1. Lovely looking Ric! The one I tried out a couple of years ago was just like this, but the fretboard was nowhere near this stunning
2. At those prices you might even be better off buying both and sending back the one you don't like... Who knows, you might be able to get something special combining the two!
3.
The thing is a lot of shop/office workers will fall for it and capitulate. Fair enough, lose £2.50 for good customer relations, but £117 x 10 units! Not going to happen
You can bet I wouldn't honour it!
4.
They went mental about trading standards and false advertising.
I love when people get all high and mighty about this. Or when they say they will "see you in court" over something like £30
5. It sounds like the store assistant was trying to regain some control by making it sound like he was doing you a favour, instead of saying "Oh sorry, my mistake" ... I mean what was he going to do otherwise? Argue with you and lose a sale altogether? :
6. I'm still really tempted to get a VT bass and see if I prefer it to the Programmable Sansamp... It's not like I don't have 3 other drive pedals on the board to play with
7. Fantastic deal! I paid £250 for mine
8. I agree, send it back! Thomann have good customer service from what I've heard, and there's no use wasting your money repairing something that you only just bought.
9. It was either the SVT 3 Pro, or the 7 Pro. Absolutely bloody awful tone, and no volume whatsoever!
10. Fair enough mate, if I hadn't already bought a bass and a laptop this month I'd probably have had it anyway! Sure it won't be here for long anyway, I've heard nothing but Homer Simpson-esque drooling sound effects about these amps
11. Bloody hell this is tempting... You wouldn't trade for a Markbass F1 by any chance??
12. Tech 21 VT Bass will do the job!
13. I clicked on this hoping it would be a rant about a dodgy seller
14. Peavey used to do this with their Cirrus custom shop, wasted far too many hours on that!
15. For me, it's any bass with passive electronics and a low enough action!
16.
I go buy a new cab?
17. Try the King Billy, they have bands on all the time!
18. Definitely black!
19.
Look up the definition of 'omnidirectional'. Not only is port output omnidirectional, so is that from the cones up to about 200Hz.
I assumed everything was directional, and rear ports worked on reflections and if the cab was touching the floor or not. Good to know!
20. Welcome!! The true test is managing to acquire more basses than you actually need and not getting a telling off
21. I always thought front ports had more "throw" but I'm hardly technical minded
22. The markbass 104HF is a huge 4x10 and the low end on it is ridiculous!
23. I just ordered 20 Grolsch washers in BLACK for a fiver. Cheers Musky!
24. Sometimes a really subtle effect makes anyone REALLY good even if you can't really tell what actual effect is being used very well. I like a light overdrive over the whole signal with a clean blend, mixed with high gain over a more select frequency range
25. Diago plugs are a lot smaller than they look. You have to make sure you make them properly though, I did a shoddy job on one and it cuts out and I'm too lazy to pull my pedalboard apart to fix it
