1. I'm pleased to start a feedback thread for Michel. I sold him my Wood & Tronics Chronos 5 string and shipped it to Germany. The deal was easy with fast payment and great communications. Great buyer whom I would recommend
2. pmjos, let me try and deconstruct the concept and propose that the disruption to the space time continuum can be re-aligned by applying physicist Albert Einstein's theory of special relativity E = mc2 All it needs is to substitute the following into the equation and voila all is right with the world again.... E = enjoyment m = money c = courier (squared)
3.
This happens to me almost every time I look at BassChat for over 15 minutes. Just like everyone else it just kicks in when I'm on BC. I'm running Windows 10 Home on the PC with Firefox as the browser (with or without an ad blocker it stills happens). I use my Norton Antivirus / SpyWare scan immediately afterwards and as others have pointed out, it doesn't pick anything up. I'm also making sure to delete the temporary files as part of this process. Most strange and it's also getting somewhat aggravating.
Same for me but I use IE11. Its getting to be several times a day
4. I'm looking for 5's ( maybe 6's). Amazing list of basses you have but nothing that jumps out at me. Thanks.
5. I'm afraid testicles are not legal currency in Scotland at the present time.
6. 5'ers mainly but might be persuaded by the right 6'er
7. Here’s something you don’t see up for sale everyday……a Ritter! Not only that, it’s a 10th Anniversary Limited Edition from 2007……and its number 1 of 10. I have taken great care of this bass and it in mint condition only having had light use. I am the second owner and bought the bass in July 2008. It comes with the original certificate of authenticity, truss rod tools and lightweight Ritter case as shown in one of the links below. I'm open to partial / full trades. Lets see what ya' got. The Roya has a one piece quilted redwood top, one piece flamed maple back. The flame maple back is by far the most 3d piece of flamed maple I've seen. Flamed maple neck with an ebony fretboard and a 24K solid gold sword inlay at the 12th fret. The electronics are active / passive. 9. I've just sold and shipped my Dr Bass 2460 bass cab to Mark. Smooth deal, quick payment, great comms. I'm a happy chappy. I hope he has forgiving neighbours as he's pairing it with a Barefaced cab
10. I've been rooting through some of my old stuff and came across some PC parts that I no longer need. They can be yours for the cost of the postage Asus GEForce EN6600LE Silencer 256MB graphics card 2 x 2GB DDR2 RAM PC6400 DIMM (EasyRAM) Mike
11. I have 2 rack cases for sale (or trade) - 2 SKB 4U lightweight. They're in pretty good nick apart from the odd knock and marks which is to be expected as thats their job I'm looking for £35 each. Have a look at the photos and let me know if you're interested. 12.
My old bass teacher had a 4 string bass where the neck was fretless after the 7th fret. Never seen another like it.
Sounds logical to me to save money on fret wire. Doesn't doctrine dictate that "thou shalt not venture above the 5th or the infidel shall feel the wrath" ? Right then....I'm off back to the "flat earth" thread......
13. The SKB ATA bass cases are supposed to be pretty good. http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?f=&id=13&o=&c=84&s=

15. I went to a gig at in Aberdeen last week and the band were individually and together excellent musicians. The overall sound was as you say vocals, guitar, drums, KICK and flubby mush. When the drummer stopped using (or held back) on the kick / floor tom you could hear the bass and it sounded great. When the kick came in again it just overpowered all the low end......grrrr
16.
With all gear matters, trust your head rather than your heart - the opposite of musical decisions!
Absolute blasphemy! Does this mean I have to come up with REASONS based on FACT to buy that extra bass instead of FEAR (Feeble Excuses And Reasoning) to feed my GAS?
17. I sold some Ken Smith strings to Xavier. Good deal, quick payment etc. happy chappy's all around.
18. I have 12 unused Ken Smith top C strings (0.028") for sale. The have all come from TCRM sets (stainless round wound) and are still in their original packets. Price includes UK shipping. I can post a pic if people want.....but they look like strings
19. I don't have an issue with musical competitions per se as I was brought up playing brass instruments and it was common practice to enter competitions either as a solo, duo, quartet etc or full band. The pieces were set by the adjudicators prior to the event so everyone payed the same piece. Although the music was scripted it was up to each entrant to practise and interpret the piece their way. They were then marked on tone, technique, dynamics, tempo and overall interpretation. If we'd only been assessed on simply how fast, complex or popular a piece was, it would have missed the point. At a sports day its pretty easy to assess who is the winner as its usually 1 dimensional against a known standard eg: time, distance, points etc. Music is much more complex and subjective as to how it moves each listener differently. If there is to be any musical competition I think it has to be carefully thought out - what are the judges going to assess, how will they do it, how will they feed their comments back and what is the aim of the contest. If in my case the contests were set up to encourage me to practice and work towards a goal in a constructive manor, great. If in cases like the X-Factor its just a money mill that I don't feel encourages people into music then....nah. Not for me. :-)
20. DR Bass DRB 2460 Full Range Bass Cab SOLD I’ve had this cab for the last 3 years and have gigged it, alternating with my Barefaced. The DR 2460 is very well built with a very tough Duratex finish which shows very few marks from use. I’ve found the bottom end to be tight and sound clear and balanced all the way up the frequencies. The top end is clear without being aggressive or abrasive. Both the mids and highs can be adjusted + or – with the controls on the side of the cab. This isn’t the lightest cab on the market but because of its compact shape and side handles is pretty easy to shift around. There's no cover with it. [s]For a shipping guide price I got a quick quote from Interparcel (based on assumed packed dims and weight) and assumed shipping from Aberdeen to London and it came out at £18 with UPS.[/s] Reason for selling…..GAS of course! I’ve seen something else I would like to try and it was either sell this or my Barefaced. 2 x 12" 400W drivers (Eminence Delta 12B) 1 x 6” 150W mid range driver 1 x 3” horn Separate High and Mid level controls Power handling 800 watts rms Impedance 8 ohms 2 x 1/4" and 2 x Speakon connectors Frequency response: 43hz - 20khz Weight: 65lbs / 29.5kg Dimensions 24.5” x 21.5” x 15” (62cm x 55cm 38cm) Heres a link to the photos which I will try and embed once I work out which photo host is best to use now since Picasa decided to change. :-( https://goo.gl/photo...op9rwCRqWLxvx88 Any questions just ask.
21. Started my PC up this morning and all is well??? I hadn't noticed any different adverts at all that might have caused it.
