I’m now asking £180 for the lot I’m currently changing out my lighting equipment and have 2 sets of Botex T4 Lighting showbar, par 56 cans, 300w bulbs, flightcases, cables & stands. They are fully working and come complete with Protex flight cases. The bars can be used independently and as a linked pair as well as being controlled using DMX. Information, manuals and pricing is easily available on the internet and the whole setup would have originally cost nearly £750. All the units and cases are in full, good working order.

I’m currently changing out my lighting equipment and have 2 x iMove IM-5S moving heads complete with Prolight flight cases, DMX cables, spare bulbs and install brackets. The heads can be used independently and as a pair but the most flexibility and control comes with the iSolution DMX controller included in the sale. Information, manuals and pricing is easily available on the internet and the whole setup would have originally cost nearly £900. All the units and cases are in full, good working order. I’m asking £240 for the lot

I use a Tecamp Puma 900 which has a "Taste" knob (who comes up with these names??) which allows you to dial in either a more old school or hi-fi tone. Or a Demeter HBP-1 800D but these are now direct from the USA (I think?)

Darned weather. I didn't manage to get to the show the last 2 years and was looking forward to this one.....but......due to weather etc I wont be able to go so my full weekend tickets available. ** London Bass Show Weekend Ticket ** Glad I hadn't booked flights and hotel in advance! For those who manage to get there I hope you all have a great time.....I'm off to build an igloo instead

Sometimes it can be a problem with the WIDTH of the nut slot. If the original gauge were a snug fit and then you fit thicker strings they wouldn't sit far enough down into the nut and could cause some buzz (it would tend to be only on open strings though)

Electric Violence anyone?
Acebassmusic replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Cant quite see the electric bit but I would agree with the violence.......if I tried playing it, it would be a severe attack on the hearing system! -
I've booked my ticket for this year but not my travel arrangements yet as I'm waiting to see what artists are going to be there. I really enjoyed my last few visits but currently it seems a very similar line up to previous years. I wish the organisers would release the full artist list earlier rather than this trickle they tend to do as I think many (like myself) who live outside of London need to plan in advance for transport and hotels etc. The closer it gets to the event the less likely I am to attend due to the increase in costs for late booking I am sure that there's a good marketing reason they drip feed us with "artist announcements" but to me at this late stage it always "appears" as if even they don't know who's going to be there! I can't think of any other musical event that I would go to without knowing the lineup! If I lived closer and could just jump on a local train or bus I would be at the show every time but when coming down for the full show could cost me near on £500 I start looking around at what GAS I can feed with that cash instead Anyway......semi-rant over and I've got my fingers crossed that I can still make it.

Just bought my first 6 string any advice appreciated
Acebassmusic replied to thebigyin's topic in General Discussion
I don't know how you play at the moment but with the above comments I would say make sure your left hand is anchored by the thumb being at the back of the neck and not hooked over the top of the fretboard. This opens the hand more and allows you to reach the strings etc easier. Have fun -
Here's my old 6'er that I traded a few years ago.... ....and my 5'er I traded it for

Christmas Songs Cheesey Rhythmic figure - does it have a name?
Acebassmusic replied to Sean's topic in Theory and Technique
It's a 6/8 rhythm that's used in a lot of different styles but I've mainly heard it called a "blues shuffle". Other examples - Stevie Ray Vaughn - Pride And Joy, Quo - Whatever You Want, -

Public apology to Bassman7755 and others
Acebassmusic replied to BassTractor's topic in General Discussion
I have not read the original thread so can't comment on it. However I applaud your ability to acknowledge that you may have offended someone and are willing to apologise for it. This is especially relevant on the internet where it seems that so many people are happy to troll etc. Good on ya -
I've gone for a slightly more compact cab option and so have decided to put my Barefaced Big Twin T up for sale / trade. I bought it brand new in Dec 2011. It has been gigged 20 times a year since then so hasn't been subjected to heavy use. It is therefore in very good condition with only superficial scratches on the handles. The cab comes with a very well made Falcon padded cover. There is some damage to the bottom back edge of the cover where our guitarist decided to pull the cab along on its wheels trapping the cover underneath (4 days after receiving the cover)!!!! Dimensions 36" high x 21" wide x 16" deep 90cm x 53cm x 40cm Weight: 55 lbs (26kg) Broadband Sensitivity: 98dB Recommended Amp Power: 300-1500W RMS Maximum LF & Broadband Output: 127dB Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms I got an estimated cost of shipping at approx. £30 uninsured from Aberdeen to London. Here's a review that a Basschat member did of his Big Twin T - Big Twin T Review by Pantherairsoft No Treble link - Big Twin T
