1.
Unable to post audio, but I'm in that London too, so you're welcome to pop round and have a go.
I very kind offer sir, I'll PM you.
2. I'm seriously considering one of these, can you post any audio as the only demo I can find the player is playing over the neck. Would love to hear what it actually sounds like.
3. 5th gig tonight, outdoors - brrrr, its cold! This time Yamaha 1025, large PA, IEM's. Flyrig was awesome, I feel like I've got the hang of the compressor now so had that switched on all night. Used the chorus for a couple of tunes. Even punched in a qwacky octave down for a few sections. Overall I'm really happy with the Bass Fly Rig, money well spent.
4. 4 gigs down now, this thing is great. Really enjoying the portability and fantastic sound. Also enjoying irritating my guitarist by tuning up with it. - it's the pedal that keeps on giving.
5. So, 2 gigs down. Playing Blues, R&B and a little Bluesy Jazz with a P bass straight through the BFR into the FOH via XLR. Using a 1x15 monitor wedge supplied by the venue for foldback. First gig with new gear is always a learning curve. Went for an SVT type sound, and pretty much stayed with that, no compression. It coped fine. However I wasn't entirely happy with my sound, but it was OK. Gig 2 tonight and I had a bit more time to properly play with the eq. The controls are highly interactive and after much tweaking settled on something closely resembling the Fat Tube sound in the manual. Really happy with how it sounded. Added the compression in too - very lightly, to even things up a bit. So far so good.
6. Just picked up a BFR today. This is going to make my gigs (and getting to them) a lot easier. I shall report back after some real life experience.
7.
Possibly. Pissably. Piss a brolly.
😆
8. Thats is a fabulous Ray, GLWTS.
9.
I have always thought that making the headstock a miniature version of the body shape could look quite 'cool'.
https://goo.gl/images/m6PVj6
10.
You'll not find a period correct one... they're all feckin broken!
Yep, mine is.
11. Oddly, I quite like the look of the Explorer too.
12.
La Bella 760FS on their way.
I have those on my CV Jazz, no probs at all.
13. Yep, my 50's CV has Labella heavy flats (the Jameson set) and is fine. So have several other Squiers I have, all fine. you'll be OK. Obviously I had to adjust the setup, but once I had all good. As Marc S says above the CV's are very good quality basses and can be setup with whatever strings, action etc. you want.
14. I'll give these one last go then its off to the bay I think. Offers please.
15. I have both pedals. I find the 81 much brighter and more hi-fi sounding than the 80. The 80 has the added distortion if that's what you need. I do find the two quite different if set totally flat. The 80 is noticeably darker.
16. Sold Nige my Rocktron Blue Thunder. Really easy sale. Recommended.
17. Now sold! Has served my band well for the last few years. We've just upgraded so this is up for grabs. Really handy for setting up IEM's as it has four seperate aux mixes, and it's always fun to watch the flying faders wizz about. Good used condition. Fully working. Missing 'G' knob, but pot works fine. Comes with fully fitted flight case. Collection welcome from Enfield, although happy to post if the buyer covers the cost. More pics available, just PM me.
18. Those Skreddy Supertones are awesome! GLWTS
19. Got any pics? *EDIT - I'll pm you!*
20. The one Delberthot had is mine now. I have used it for every gig I've had since. Wonderful basses. I really want to try a 2025 now to see what the difference is.
21. Just had a quick go, great fun. Its been a while since I dug my VB-99 out and played with it - I'd forgotten how cool it is! I've made a save file of your patch (although I've left all the String levels at 100%) for anyone who fancies a bash (change file extension to .zip): Turns out they are .b9e files? must be a weird Roland format. Oh, and please do share patches
22.
Yeah, but I much prefer using the unit. I think the interface is so nice to use with all the knobs and big screen. Any time spent away from the computer is good in my book! I have the unit on the stand just to the side of my desk, perfect height, it just works so nicely. I even use it as a sound card for music through my hifi and headphones
Fair play, you can make handy save files with the VB editor - I think they're.mid from memory. Makes for easy backup and patch sharing. Thanks again for taking the time to write the settings down for that patch, I'll give it a go when I get a minute.
23.
Sure - I'll have to simply type the settings down as I haven't got the facility to do a system dump or whatever it's called using MIDI at this point Start off with the 'Chameleon' preset (I think it's patch 120 unless you've moved it) COSM bass settings page 1 COSM Bass - on. Type - Synth Synth Type - Analog GR Master level - 100 Page 2 Mode - VCO Comp - Off Page 3 Cutoff Freq - 58 (though I adjust this with the knob on the bass to change the sound, 58 matches the video) Reso - 77 (Env Mod) - ON Sens - 35 Attack - 25 Page 4 Off Page 5 (Sweep) ON Rise - 32 Fall - 24 (Vibrato) - Off Page 6 EQ - On (but flat, just total gain +10) Page 7-15 all off/flat Page 16 String level 100 except G string which I turned down to 30 as it was louder than the others. ---- FX COMP ON - Limiter TRSH - 60 Ratio - 4:1 Attack - 0 Rel - 20 Tone - 0 Level - 62 --- That's it! Tbh it'll differ from one bass to another depending on your pickup install (distance from strings, placement etc) and your playing style (filter sensitivity etc) but this shoudl get you mostly there. Let me know if a screenshot of the editor would help, or pictures of the screen of the unit.
Thanks for that I'll give it a go. Are you not using the VB editor with your computer? If not you should be as it's actually really good, and makes editing the unit a breeze.
