1.
Oh yeah, and polishes up a treat .
That much is clearly obvious from the pics!!
2.
so many knobs and switches to mess around with I could never settle.
Those are the basses that I prefer. Passive basses with a boat load of knobs and switches. More things to turn on full!!!
3. Playing with other musicians really helped me learn a whole different way, and it's very motivating too... and more fun. Do it!!
4. The DI on my F1 is awesome, I never let any sound technician use their own DI and that's been the case since I got the amp 5 years ago!
5. I've got a backpack with a little padded laptop slot in it (which I use to transport my Markbass head). It's got plenty of compartments for leads, strings, batteries, tools, cans of energy drink and a few spare pairs of pants etc
6.
http://www.ebay.co.u...e-/281275947130
Legend, thanks! hooray for black Grolsch washers!!
7. The red Grolsch ones are excellent but I don't use them because (yes this is very sad) they're a bit too.... well... red! I use one of the Dunlop ones on one of my basses which took FOREVER to put on, and the rest are all 'naked'. I'd love to find out where to get some black ones without paying far too much for some that say 'Fender' on them
8. That is absolutely gorgeous work on the body. Well done!!
9. Heard mixed reviews about the piezo tweeters to be fair. The 1" compression drivers in the STD series cabs are awesome though, they don't have that harsh brittleness that pretty much every other tweeter in the bass world has!
10.
+1 The power of the internet and Basschat has brought us to a happy ending. Similar to the Mark Bass thread where we got the CEO joining in.
Yep! That was a great result

GAK

I got my first proper bass amp from GAK 8 years ago which stopped working and they did exactly the same for me. Good to know their customer service is still as good as ever!
12. Glad you're happy with it! The best thing about markbass amps is the vpf and vle filters. They give you pretty much every tone imaginable
13. Distance selling regulations are different to your rights with regards to faulty items so they either don't know what they're talking about or they're trying to rip you off.
14. I set mine so that it never clips no matter what I do. I compress/limit the hell out of my signal anyway so I wouldn't want any more
15. Bought one of his laptops last week. Communication was spot on, and it was clear when it would be sent before I'd paid. Arrived in great condition when I was told to expect it. No problems here!
16.
i tried the one with the seymour duncan 1/4 lbers , cant remember the model number but it was a pj and around £330 , it was awesome, great action/playability and sounded massive too, if i was looking for a cheap backup bass that would be it.
Peavey Zodiac DE Scorpio. Amazing bass for the money. There was one for sale on here recently.
17. Absolutely! The modern Grind basses with the new chunkier bridge can't go as low on the action as I'd personally like (I like it fret rattingly low) but they're very well made basses. Milleniums are pretty good, but would feel quite cheap compared to your Warwicks. Go for a USA model if you can find one as they feel more solid and well made.
18. Big rigs look cool, and give you extra headroom, what's not to like?
19.
Graphic Fuzz Holy Stain Hot Tubes 'Muff' variants 'Mistress' variants 'Finger' variants Ravish Ring Thing Satisfaction Screaming Bird Wiggler Worm ....I think you may be right
I never realised how many dodgy names they had for their products
20. Hahahaha oh man!
21.
I thought Elixir strings were nickel ?
You can get both. I think I threw a spanner in the works by mentioning the steels specifically when talking about fretted basses!
22. I convinced myself that stainless steel elixirs wear the frets less quickly than uncoated steels. I could be talking out of my arse but it's possible!
23. I bought one of these from OBBM the other week for £20 and it was well worth every penny (and more), these won't be here long!
24. Fantastic news! Despite the initial issues it sounds like Dawsons have taken customer service very seriously which is really important these days
25. As far as nickel strings go my favourites are Ernie Ball or D'Addario. The D'Addarios seemed to last a lot longer!
