1. Does anyone know where I can find, or what size screw to buy to to attach my Boss 1/2u units to a rack tray. I managed to get hold of a RAD-50, but it has no screws. The threaded mount is the recessed one in the bottom of the Boss unit:
2.
I had one of those, I considered it my first 'proper' bass when I bought it back in the early 90's, mine was the off-white passive version, like this:
Yeah, mines passive too, but black. Good basses, I nearly had a 2nd hand P copy, but opted for this instead.
3. I got an Aria pro II Laser Electric Heritage new in 1985, lucky me! - still have it, its actually a really great sounding bass. I don't use it much, but like the nostalgia it brings.
4. Just completed a bass trade with Derek. The whole deal was seamless throughout. Great communication from the start and a fair deal of trust involved by both parties. Couldn't be happier, would highly recommend. EDIT for typo
5.
BSP sale pending to Mr Zep Bass!
Happy days!
6. Thanks to both of you for your responses, I think I've been convinced this is a bad idea.
7. Right, heres my thinking: I have a VB-99, which is great and provides any effects I need when recording. One aspect of it that has always left me wanting was the Bass to MIDI feature. It would be really useful to be able trigger MIDI accurately using a bass, as its the instrument I'm most comfortable on. Whist the Bass to MIDI feature tracks well for a bass to MIDI converter, its still a bit laggy and latent even with tight technique. My understanding of this is that trying to track such low notes is awkward and will always have some inherent lag. So, how about using a Piccolo bass with a hex pickup to capture the note? - once i'm in the world of MIDI I can then just shift it down an octave again to get it back to standard bass range. My question really is to anyone that has done this or is using a Piccolo bass. Is it better to have a shorter scale length to stop the strings being super tight? or is it better to have tight strings in order to keep the feel of the bass. I'm thinking of using these strings: http://www.stringsdi...ss-strings-p881 ...and popping them on something like a Squier SS Jaguar bass. If need be I can then blend the signal from the Mag pickups back in. Or, should I stop carrying out experiments in MIDI, accept the fact I need to become a better keyboard player and spend the time practicing that instead.
8. Yeah, just read it in the independent website. Shocking news.

Pedal order

In short, no, but the general consensus is Drives 1st, then your filter then the verb. That said, its best to experiment to find out what works best for you.
10. SOLD [s]Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pounder pups[/s] [s]Came out of a bass I bought that I managed to source the original pickups for. Kept it for a while as I have one in another bass and really liked it, and imagined I'd install it in something at some point. Has sat there since and isn't going to get used so off it goes. £35 posted in the UK[/s] SOLD [s]EMG P set split pickup with loom These are the older style EMG's. I bought them a while back with a view to popping them in a CV P bass, turns out I quite liked the sound of the original PU's and these were never installed. They came to me without a loom and after a bit of research I managed to put one together using Alpha pots. Its all been tested and you can simply pull out your old guts and install these without any soldering. Its usually possible to fit the 9V battery under the pickguard without any routing too, although I would have a good measure first. £50 posted[/s] Unidentified bridge J PUP Alleged to be a Kent Armstrong, but I have no way of identifying it (maybe someone can help?) came out of a P/J bass in the bridge position. Sounds like a rear J PUP (unsurprisingly!) [s]£13[/s] £10 Posted - please make me an offer, I want this gone!
11. zep bass is looking for one (BSP) in the wanted section.
12. I used to have one which I sold on here so I can't do any clips I'm afraid. The Autoslap is an interesting effect, but with limited application. I can't recall the arpeggiator setting but I do remember it played the riff from Sweet Emotion. You can get a rough idea of what it does here, although he is only using one of the preset patterns here (from 3:00): https://www.youtube....h?v=zoW3RHOjiOU
13. Sold a pickup to Pete, Dead easy from start to finish. deal in confidence.
14. Lovey, is that a ramp I see?
15. Either way, that is a crazy price for that bass!
16. Bumping up this old thread, all remaining items still available. Please feel free to send offers or trade ideas.
17. I sold Brian a Kiogon wiring harness. Straightforward deal, would recommend.
18. It's 9V dc -ve tip psu, but the DI favours its own AKAI psu which makes it a lot quieter.
19. Great 1u rackmount preamp. Unbelievably fine tweakablity with this unit. It features: EQ Distortion Delay Reverb Tremolo Phaser Flanger Chorus Exciter as well as Amp sim and Rocktrons own Hush Noise suppressor. I’m a little hesitant over selling this as the Modulation and Delay effects are great. In truth though I have loads of other things I use a lot more though so off it goes. In very good condition and comes with Rocktron psu although it’s a euro plus so it’ll need an adapter. Manual here: http://www.rocktron....nder_manual.pdf These are going for crazy money on eBay and Amazon. Presumable because its discontinued? I'm asking £135 posted in the UK. pics to follow
20. I regularly switch between: A couple of Squier P's one flats one rounds A couple of Squier J's one flats one rounds A Danelectro Longhorn with rounds and A Hofner Violin Bass with black coated flats
21. Brilliant kit from our own Kigon, really easy to fit as it has solderless connections, full diagram and even has its own mini screw driver. I briefly fitted this to my CV jazz, but quickly realized that I only use the parallel setting so no need for this. £30 posted.
