1.
Without gigging how do you get any attention from the opposite sex?
I only ever seem to get "chatted up" by blokes at the end of gigs
2.
Surely the best solution is to buy another pedal (or 2)
Problem solved!
3.
Still begs the question why the one manufactured in a cheaper labour market cost me the exact same as the European built one though...
Funnily enough a lot of the standard cabs are for sale on GAK and other online stores for noticeably less than I bought my old 104HF for so maybe they have passed the savings onto the customers after all!
4. ...Or you could also support the site by buying an uber fancy BC shirt!
5. Apparently, quality wise they are identical. The difference being the power handling (and possibly volume), and that they use standard speakers instead of neo. They will be heavier. No idea if the sound will be the same, but a lot of people say neo speakers have more prominent upper mids so they MAY not cut through the mix in the same way. I'd still wager they cut above many cabs in their price range though.
6. Happy selling buddy! Just try not to do what the rest of us do, and end up buying more stuff when you're supposed to be thinning out your colelction
7.
Anyone tried these Ibanez Strings ?? http://www.stringsdi...guitar-strings/ Wondered if they're new or just repackaged by Ibanez?
I always thought Ibanez SR series basses arrived strung with Elixirs... If these are made by Elixir they're an absolute bargain!
8. Hey man Selling items with a value under £50 is free, if you'd like to sell one item over that there's a small fee of £7... or £20 for a year of unlimited listings. Considerably cheaper than placing an ad anywhere else! Other than that, access all areas is free
9. Great pictures! That's one of the coolest looking stages I've seen in a while
10. No idea... But I used to own a Shine SB26 which I think is identical... I have to say I loved that bass too!!
11.
forgot his bass....
Ha! I'm more than happy to lend my cab or amp to somebody, but my basses and pedals are just for me!!
12. In the rare event that I play gigs with other bands I've been really lucky. I've been asked to lend my amp/cab a fair few times in the last few years, but it's always been with plenty of notice before the actual date! By the way dave, was your Matamp ok?!?!
13. Apparently the new drivers are made to the exact spec of the old B&C ones... And with how passionate Marco is I doubt there'd be any difference!
14. Oh GAS... Why must you plague me so!!
15.
Try Cleartone strings - although these are nickel and it looks like they don't do steel sets: http://www.stringsdi...r-strings-6445/
Xildxx said that these are the same as Warwick EMP but nickel. Tried the EMPs and they definitely do feel a bit more 'natural' than Elixirs! More emphasis in a low mid growl than the high mid you usually get from steels... But they sound incredible on a low B!
16.
I tried Elixir strings on my bass and was disappointed. I found them to be greasy to the touch and not as bright as I would have liked. The guitar strings are a totally different beast. They sound awesome and last for ages. I like the thought of coated strings, but aint found any that sound as good as Rotosound stainless , so will have to keep experimenting
I like D'Addario Prosteels and found the Elixirs to sound quite similar to those. Never liked Rotos myself so it makes sense why our opinions on the Elixirs differ! I actually quite like the slightly silkier feel to the Elixirs.... took some getting used to but it's much better than the friction burn I'm currently getting from coated DRs!!!
17.
Thats the thing mate, they have to be fresh to get anything other than a dull bassy tone. I appreciate that flats are good for some kinds of music. I think folk are not really getting the irony I had when I typed my statement. I apologise if I have annoyed anyone who loves flats. I just love rounds....stainless steel rounds
I agree entirely to be fair. I use coated stainless steel strings so that my bass tone stays obnoxious and offensive for months and months
18. Steve Harris uses flats, they can sound great as long as they're fresh!
19. I'm pretty sure a few people have emailed them and they've said it wouldn't be possible to update due to the processor power needed for some effects. Would be great though!
20. My mum also needed a laptop so I acted as the middle man. Great service once again and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!
21.
"Darling, I TRIED to sell the bass. I listed it at just over a quarter for what it goes for new. It's the economy... You don't want me to give it away do you?"
That explains it!
22. Skim read about 1/3 of the way down and my brain seriously hurts.
23.
Im thinking about tuning 3 steps down to B E A D. Will a 50-110 gauge set be alright for this or should I look at heavier gauges? Also, should my bass be re-setup to accomodate the difference in tension?
Generally, you'd want to use the bottom 4 strings from a 5 string set, so a B string between 125 to 135 gauge. Of course it depends on whether you like lighter gauge strings and the scale length of your bass! And yeah, you'd generally want to adjust the intonation and the neck relief for a different tuning
24. In my experience, Markbass heads sound good through pretty much any cab! I'm really loving mine through the Peavey Pro 410, sits in a metal mix better than the Markbass 410 (basically, a more pleasing low/midrange presence)
