1. Hi all, so I got my Jazz Bass today It is a dark blue Squier by Fender Jazz Bass It says on the neck by the body "crafted in Korea with serial no S/N 713165 Looked it up to find out some more details and it says production dates 1988-1996 Sounds great, looks great and can't wait to get going now.......first lesson booked for the 18th Thanks for all the advice and thoughts in the thread, I look forward to reading and learning now!! 2. Very tempted by the squire classic vibe jazz on here (very pretty) but have an option on a squire jazz bass for £130 from just down the road from me so going to have a look at it at the weekend. Fingers crossed its a cracker, dark blue with wood effect scratch plate (dated around 1985), immaculate condition so I am told. If its a winner, I will post up some pics, if not carry on the shopping process..........so many nice options out there and in here!!
3. Thanks for all the input guys.........swayed from the Thunderbird now! Looking at Yamaha, Epiphone & back to Ibanez in part. I have been in a few shops but not much in the way of second hand so will keep an eye on the for sale section here. Assume I will get better vfm in used
4. Also found a yamaha spider on fleabay which looks fairly cheap but cant find anything on the web about it?
5. Thanks all, I have been reading the above and referring back and forth. Price is a deciding factor (for now) as I was looking at picking up something while i learn fairly cheap (sub£200) and then i can (& surely will) get picky later A song i would liek to be able to play would be Jamaican Funk by Tom Browne, as for other syles of music...i dunno, i have such a wide range of music I like and just want to learn the basics (walk before i can run) I have looked at he links for the Bass Collections & the current one looks interesting so will pm. The links to dvd247 have got me intrigued (initial spend playing a big part here) so would appreciate some feedback on the following:

J&D JB Vintage 1975 Bass Guitar Black
Epiphone EB-0 SG Style Bass Guitar, Cherry
J&D 150A Electric Bass Guitar, Satin Brown
Thanks Danny
6. I don't have big hands so thinking a small neck, been advised towards passive electronics, just not too sure about weight, they all seem about the same. Thanks for your advice
7. Hi, recently joined and narrowing my choices after a couple of shop visits. I can't seem to be able to look past an epi thunderbird even tho I haven't seen one to hold yet!!! I like the yamaha rbx760 and 374 too, moved assay from Ibanez now as that was my start point but something I am not 100% sure on them. So, any pointers? Head towards a yamaha or hold out for a thunderbird?
8. Hello all, I am new to the bass forum and to music in general (playing not listening) Looking for new toys to learn the art of playing. Looking to pick the right kit for me and will be reading the forum in spare time to try and get a head start. Cheers Danny
