss - it made no difference. I must have noticed this before and just settled on using the bottom switch setting? It's a shame as out of the four pedals the Providence has by far the best sounding chorus to my ears.
  4. The leak was correct!
  5. Hey, I’ve got the Anadime BC. Let me check it out. I would say Bagmans suggestion above is a good place to start
  6. You could well be correct, but my understanding is that as long as it’s daisy chained (as the RPW-7 is internally) it will work correctly: Powering Options ACA 12V DC Adapter: Use a dedicated 12V DC (center-negative) adapter or a power supply with a selectable 12V output. Battery: A 9V battery will provide the correct 9V internally, bypassing the voltage-dropping components. Daisy Chain (with a PSA pedal): If connected in a daisy chain with at least one standard 9V PSA pedal, the ACA pedal's internal resistor/diode circuit is bypassed, allowing it to run correctly on 9V When powering ACA Boss pedals I’m always lead by the brightness of the LED. Setting them up as I did in this test gives full bright LED’s so I’m assuming they are working correctly. That said I do have a 12V Boss ACA PSU and I’ll A/B and update.
  7. OC-2 Comparison.mp3 Ok, so I've plugged in The OC-5, followed by an '85 'Octave' OC-2 and then an '83 "Octaver' OC-2. All are soloed on the -1 octave (OC-5 in vintage setting on Bass mode) All three are individually powered by a Boss RPW-7 to make sure they all have the correct voltage hitting them. I'm using an MIJ '57 Reissue P bass with worn in flats, tone on full, straight out of the DI of an Ampeg PF800 pre EQ into Logic no processing. Playing around the sweet spot of 7th to 12th fret for the little riff in the demo. I can't feel or perceive any latency from the OC-5, what I can hear is that they all sound a bit different and the OC-5 is much louder due to a better noise floor.
  8. I do, let me plug them in and see what my thoughts are. My gut says that I prefer the OC-2 as that’s just what I tend to grab if I need an octave. I should also add that I have a few OC-2’s and my favourite is an ‘83 Octaver. So they do vary a bit.
  9. I’ve used a Patrick Eggle Berlin guitar for years, which is excellent. This is a heck of a lot of bass for the money. Very tempted myself to get the pair. Bargain!

    Boss GX-1B

Just noticed this, even Boss don’t have it on their site? https://ebay.us/m/OM14N5
  11. This one smells like the vigour of youth and hairspray!
  12. Edit - £350 collected. Yamaha RBX 800a - I lusted after one of these in the early 90's whilst playing in metal bands at a time where I enjoyed the pointy headstock aesthetic. I found this one a few years ago in its original (albeit tatty) hard case in a magnificent white blizzard pearl. Needless to say it ticks all the boxes looks wise and its sound is pure 80's active rock machine. The pre amp is loud and scooped, it absolutely sings when thumping out 8th notes! I had it serviced about a year ago and its sat in its case ever since waiting for the call from 'Jeff Leppard' or whatever hair metal gig was in store for it. Sadly the call never came and my spandex is offensively tight these days so I think its time to move it on to someone with more hair than me. It does have some obvious signs of wear in line with a 35 year old instrument, some swirling, discoloring and a few dinks, but no major chips. The pics are a little misleading, it’s closer to the middle two shots that are whiter in reality. Not yellow as in the other shots. Demos welcome in north London N21 I don't really want to ship at the moment, but I may change my mind for the right deal?
  13. Edit again 20/1/26 I could now send as I have a bass sized box from a recent purchase still £650 collected or add delivery and I’ll post it. Fabulous bass, Yamaha build quality, same parts as the much more expensive 2025x Basses. Huge, assertive tone from a passive bass. This one is just not getting the use it deserves, so it’s time to move it on. Difficult to price as I can't find any recent sales at the moment, try me with offers if you think it’s too steep? This one is in very good nick with one or two very tiny dinks on the elbow cut - practically impossible to photograph. Otherwise immaculate. Just had a fresh set of D'Addario's so is all good to sell. very happy (actively encouraged) to demo here in north London - N21 Any Q's please PM me.
  14. I’ll knock a tenner off any of the remaining pedals - postage in the UK included.
  15. Great amps, GLWTS
  16. Sold £40 posted? SD QP pickup from a long since departed project. Pole peices have oxidised a little, I’m sure it’ll disappear when a round wound string vibrates against it a few times. Includes pickup screws and plastic risers as well as the box and instructions. Price includes UK postage.
  17. Stinger 77 preamp - apparently the same as a 1977 pre EB Stingray preamp. In good condition. Will include the loom, pots etc. And have pictures to explain the layout. Comes in original box. Price includes UK postage.
  18. Sold Up for grabs is the Aguilar MM pickup from my Jag bass. In good condition, sounds like a MM pickup. Comes with a couple of foam risers and three screws. Price includes UK postage.
