  1. I like them both. Easy on the ears and plenty of interesting parts to follow. Reading the band members list made me smile 🤣 Is that your real name "Cardigan Fitzbadley"? 🤣 The Roster: BVs: Deanna Lead guitar: Johnny Bandit Acoustic & electric guitars: Hardliegh Worthit Bass: Cardigan Fitzbadley Keys: Dr Conquest Drums and percussion: Justin Thyme
  2. In about 2005 I needed a new "office seat" for home use and after using a KAB Controller office chair at work for a few years I decided to take the plunge. Most other office chairs I've had or used ended up being uncomfortable or just dropping to bits. The KAB isn't cheap at about £1,000 but is VERY adjustable with height, tilt, weight, headrest adjust, lumbar air support etc. After 20+ years of daily general use it is still in great fully functional condition and you can get spares. Note: from 2020 I worked from home as well so thats 12hrs per day, 7 days per week. The arms also pivot up so I can use it to play bass on as well 👍
  3. I may have missed a thread on this years show......how was it? I used to go to the bass show when it was on and really enjoyed it.
  4. Aaaargh! I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram. I don't need a back up Anagram......or should I ? 🤔🤣
  5. Have you tried the vinyl wrap on its own, just cut to the shape of a plate and attached direct to the bass body?
  6. Especially tort.....🤣 Double sided tape is a good idea for trying / changing plates without lasting damage to a bass. As others have said this may not be the best if it isnt a poly finish. I used double sided tape on a Lull I had. Both looked good but I decided "why have a lovely quilt finish and then cover it with a £10 piece of plastic?" If you're just looking to protect the finish then one cheap alternative I use on the backs of all my basses is a screen protector (these) which I cut to shape. Dont buy the tempered ones....they just shatter when trying to cut.....guess how I know? I've also used it on the front of my old Ritter. The one in the photo had been used for quite a while so did show some lifting on the lower edge, but its easily replaced. The Lakland shows the protector on the back. I don't know if they would be OK on a nitro bass finish. Just a random thought....has anyone used vinyl wrap for a scratchplate?
  7. I have the 800w powered version of this and they are really good, musical amps. Love mine. GLWTS 👍
  8. Yes it is 👍 It's very easy to play, nice neck profile, weight and balance. Its also very flexible tone wise. I don't normally use the neck pickup on its own but with this one I'm quite happy to. I've used it in both my classic rock and soul / funky bands and it fits in great with all of them. I've decided not to use it in the rock band any more as they still have Sex on Fire in the set and as such don't deserve the Elrick! 🤣 Thank you and you're right I have had some stunning basses over the years (way above my pay grade!) and this one is one of the very best!
  9. Hearing you on some of your videos helped me decide to give it a chance and I bought it untried. Thanks.
  10. Usual "in's" and "out's" at the "Acebass Musical Equipment Temporary Storage & Refuge Facility" 🤣 Like others, I've not had any "bad" purchases but have 3 that really stand out and work for me: my Elrick Evolution Gold V, Anagram multi-fx and MVave Chocolate Plus midi foot switch. I'm a happy bunny that doesnt see me wanting to change any of my gear until at least a week on Tuesday! 😮🤣🤣
  11. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  12. You dont see too many of these out in the wild! Are you sure its a bridge PU as it says neck on the underside?
  13. These are highly underrated basses for their price range (or even higher). I really like mine 👍😁
  14. Great cabs these. I have one that I use in a loud rock band with 2 guitars......don't be fooled by "it's just a 2 x 10"....it's no shrinking violet! 👍
  15. I vaguely remember that photo 🤔 Could it have been Nick Smith?
  16. Just bought a wireless system off Steve. Easy deal and he kept me updated all the way. Thanks 👍
  17. I seem to have inherited the duties yet again for my most recent band (and for the previous band I set up and ran for 15 years). This was because none of the front persons felt comfortable doing it (ones a teacher so no problem speaking to large groups!) As @lowregisterhead says having some sort of interaction with the audience is part of the show however I tend to keep my waffle to a minimum because: 1) Very few people can hear what most between song chat is about. I find most people mumble into the mic as well. 2) Very few people care what most between song chat is about unless its "the buffet is open" or "last orders". 3) We are more of a party band than introverted singer songwriter that tells what has inspired them....also see 1 and 2 above 🤣 4) I try and keep any comments to be about the music / event / venue and away from politics, religion, football or any controvesy for obvious reasons. This usually reduces the chance of a dispute over things said. Our setlist is grouped into 4 or 5 songs which we play close together. A very short break between groupings is then used for changing guitars / settings etc whilst I introduce the band / thank people for coming / social media stuff / random fact about a song / thank dancers & staff etc. I have notes on my setlist for these sort of comments & the venue name etc. All very regular stuff which if you think about it and write yourself appropriate notes beforehand makes the job easier. The more you do it the more you can come off script and ad-lib / interact with the audience.
  18. I've just bought some Straploks from Ed and it was an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy (technical term 🤣) deal. Thanks. 👍
  19. Oi, I'll have you know we dont live in the arse end of civilisation.....but we can certainly see it from here! 🤣🤣
  20. Welcome Reiver from another north of the border bassist 👍
  21. I've been looking around for a compact yet more substantial case for my Anagram and came across THIS case on Fleabay in the UK. I have no connection with the seller but thought some of you might be interested in it. I also wanted it to hold my MVave midi pedal and the Anagram power supply. It seems well built with the only drawback being the inner foam which is a bit flimsy. I'll be changing that out at some point. Here some pics of my process to fit the Anagram etc in it.
  22. Just updating my Anagram whilst I write this......its great that Darkglass are releasing more blocks, woohoo! It's just a pity that they are all grit / distortion / fuzz / overdrive 😒 There's already quite a selection of these to choose from on the Anagram. I would have thought adding such as a phaser, tremelo, ambient or a "MXR bass synth" type pedal block would have increased the appeal to a wider market. 🤷‍♂️ I hope some more varied blocks are released in the future.
  23. Aaaw, wow! Thank you for those kind words and I'm glad I could be of help 👍 Does that mean you can say "truss rod adjustment" without breaking out in a sweat? 🤣🤣
  24. Well they have arrived and I've stopped grumbling about the VAT "mistake". They landed much sooner than they said they would, it should have been nearer the 10th and it was the 4th 👍 I'm very pleased with the quality and feel of them. The purple front has a "classy" look / feel we wanted and the rear has our contact details / QR code printed clearly. 👍
  25. I thought the springs on stacked knobs were to help with grounding? 🤔🤷‍♂️
