Octaver

I would agree about the OC-2, its a great pedal and if you can afford one get it. I for one don't mind the OC-3. As I always say in these Octave threads, try a DOD Octaplus. They're cheap on the Bay and have decent analogue octave down with a tone control. The Black Label EBS Octabass is worth a look and I would imagine in budget 2nd hand. Quite different to the OC-2 in character, but very clean and easy to dial in.
2. Bump, MS-60B and Dr Q sold - Offers accepted on the remaining pedals.
3.
Drat - I never saw those. I already bought a warwick rockbass fretless on a whim - so the CV GAS will have to hold off a while...
I think you may require slightly more patience next time the CV GAS kicks in . :-)
4. Theres as 2nd hand JJ Sig Squier here: http://www.musicwarehouse.co.uk/secondhand/3583-secondhand-squier-james-johnston-jazz-bass-guitar-in-blue.html
5. As someone who plays a lot of function and corporate gigs, I am still stunned that its not understood by other musicians that you have to play songs that the punters want/expect to hear. As previously stated obscure songs, no matter how good clear dance floors in seconds - sometimes even old chestnuts can! On the other hand we jokingly played Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight in a soundcheck recently and it received great acclaim from our apparently educated audience. In order to keep getting repeat bookings you will be required to perform a lot of the same old stuff. Lets hope some new classics get written soon and we can all shuffle Brown Eyed Girl further down the set list pecking order.
6. Great pedals, Mr Kallas really can build them like no other. You should post up some gut shots to make the DIYers gush. GLWTS
7. I've noticed this too, although I did mange to score an oly white cv jazz a couple of weeks ago on the bay. I think it's just a matter of waiting.
8. Sold Alex a Behringer power amp. Really easy deal. I hope it serves you as well as it did us.
9. Brassmaster on the left, Zeke on the right; No?
10.
Further research: if the CV tuners are the same size as the real thing, then Hipshot HB2s are the correct fit. Otherwise, I'm sticking with the HB7s.
CV tuners are not the same dimension as pre CBS Kluson or post CBS Fender tuners, so the HB-2's would definitely require drilling new holes to fit.
11. Ooof! That's a pretty one. Have a bump.
12.
The Hipshot HB7s wouldn't be a direct drop in on a CV bass; the tuner holes wouldn't line up and it would require redrilling. If you're not bothered about drilling new holes then presumably nearly any open-gear tuner would fit on there. The HB1s look like they'd drop straight in to the existing screw holes though. I've had no problem with the tuners on either of my Matt Freemans, I'd wait and see how you get on before changing them out.
If its the HB-1's then I bought some recently for my Stingray. By far and away the cheapest I could find in the UK was the set of four from Axesrus: http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Hipshot-HB-1-Machine-Heads-s/2274.htm I would also echo the above in that I've had the original tuners on my CV P bass since i got it and I've always found them to work great; accurate tuning and no rattles. But if you must change them then Hipshots are the way to go.
13.
I put Hipshot HB7 lollipops on my P5. They drop in on Squier, MIM Fender, and American Special.
Ha, there you go! nice one Telebass.
14. I'm interested in this too. I was under the impression that Hipshot HB-1's are the retro fit tuner for CV basses. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/drop-in-tuners-for-squier-classic-vibe-jazz.616279/ However I've also seen people talking about HB-7's, although I thought they were for Japanese Fenders and Squiers. I've got some HB-1's on my Stingray and a CV bass, I'll swap them over and see if they fit - unless anyone here can confirm first.
15. Here are mine (L-R Danelectro Dead on 58 Longhorn, '95 Epiphone Rivoli, Hofner Icon B-bass, Fender P Bass Jr) :
16. I would agree with all the above. I'd like to add that Transcription has been a massive help to me and my ability to sight read. It allows you to really pick apart the process and builds up your repertoire. Win win.
17. It's got VM written all over it. Great bass - lucky friends son!
18. Good price then, this is the one they all want. :-)
19. The 9VDC socket is also a help in identifying Boss pedals that have lost their label, Although the first run of MIT OC-2's had the old stock Japanese PCB's and therefore the 'Old' style 9VDC sockets. The 'Old' Style are slightly raised and the 'New' style are totally flush: http://www.analogman...cs/ds1jacks.jpg Either way there is very little difference between the two in terms of sound. GLWTS
20. I would treat it like a regular bass. Anything that will work well on a P or J will work well on the Bass VI. As for multis: a Zoom B3 or B1on/x have all the effects suggested above. IMHO the B/C9 will only really work in the higher registers, just like a normal Fender bass. Ps. The G1on/x has an Organ Sim which I use post Micro POG +1 Oct which works great, has a bundle of other effects and is about 1/3rd of the price of the B9!
21. No problem. Like all good musicians I'm happy to take requests :-) Chris
22.
Manuals are wonderful things huh The PS-6 is a fun pedal, enjoy! Si
:-)
23. Well its been a while since I posted on here, but here are a couple of new ones: First up a bit of Duran Duran with a great bassline from John Taylor Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf.pdf And then a classic by Elvis Costello Elvis Costello - Pump It Up.pdf Enjoy!
24. Long Shot, would you sell just the PDS-10?
