1. Marco said that all the components have remained the same, including the speakers.. so that's a plus. I'd love to know where the extra weight has come from.
2. I can't get over that slogan We say it loud: “re-tested in Italy”!!!
3. After my gig on Sunday I was told that I play the bass like a guitar. I don't know how I feel about that
4. Cheers Jono, I was just about to post that reply! I'm glad they finally gave us a response but it still doesn't sit right with me. I'm now using Peavey cabinets
5. Definitely OBBM, incredible value considering the quality, which is the highest standard I've ever seen in a cable. He uses Klotz cabling and neutrik plugs if I remember rightly.
6. Lots of good advice on here! When I play my bass unaccompanied the tone is very harsh in the upper mids and treble. It doesn't sound particularly musical, but in a full band mix it really works! I set myself a little rule where I can only tweak my sound ad rehearsals or sound check, because oftentimes a tone that sounds great solo either won't sound right in the mix, or will disappear completely!
7.
What can I say? I guess I just don't like cheesy, gutless pseudo-metal which is completely lacking in dynamics and features a singer who sounds like Bon Jovi acting hard after a shandy or two.
Dream Theater used to be my favourite band but this is a brilliant description
8. Great price for a great sounding rig that will be enough for any gig! I loved my R5 2x10 combo and that was £300 alone. Good luck with the sale!
9. I prefer to be on the drummer's right, even though I was told in college it's supposed to be the other way round to make it easier to make eye contact with him. There's no real reason for it either I just seem to prefer that side. The one time I stood in the middle of the stage I ended up getting twatted in the face with a guitar headstock EDIT: No, it wasn't because I was the vocalist and deserved it
10.
Dont think its a problem to mention Rickenbackers in passing, just dont try and sell one.(Mods correct me if I'm wrong)
Any Rick content is cool whether it be pictures, discussions or whatever. As long as it's not a sale or a link to one
11. Ridiculous bargain. This bass sounds incredible!
12. Flatwounds would do it!
13.
...a couple of points...
Really good points too! I'd have been shocked if I was watching it live, but looking at it that way it makes perfect sense.
14.
will keep an eye on the for sale section here. Assume I will get better vfm in used
Absolutely! have a scout about in the For Sale section and try your hardest not to buy everything
15. My first proper bass amp was a Laney 2x10 combo, it was sufficient for most gigs and the tone was great. Boosted a little midrange at 1.3k and it really cut through with some tasty growl. Peavey are Peavey, great tone, loud and indestructible!
16. My cover band play in 3 different tunings. Eb, drop C#, and drop B. I play one bass for the first two tunings, just retuning the bottom string, then for the drop B stuff I just play a 5 or 6 string in standard tuning. Swapping basses and checking tuning can be done in seconds now I'm used to it. ...though I have forgotten to swap before and had to improvise
17. Its happened to me a few times on a long gig. I figured out in my case it was dehydration.
18. When you get more comfortable playing, you'll be able to move your hand in the split second it takes to get to that other note without over stretching. I frequently go from using my middle finger around the 7th / 8th fret to using my index finger on the 1st fret and it doesn't sound at a'll messy. Just takes time!
19. I have one of these as my main gigging bass at the moment, bloody love it! Good luck with the sale
20. These rock. A P, J, and a Ray all in one!
21. "Twin necked" Has no neck.
22. £200 will go a long way! I've bought many quality basses under that price. Peavey come highly recommended. There's an excellenrt USA Foundation for sale at the moment for £175 that I've been fighting off buying!
23.
£192.78 The seller aught to be quite happy with that
Did you get it??
24. I can see those becoming very common. They look really good!
25. 4 hours left and it's at £113! Is someone on here bidding on it for parts or a project then? If so, I'd love to see the results!
