Just got back from my mate's where we were writing, I used his TRB1006 and absolutely loved it, what an instrument. He mentioned he didn't get on with the neck, so might see if I can persuade him to sell it to me at some point

If you've not already e-mailed them, I'd make a comment about their management who put the driver in a position where he was able to do this. If he is capable of going off process, then that is management failure. As has been aluded to earlier in the thread, he's l probably quietly encouraged,to do something like this to keep costs down and KPIs up. It's very easy for a company like this to blame the driver, but it's them who created the environment where the driver thought this was an acceptable thing to do. Not saying the driver isn't at fault, he could genuinely have acted in a self-serving and malicious way; but I would suspect that the ultimate blame lies with Parcelforce management.

Keep them both and invest in a wide, padded strap?

I'm depping in a band called Sent Her Mental tonight, I'm not a fan off the name

The guitarist in one of the bands I dep for has recently resurrected his Sabbath tribute, so I'm hoping to pick up some dep work there as well, as I bloody love Sabbath.

Some voices are certainly acquired tastes, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth is one that jumps to mind.

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for, thanks -
Top 3 bass shop tryout riffs - they're looking at you and waiting!

I think last time I was at Bass Direct I used I Wish by Stevie Wonder as my benchmark riff as it covers all four strings and Mustang Sally as I could guarantee I was going to have to play it -
Don't know if this of help, but in my old metal band I had a four string Mayones Be4 with EMG single coils tuned BEAD which worked very well for that band. As I see you're in Poland, I'm guessing the used market for Mayones out there is pretty good?

Will give that a listen later on, but Daddy by Korn is a hard listen.

We've all done gigs like this early on in our playing, it's a right of passage - play the show, have a laugh, keep an eye on your kit

Given the location, you're not the bassist for Sea Bastard are you?
Its a bit more complicated than that ☺ it involves rack cases, ears and MB Fusions too....... It wasn't Thomann - I had a good experience with DV247 and got it from there at a stupid price. But someone should buy this 1001 pronto!
Ah shame, but someone will be happy with a bagain here
I don't believe it! I just pushed the button on a new 700RB this morning cos I sold my Genz. Been looking for a used one for a little while. And I had to buy the rack ears from Thomann too...... Dangnabbit! And I'll be running thru a couple of BB2's as well - small world innit. We gig around Kent a bit, who do you play with?
Return the new one under distance selling regs if you got it from Thomann

That sounds fantastic, but £2k? Blimey. I think the EBS Fafner 2 works on a similar principle and is a few hundred quid less.

It wasn't this particular jump, but one like at this gig - one of the biggest shows I've done, opening for a former X-Factor star at a racecourse. I jumped, must have not taken off at a straight angle and suddenly felt like one thw guitarist ls had kicked my ankle, looked down and he was too far away. Found my ankle was weak for the rest of the gig, and once the adrenaline had worn off was in a fair bit of pain. After keeping my six month pregnant fiancé up half the night by tossing and turning as I couldn't find a comfortable angle to sleep at we take a trip to minor injuries the next day; turns out I've badly sprained it and have to take a day off work as I can't drive. Moral of the story? I'm not as young as I was; that was about three and a half years ago and it's still weak if I have to run far on it, it has got a lot better though. Summerfest 2015 Headliners, Any Recommendations
Graham replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
Flogging Molly are a lot of fun, particularly live - Irish enthused, rawkus punk rock with trad folk instruments. I'd certainly watch Weird Al Yankovich out of nostalgia for my uni days. Whilst I have a morbid curiosity as to what Paris Hilton is going to "perform", I don't think I could bring myself to watch and find out -
I found at the weekend the filter had fallen out of my right earplug, to be honest I hadn't noticed until I took it out during the break. No sign of the filter itself, could be anywhere, as I don't know when it dissappeared; once I knew it was gone I could tell there was a little less attenuation in my right ear and the reduction was less flat. So, today - first day back at work after Easter - called up ACS, they're still under warranty so they emailed me an RMA form straight away, I got them off in the post and they should be back to me in two weeks. My next gig isn't until the 25th of April, so should just be back to me in time. They'll replace the filter and might re-mould the right earplug to make the inner canal slightly smaller so it grips the filter better. Will keep this thread updated with how the returns process goes.

Last night was a lot of fun, my second show depping for a hard rock/heavy metal covers band; wasn't a great payer, but the pub was busy and the audience appreciative. I'm a big fan of metal, but their set is a little Download Festival for my taste, however the Sabbath, QOTSA and Foos tracks were really enjoyable. The band were really happy with my playing, hinted they'd like me to take over permanently, however my main band should kick-off again in earnest come July and more importantly I'm filling in whilst their regular bassist recovers from bypass surgery following a heart attack, and I wouldn't feel very good about that :s Got chatting to an older fellow whilst packing up who had recently started playing bass again after a forty year gap, he asked if I was a professional musician, which was very gratifying, particularly given the errors I know I made

On your last gig, which number went down the best?
Graham replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
Probably when we played Paranoid again for the encore, the rocked up version of Message In A Bottle went down very well as did the songs where we got soem guests up - All My Life, Slither and The Immigrant Song. -
The price tag probably means the only people playing them are successful professionals, for whom it's an essential tool and the cash rich who can afford what is percieved to be the "best" bass by virtue of being the most expensive. I do remember reading sonewhere that Fodera don't actually make a lot of margin on their basses though, once you deduct their overheads.

I love the reverb Justin Chancellor uses on The Grudge when the song drops down to just bass At 1:19 https://youtu.be/EiR1hmpk-x4 Also his use of whammy? Wah? At 9:33 in this, not sure but awesome. https://youtu.be/VZXJLQntCP0
