1.
Yo man, not really looking to sell the bass in parts I'm afraid. Based in East Yorksire. Neck is in pretty good nick. Couple of small dents here and there but it's not got any problems with bowing or anything.
Ah don't worry, at that price if I was going to buy I'd just have the whole thing and keep the rest as parts! Yorkshire is quite far so if I'm coming up anywhere nearby for a gig any time soon I'll be in touch. No need to like reserve it or anything if you're looking for a speedy sale! Cheers
 2. Hmm... I have this same bass but the truss rod is knackered... What condition is the neck in? And where are you based?
 3. I'm gonna be trying some DR Neons when they get here, and I'm really fussy about strings, I like a clanky bright sound... We sha'll see!
 4.
Don't want to boast, but I got it down in an afternoon. To be fair, the solo took a few sessions to get down as I'd never attempted tapping before then. Truckstop Ad. Should point out I learnt it 8 years ago when I was playing at a high level everyday and practised nearly all day, everyday! If I tried it now it'd take a week.
That's incredibly good going man, I gave up on it haha! The tapping solo was actually the easy part for me and I never use that technique.
 5.
Anyone any clues on what this new Hartke gear may be?
I'm guessing lightweight gear, they've done pretty much everything else in modern amps.
 6.
Thanks to the mods for the edit, it was probably a touch inappropriate, I was livid this afternoon when I posted!
Sorry for editing the title into something my grandad would say, it just made me chuckle a bit
 7.
Apart from the tapping solo, Metropolis Pt. 1 is relatively 'easy'
Nah it isn't
 8.
Older markbass cabs were made using Italian poplar ply which is pretty much the lightest available - it was suggested on another thread that this is no longer the case
Oh dear... This does not bode well. Light weight is one of the main selling points of markbass.
 9. That's strange, they've always proudly advertised that they are made in Italy! I do know they have a budget line (Black Line) that's made in Indonesia or somewhere random like that, apparently to the same spec but with black speakers. Though I'm sure he'd have noticed something as obvious as that! I'd shoot them an email or contact them on the offical Facebook group. Their customer service, and the speed at which they get back to you has always really impressed me.
 10. Everything on Images and Words is on a 4 string bass
 11. My missus bought me a Darkglass b3k from the website at Christmas. Apparently it arrived with the knobs scratched to hell! When she called him to complain he was apparently very patronising and said something along the lines of "To be fair love, it's designed to be trodden on". She also asked if it was second hand and he replied with "Oh no, we only ever sell brand new gear!" Eventually he offered a replacement... Not of the pedal mind, he told her to pull off the knobs and send them back in the post! I suspect he only went this far in customer service because she emailed him from her work address, a fairly large law firm I don't know what the guy is like in person or what his sales skills and knowledge about equipment are... But considering that expensive items are sent with non protective packing, and how shoddy the after sales service is, I won't be shopping there.
 12.
Just for clarification, can we post links to real rickenbackers on eBay, or only fake ones?
As I understand it, neither I'm afraid as it can still be seen as advertising the item for sale.
 13. I could be wrong but it sounds like a mild envelope filter might help?
 14. It's always worth trying out more strings whether you decide you like it or not. You can get some real quality instruments at great prices these days! I went straight from a 4 to a 6, and got a 5 years later. it's a completely different feel for me, and gives a few more options... As well as making many aspects of playing easier because you don't have to move your fretting hand as much. it's not all that hard to get used to but it took me a while to stop hitting the wrong strings I still play a 4 string all the time when I play stuff that doesn't require the extra range
 15. I asked them ages ago if they could make big singles for my 6 string with 16.5mm spacing and they said no... But they'd be able to do DCs. You can always ask them directly
 16. The main benefit of basses that have both options is that you can change how tight the strings feel without having to use a different gauge of string, which WILL alter the tone
 17. Did you buy this from bassgeek? I borrowed this exact model bass when I first started playing and I've never heard a bass sound so good with no tweaking
 18.
that is a bad gate! andy
I want to sell it, but can't bear to put it on here because I wouldn't want any other basschatters to waste their money
 19.
I was in the shop earlier today - We have a set of Nanowebs in for £35. I think we got a special deal on it though. Bass strings don't sell that well in the shop I work in, so we only ordered one set
Good price that! I bought a set in a local shop 18 months ago (before the price increase) for £40
 20.
or some sort of noise clamp
As long as it's not the MXR Noise Clamp! It's such a bad gate that I replaced it with a Darkglass B3K
 21. I'm all about stacking 2-3 drive pedals to get the right character. Try mixing and matching the ones you did get on with
 22.
Does anybody have any clips of a sansamp with a lomenzo hyperdrive? That sounds tasty!
I have a couple of covers on here somewhere using those pedals, on quite low gain settings to give a fair idea they're capable of much worse!
 23. I'll PM you with my bank details for that 10% commission Wud
