  1. My rule of thumb is not to replace anything, just buy more pedals
  2. I can't stop giggling at the aubergine being a one handed lift I love Barefaced cabs, I have to admit the main things that put me off getting one were the look, and that I prefer larger cabs... Mostly for aesthetic reasons... I realise the irony of somebody saying this when they play markbass
  3. Get a used behringer BDI21 and a lomenzo hyperdrive. If you're lucky you can get them with a combined cost of around £70. You will have a lot of versatility and an incredible sound!
  4. I love my B3K, goes right before my sansamp. I have the gain at about 4 o clock, blend at 10 o clock, attack switch on, and the grunt setting to 'thin'. That way you get a great filthy attack but really nice clear warm low end. I thought the darkglass would replace my lomenzo but the truth is that it's also an incredible pedal, and different enough to justify keeping it. When I need to be really offensive I use all three!
  5. With the way I play and set up my sound, a tweeter makes everything a tiny bit harsh and sloppy. Really works for my deliberately obnoxious approach though!
  6. Very cool. I love the pickups!
  7. Played a metal version of this at last nights gig, but we played it in E! Still wasn't that heavy
  8. I imagine it's for a print of that picture, a lot of amateur models do that these days.
  9. Woah that's a bargain! Unbelievable that is hasn't sold yet
  10. I use a sansamp and a b3k together after the aguilar tlc, but found it sounds better with the b3k before the sansamp. Just.... Beastly!
  11. It 'should' be ok if you listen carefully, but I'd never do it.
  12. I tried a 4003 once, through an amp I don't rate very highly. Still loved it, despite how awkward it was to play! Such a great authoritative sound, and the neck was lovely
  13. I once asked a woman to help me get my car out of a difficult parking space she succeeded where I failed!
  14. These are bloody awesome. I was gonna replace my one's space on the board with my new b3k but I don't want to get rid of it!
  15. We've booked venues over a year in advance so it's plausible!
  16. 300w solid state and a 4x10 will be plenty!
  17. Welcome Ed! Your videos are not only a valuable resource but a joy to watch
  18. These are great amps!
  19. No feel? Listen to the older stuff! The last couple of albums have certainly had a distinct lack of it though.
  20. [quote name='xilddx' timestamp='1385057487' post='2284001'] Didn't like them at all, they felt slightly rubbery and the coating flaked. I tried Cleartone EMPs and they are fabulous. Warm and zingy, last for ages, no flaking, even after more than 6 months of use. Way better than Elixir IMO. They are also only £23.50. They make Warwick EMPs, which are more money for some reason but the strings are exactly the same I am told. This ebay seller is where I get them, he is excellent. 21. Bloody love em. Snapped after just over a year when the sound was just starting to darken. I like the steels a lot!
  22. Levys straps are the only ones I'll ever use. Even brand new they're a bargain. Good luck with the sale!
  23. I got an amazing sound from a ric using my fingers with an ashdown hyperdrive pedal. If they were less expensive and not so awkward to play fingerstyle I'd have bought one despite all the mumbo jumbo
  24. I had one of these. with a neck shim it became one of the most comfortable basses I've ever played! I took it to a luthier who only charged me £30 for the job but its fairly simple to do yourself
  25. Great sounding basses! They usually look quite ugly to me but your new one is bloody gorgeous with that top wood and pick guard. Congratulations on a fine purchase
