1. Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn, EBS Fafner and Proline 4x10, gone banck to EBS recently so hope my new rig - HD350 and Neoline 2x12 with G&L SB2 is even betrer
2. Thinking about giving this a go, how's it for doom/sludge and black metal bands?
3. Glad it's working out for you Richard
4.
Apparently, Kermit isn't really playing the banjo. It's Carol Kaye.
5. Jon Davis from Conan uses one of their custom fuzzes, and sounds awesome. He may be a guitarist, but tunes so low that he may as well be a bassist
6. There's a couple of basses in the sale forum I keep coming back to, I have no money, but they're gorgeous: [Img]https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7527/16248377626_2e3d73af39_c.jpg" class="ipsImage" /> http://basschat.co.uk/topic/253329-warwick-streamer-stage-1-1998/page__pid__2661375#entry2661375 [Img]http://basschat.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-31429-0-38532200-1420828051_thumb.jpg" class="ipsImage" /> http://basschat.co.uk/topic/253015-sadowsky-nyc-pj5/page__pid__2657705#entry2657705
7. Troy Sanders uses one here, not very audible though http://youtu.be/2BiOITZHC8I
8. Matrix make a 1u Power amp, supposed to be quite popular with guitarists who use AxeFx/Kemper modellers - so presumably quite a flat sound
9. Is starting now on Sky Arts 1
10. I don't have any bass regrets, I wouldn't mind having my Mayones custom Be4 back as it was built for me and I recorded my old band's album with it, but to be honest don't miss it. There is an amp I'd like back though, I traded my EBS Fafner with Shep on here when we moved to a smaller house, I didn't realise I wanted it back until he put it up for sale. I considered buying it, but better sense prevailed and I resisted; just got myself an HD350 though, so that's keeping me very happy.
11. I think he played most of the bass on the soundtrack for the Dreamgirls movie, some great playing on there.
12. We normally end the main set with something obvious - normally Sex On Fire or Sweet Child, then for an encore 500 Miles and/or Sweet Home Alabama, however actually ending the night on Under The Bridge. We found ending on something slower calms people down and reduces the requests for more and more songs.
13. Solved my lack of tweeter problem Just got back from Kiwi's where I picked up this beauty: [Img]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/Ghost_Upon_The_Stage/20150108_214223-1_zpsfjfmhd51.jpg" class="ipsImage" /> Looking forward to getting it out at gig volume

Sold a cab to Richard, all went through as should, top bloke.
15. If you can find one, the discontinued Pro4200 was a superb cab. Weighed about the same as a small moon, but sounded great and not expensive. I appreciate this may not be an awful lot of help though.
16. Your Lakland is a Bob Glaub isn't it? As I did essentially the same thing - swapped a Duck Dunn for an SB2 with no regrets........
17. Bargain, my main bass is a '95 SB2, and I paid more for it than this. It's an utter workhorse that handles anything I throw at it, good luck with the sale
18. Look forward to seeing it
19. At a guess I'd Stuart Zender as he played on the last Mark Ronson album and I think MD'd for him as well.
20. An extract from Get Lucky, with added dad dancing http://youtu.be/8reohRoXoA0
21. I'll give it some thought mate, but to be honest not really what I'm after; cheers though
22. I saw a mate's band using one of these a couple of week's ago, sounded great and held it's own in a four piece rock covers band with no PA support.
23.
I really love the look of this bass and have agonised over it but as woodinblack says you cannot try one. The neck is the unknown quantity here plus I prefer maple boards but the latter wouldn't put me off if it had a very low, rattle free action. Tricky this.
If anyone is interested in this and is local to me (RH19), you're welcome to try my US version to get a feel for it, they both have the same electronics and neck woods.
24. It helps with my lot that we are all well aware we have "sold out" and so pick songs that we think punters want to hear, rather than songs we listen home. Which is why my current suggestion list has Olly Murs, Meghan Trainor, Jessie J, Katy Perry and a Grease medley on it rather than the obscure doom I listen to or the 90s grunge the singer likes. Fortunately, it's a lot more fun playing these songs than it is listening to them
