I'm wondering if we'll get to see all, or indeed any, of these in the UK. I don't think Peavey's last lightweight bass amp (the Headliner 600) ever made it to this side of the pond.
The Headliner cabs did, but they cost about 5x as much
KOSMOS has been around for a while - it's on my Tour750. I pressed that button once to see what it did. I'm sure someone must like it, but I've never pressed that button again.

OK, perhaps KOSMOS is just an octaver, and the psychoacoustic enhancement is a separate feature that has no name? Ok Peavey, you have confused me now!
Haha! I think I was referring to the psychoacoustic enhancement to be honest. KOSMOS sounds like that useless 'Ultrabass' feature you get on Behringer amps

After many happy years I've finally decided to sell my beloved Markbass STD 104HF It's an amazing cab, super loud, super clear, and at just over 65lbs even I can lift it right above my head with ease. As mentioned in the title, it is one of the Italian made ones, which is lighter and potentially better quality than all the new line which are being made in Indonesia. It has 2 combination speakon/Jack sockets on the back, so will work with whatever speaker cables you currently use. It's in excellent condition, never had any problems with it, only a few scuffs on the plastic corners. I'll get plenty of photos up over the weekend. Specs below: 8 ohm version SPEAKER SIZE: 4x10 in. BASS PORTS: Front TWEETER: 1" compression driver with custom horn POWER HANDLING: 800W RMS (AES Standard) CROSSOVER FREQUENCY: 3.5 kHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 35 Hz to 20 kHz SENSITIVITY: 103 dB SPL WEIGHT: 65.92 lbs / 29.9 kg WIDTH: 23.39 in. / 59.4 cm HEIGHT: 29.13 in. / 73.9 cm DEPTH: 18.9 in. / 48 cm I'm looking for £550 Collection is preferred, but willing to come to an arrangement on meeting up. I travel between Willenhall and Stoke on Trent regularly. Thanks for looking!

Anything under £500 and I'll be snapping one up the second they become available I reckon!

OH MY GOD YOU CAN CHANGE THE COLOUR OF THE LIGHTS! *has a massive camp moment*

I love the look of that Mini Mega! Nice to see Peavey bringing out lightweight gear at last! And the KOSMOS thing is a really nice addition. I think I've found a replacement for my Markbass F1
that 105 can sometimes get a little slack...
I've got a 105 tuned to Eb, and it just about manages C#. I've just switched to round cored DRs which feel a little floppier. Maybe if your bass has the option of stringing through bridge or body, you cab just have the one string through the body to make it feel less loose?

Peavey bass identification and value - any help please

Almost normal? You're too kind The marketplace section here is an excellent place to buy or sell! And it'll only set you back £20 to post unlimited ads for a year so a lot kinder on the wallet than eBay just be wary that you don't end up buying more than you sell... We all do it -
Just reviewing stuff again - the 45-107 gauges are all very well, but looking at the measured tensions of each strings, a 110 string tuned to E looks like it would be a closer tension to a 45 G string. Why the addition of a 'new' gauge?
Maybe they're factoring compliance into it as well? I got a custom balanced tension set of Newtones for my 6 string, and the low A string was too tight, and the top strings felt much more flexible, perhaps a little too much!

There's a start! Now you only have to choose between four

I haven't had an active bass for years! I prefer the feel of passive, and I no longer cause myself embarrassment by taking my bass apart when it stops working when all I needed to do was remember to change the battery!
-
When I got my Jack system, it came with a Jack lead, but not a pouch. I'm assuming the Jack lead was just to go from the receiver to the amp.
-
I've never used it with an active bass before so I can't comment on that, but the guys at Stageclix do strongly recommend using the pack to avoid interference.
What you can't easily replace I'd say are the Yamaha (custom finish and sentimentality), and the Peavey T-40 and the Line 6 Variax since they're no longer in production.
Those are the three I would have said to keep!
Any review updates on this system. I'm looking into one purely because I'm used to the bug transmitter which helps with quick guitar swaps. I'm currently using the Samson Airline 77 which is about 8 years old now and to be honest never sounded that great, too toppy and the compander side effects are excessive. The major question is, are these worth the money? At £370-£399 you can buy something £100 cheaper than this of similar quality. Is it worth an extra £100 for me to continue using a transmitter bug system?
I think it's worth it. It has a good range, clear signal, and on version 2 you can put it in 'cable sound' mode which slightly reduces the highs. It's also a very small convenient receiver, I have mine on my pedalboard! It's built out of extremely tough materials so will take a lot of abuse. And the fact that you charge it by plugging the transmiitter into the receiver instead of swapping batteries is nice.
Why is recording an instrument sometimes called tracking?
Simply because the recording is referred to as a "bass track"
Also, what about? "Plays like butter" =
I think that means that it melts on a hot stage.

Those Ogre pedals look awesome! Not very practical for pedalboards though
-
I went straight from a 4 to a 6. It's a little more to get used to, but once you do you can play all the 5 string stuff on it too so you might as well I only own a 5 string because there was one going cheap and I needed something with a low B... my 6 was tuned to A!

Precision basses sound incredible through all MB rigs, however the LM2 will sound great with pretty much any cab!
-
there's loads of options on this one, and none of them are wrong it's all down to personnel preference and the type of sound you want, I play in a punk band so like a tone with a bit of bite to it, I use a 1mm nylon Dunlops
I don't use picks, but on the rare occasion that I do, those 1mm nylons are my favourite by far!!
-
If they're a bit too stiff that might be because of the hexagonal cores. You can either go for a lighter gauge next time, or go for something with round cores (DR Sunbeams are nickel with round cores I think)... Unless you find you prefer them a bit tighter!
-
My favourite drive pedals are Darkglass B3K, Ashdown Lomenzo, Marshall Jackhammer, and Sansamp Bass Driver (not strictly a drive, but gives a great tone on low gain levels when paired with another dirt pedal) I prefer a clanky modern metal style distortion with a warm but not overpowering low end, though with a combination of the pedals I've listed you can get pretty much anything I've found!
