1. Hello Ped.. Thank you for the warm well wishes! All said and done, we made 44 basses and 1 electric guitar. Every client we met was interesting in their own way and we were fortunate to garner the patronage from 2 bassists with relative notoriety. The amazing experiences we did not anticipate was in meeting secondhand owners and to realize how far our basses have traveled. I'm excited at the wonderments this next chapter may bring me and my lovely wife Michelle who put up with much trouble and messes I made. And I will always stay in-play here and on TalkBass. Peace.... Jeff
 2. Just announcing to every one here that after 18 years, my brother and I decided to call it quits on building basses. It's been a wonderfully satisfying experience. As former FT bassists, the labour of building basses for the working musician was truly satisfying. We started with Newport model which lead to ViBe, Areté Bäs, El Dorado and my personal swan song bass called Calabria. But we all have subsequent chapters in our lives to sojourn. In 2019, my brother decided to spend his spare time back in the gigs and studio. I've come to the realization decided that I can no longer do this by my lonesome. So I'm also getting back to part-time playing and recording (if I am as lucky as my brother Rah). So this, my BassChat brethren, is the final Newport and final Buscanti you will ever see from us direct. I will ship to the UK. But the customs could be a bit wacky. I think she's everything you would want in a bass to be. https://reverb.com/item/64660914-buscanti-newport-2022-tobacco-burst Peace out...
 3. For sale is this this striking Hailfire bass once owned by Jared Jones bassist for the band Vetted, a band comprised entirely of wounded warrier vets. This bass was played on their 2013 tour and there are a couple of photos of Jared. I have also included his personal demo of this exact bass. We aquired it as a partial trade in for a custom bass we made for him and are now making his bass available to the bass player community. We inspected this bass top to bottom. It's in excellent condition save for couple of very light and insignificant marring / player wear on the back of the body. They're barely noticable and I was not able to capture them in photos. It's been well maintained during his time playing during the summer of 2013. Fret work is immaculate and in excellent condition. It's strung with DR Neon white strings which were Jared's. We'll be including a fresh set of round wound strings with this sale. I ussually have a few different brands you can choose. The outside of the case has some surface scratches and scuffs which is to be expected for a touring band's gear. However it's very clean on the inside. The hardware is also clean, not rusty, and in working order. (See photos) There were two modifications to the bass. 1) The E-tuning peg was swapped out for a Gotoh drop-D tuner. 2) An additional straplock button was affixed to the back of the bass, making it 3 total. The original E tuner and an additional strap button will be added to the sale of this bass. Also included is a nice Joyo utimate drive pedal that Jared personally selected to complement this bass. This will be shipped from the US. It will be a larger shipment due to the size of the case. I will calculate shipping for any interested persons and will split the shipping cost with you. Here are the specs according to Diamond Guitars:

Construction: Neck-thru
Scale: 34”
Body: Mahogany body with flame maple top
Neck: Mahogany
Fretboard: Rosewood
Frets: 22
Inlays: Block inlays
Pickups: EMG TB
Controls: EMG BTC System
Tuners: Deluxe
Hardware: Nickel
Bridge: Babicz
Here is the link to my photobucket gallery: (Several Photos taken) http://s136.photobuc...y/DBZ%20Diamond Here is one photo for this ad: And finally, here's the video demo: https://www.youtube....h?v=lvOOggyRsxc

 9. I am still building these basses.
 10. Thanks gents...That's me. I am the guy that builds these basses. Ped has been a great client and a pleasure to work with! Yes I don't have a web presence because I don't have the bandwidth to manage one. (Mostly the inquiries) Working hard at just staying in the review sections and some social media. If you have any questions, just write me here and I'll respond within a reasonable time frame. Cheers, Jeff Herman Buscanti Basses
 11. Thanks guys! This is all good feedback....And to Kev's comments, I too had that flaky experience with DR Black Beauties. I do hope your situation was an isolated experience. Because, if the set I have coming flakes, I'll likely give up the idea on Elixir no matter how great they sound. Cheers, Jeff
 12. Hey all- I was going to try out the Elixir string as an alternate option to the Markley Blue Steel's we typically use in the basses we build. I'll have a chance to try them for myself as I have a set on order. We'll no doubt come have our own opinions in short order. But what I'm really interested in hearing are the opinions of others. So whether you use these strings regularly or have played them, please chime in. What are your thoughts in 10 words or less? Cheers, Jeff
 13. Passing of John Polk @ Terrapin Guitars It pains me to report the passing of John Polk owner and operator for Terrapin Guitars. John and I had a relationship that began in 2007 and from the moment that he finished the first order, I knew I had found a great business partner. In his own right John was an accomplished guitarist. But his love for the instrument carried over into building guitars and making quality pick guard components for other guitarists and builders alike. This was his way of staying involved in the musician and builder communities. I enjoyed my relationship with John. He was a gentleman and in many respects a long distance friend; one that I will never be able to meet over a pint of ale and a hand shake. (At least on this earth.) John’s work was his craft and he had a passion for the acrylic and celluloid slabs he cut and shaped into works of art. I knew this in his personality, in the way he treated his clients, and in the final product. Even after being diagnosed with stomach cancer in early 2012, John did what he needed to do to ensure the continuity of his business. He made a point of training his wife Mary on how to manage the business, and took on an employee that could learn the craft inside and out in the last year of his life. While John’s time on this earth ended this past May, the legacy of what he created and who he was remains: The business of Terrapin Guitars lives on with his wife Mary and his protégé Justin! I am grateful to have known this human being and I'll always remember his spirited love for the instrument, his love for the community he served, and the love he had for his wife Mary. I'm happy to see that his legacy will continue as Mary and Justin forge ahead with the Terrapin tradition. So I will now look forward to seeing more great work coming from these folks and will continue to look to Terrapin to make great pick guards for our basses. May God rest your soul John, as it should be for one of the good guys.
