BassChat Podcast Feedback & Discussion
Acebassmusic replied to Akio Dāku's topic in General Discussion
Well done! Putting together 2hrs of material is NOT a 2hr job so thank you everyone for the time and work you've put in. As a couple of people have mentioned above I would prefer 4 x 30 mins podcasts rather than one long one. Easier to track and digest. Other podcasts I've enjoyed listening to have contained a mixture of scripted and conversational type sections. Some people are really good at the unscripted podcasts. Me? If I tried it, it would just be an incoherent rambling mess -
I'm very happy to start a feedback thread for Thomas P who I've just traded my Warrior Signature for his Mike Lull. Good communications and very easy to deal with. Trading can be harder than selling as you don't have "cash in the bank" before you ship and its all done on trust. Thanks again Thomas. (The only problem was the courier signed for delivery of the bass himself and left it on the doorstep! Doh!)

Currently using a Sadowsky internal pre that I'm liking. I wasn't sure if I would like the boost only bass and treble but it is very useable. I've also started to like having a tone control that works in both active and passive mode. Slightly off topic..... traditional / usual layout of controls running from the neck towards the bridge would be vol, balance, treble, mid then bass. I've noticed a number of manufacturers have moved to bass, mid then treble....any logic to this or am I missing something?

Hi there ZombiPyrate. Welcome to Basschat and congratulations on learning to play the best instrument Have fun with it and I found the quickest way of learning is to get with others to play a few tunes. Scary to start with but mucho fun.

I used to have a Musicman Sabre with fretted and fretless Gordon necks. The fretless had a brass slap plate at the end of the fretboard which brightened up the slap sound a little but also protected the end of the fretboard. If I was going down the fretless route again I would have one fitted.

They do take a little bit of getting used to but worth persevering. I'd rather feel slightly isolated for short periods than very isolated 24/7 from not using them. YMMV :-)

+1000000000000000000000000000 In all the thousands of pounds I have spent over the years on different guitars, amps, pedals, cables etc I can easily say that the molded earplugs I have are the best money I've spent on musical equipment. No more ringing ears, discomfort etc. I can hear the band better. Mine are the earlier Elacin ER15's (about 10+ years old), still going strong but I'm thinking of treating myself to a new updated pair.

Strange....I'm on Win10 and currently using a 2496 PCI card. I can't get the MAudio software interface up but the card is running and I can access the SPDIF settings etc through Windows standard menus. (Just read your full post and notice you don't have a spare socket...oops)

I know who the seller was as he's a local musician. To be truthful I was just a little tempted myself :-)

Can you convert a 34" bass to a 35" scale ?
Acebassmusic replied to weepaul's topic in Repairs and Technical
You'd need to move the bridge......and all the frets! Best just buy a 35 if you really want one :-) -

As part of my ongoing equipment change out I have 1 pair of Bose MK II speakers complete with lids (all catches working). I have only used these as monitors (controlled by a DBX Driverack – not included) but they can be used as PA tops. With the curved front (120 degree dispersion) we found them great for monitoring as everyone could hear what was coming out, not just those stood directly in front. Nominal impedance: 8 ohms Power handling capacity 240W continuous pink noise, 55Hz – 16kHz Connectors: Two (2) parallel-wired retrofitted Speakon and two (2) parallel-wired male XLR connectors Dimensions 13" (H) x 201⁄2" (W) x 121⁄2" (D) (33 x 52 x 32 cm) Weight 34 lb (15.5 kg)
