I vaguely remember that photo 🤔 Could it have been Nick Smith?

Just bought a wireless system off Steve. Easy deal and he kept me updated all the way. Thanks 👍

I seem to have inherited the duties yet again for my most recent band (and for the previous band I set up and ran for 15 years). This was because none of the front persons felt comfortable doing it (ones a teacher so no problem speaking to large groups!) As @lowregisterhead says having some sort of interaction with the audience is part of the show however I tend to keep my waffle to a minimum because: 1) Very few people can hear what most between song chat is about. I find most people mumble into the mic as well. 2) Very few people care what most between song chat is about unless its "the buffet is open" or "last orders". 3) We are more of a party band than introverted singer songwriter that tells what has inspired them....also see 1 and 2 above 🤣 4) I try and keep any comments to be about the music / event / venue and away from politics, religion, football or any controvesy for obvious reasons. This usually reduces the chance of a dispute over things said. Our setlist is grouped into 4 or 5 songs which we play close together. A very short break between groupings is then used for changing guitars / settings etc whilst I introduce the band / thank people for coming / social media stuff / random fact about a song / thank dancers & staff etc. I have notes on my setlist for these sort of comments & the venue name etc. All very regular stuff which if you think about it and write yourself appropriate notes beforehand makes the job easier. The more you do it the more you can come off script and ad-lib / interact with the audience.

I've just bought some Straploks from Ed and it was an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy (technical term 🤣) deal. Thanks. 👍

Oi, I'll have you know we dont live in the arse end of civilisation.....but we can certainly see it from here! 🤣🤣

Welcome Reiver from another north of the border bassist 👍

I've been looking around for a compact yet more substantial case for my Anagram and came across THIS case on Fleabay in the UK. I have no connection with the seller but thought some of you might be interested in it. I also wanted it to hold my MVave midi pedal and the Anagram power supply. It seems well built with the only drawback being the inner foam which is a bit flimsy. I'll be changing that out at some point. Here some pics of my process to fit the Anagram etc in it.

Just updating my Anagram whilst I write this......its great that Darkglass are releasing more blocks, woohoo! It's just a pity that they are all grit / distortion / fuzz / overdrive 😒 There's already quite a selection of these to choose from on the Anagram. I would have thought adding such as a phaser, tremelo, ambient or a "MXR bass synth" type pedal block would have increased the appeal to a wider market. 🤷♂️ I hope some more varied blocks are released in the future.

Aaaw, wow! Thank you for those kind words and I'm glad I could be of help 👍 Does that mean you can say "truss rod adjustment" without breaking out in a sweat? 🤣🤣

Well they have arrived and I've stopped grumbling about the VAT "mistake". They landed much sooner than they said they would, it should have been nearer the 10th and it was the 4th 👍 I'm very pleased with the quality and feel of them. The purple front has a "classy" look / feel we wanted and the rear has our contact details / QR code printed clearly. 👍

Warwick. Springs under knobs.
Acebassmusic replied to goingdownslow's topic in Repairs and Technical
I thought the springs on stacked knobs were to help with grounding? 🤔🤷♂️ -
OK, had a look at the Darkglass Suite again today and as far as I can see you cannot create patches in there. You can select a patch and interrogate the settings but thats it. On feature which I would find good (like the Headrush I had) is to be able to save a pedals settings to a unique filename that can be loaded into a new patch. I know I can write the pedal settings down and enter them by hand in a new patch but this would be so much simpler and quicker.

Bass Direct have just posted they have some in......

Looks like I'm making headway into liking all 5,000,000 Basschat posts.....I've just been made a "Grand Master" (whatever that is? 🤷♂️) 🤣🤣

Recently I ordered some cards from Printed.com I needed quickly. Pricing looked good so I went throught the process of artwork / create account / upload / payment details etc etc. Got to the very end and the price for 250 had gone up from £21 to £30 🤔 I hadn't realised the initial price was ex-VAT (which was also added to the shipping cost) No idea on the quality of them as they havent arrived yet.

@woodyratm Ah yes, I saw that after I'd asked the question, which then made sense. 👍

How do you know these things???? 😮 No, really....where can I find this info as I only seem to find out after releases / updates and have no idea of whats coming up?
-
Not really....it just sounds like I do! 🤣

I use a fret guard and fret eraser to keep mine clean. Not as highly polished as a Dremmel but good enough for me. I like the way the eraser gets a groove which then cleans more of the fret easier.

I mainly use it to backup the presets I have created just in case of user stupidity! 🤣 I've also checked out some other user presets from the Hub to see how certain combinations of pedals sound and also use as a basis for some of my presets.

I find the Suite a bit clunky and not that intuitive but have got used to it. I've not tried to create any patches in the Suite....is this a function as Ive not really looked? 🤷♂️ All my patches have been created directly on the Anagram as its so easy. I hope you persevere and get used to it as it is a great unit.

I notice a lot of you are using the Anagram as part of a pedalboard setup which needs a power source with more capacity. I use mine on its own so dont need extra power. I've kept the original Darkglass wall wart as a backup and use this Mooer power supply which I bought and used for the last 15 years and its still going strong. No hiss or glitches from it at all. Yes, I took the plunge and bought it. I tend to have a rotation on my basses as I like buying, trying and then after a while moving them on for the next flavour. Sometimes I'm impressed and keep them for longer (current longest one I have is 12 years) and sometimes it just doesnt gel for whatever reason. I'm not often badly dissapointed and its a fun learning curve. The lightweight isnt a problem and it balances well on a strap. 👍 Yeah I have noticed its still for sale. 🤷♂️ The Gallery tend not to update their webpages as often as they should, either for sold instruments (mainly) or new ones they have in for sale.

Thank you 👍 I started using DILLIGAF years ago at work during a meeting where one person was using so many TAFLA's (Three And Four Letter Acronyms) that I decided to drop into the conversation both TAFLA and DILLIGAF. There ensued a slightly puzzled look but they made out they understood (but didnt) and carried on the conversation. My team members who knew what they meant had trouble keeping straight faces. 🤣🤣
