Boss NS2

I've been looking at the Boss NS2 recently as I sometimes get a lot of feedback when using certain sounds. The reviews look good, just wanted to ask what experience people have using them with bass and whether there are any tone issues etc. Cheers, Joey
2. They look like single-driver earphones from what I can see. I don't have IEM experience myself but I'm told that single driver systems often aren't that great at handling bass so that could be your issue. I'm sure someone can tell you more though.
3. High action and heavy strings. I play pretty hard.
4. Tim Armstrong. 90% of his solo stuff is terrible and there's so much of it he must just record and release whatever comes into his head.
5. Email fender and ask if it's legit. I'm sure they can tell you. Congrats if it is!
6.
Motley Crue - Motley Crue Vince Neil replaced by John Corabi. A bit heavier wth a much better singer. The problem was the dyed-in-the-wool Crue fans never accepted Corabi so Vince was brought back in.
Yes! I love this album. If it didn't say 'Mötley Crüe' on the front I think it would have been huge. My suggestions would be In Utero by Nirvana and ¡Adios Amigos! by the Ramones. In Utero gets massively overshadowed by Nevermind but it's just an incredible album. It sounds like nothing before or since and the songwriting is something else. People always talk about the first four Ramones albums being classics (which they are) but almost disregard the later stuff. ¡Adios Amigos! was their last album and, in my opinion, contains some of their best songs. They became almost an entirely different band towards the end of their lifespan, especially with CJ on bass, and this album has great pop songs and a great sound.
7. Apparently the outro of this song has four different bass parts. http://youtu.be/CvtJVku_mJw
8. That looks awesome! I remember you showing it to him. He was saying afterwards how cool it was! Good job!
9. I played a gig with Slade around ten years ago and, you're right, Dave is a genuinely nice guy. Don seemed nice too though he didn't have nearly as much to say as Dave.
10. Why not just get a 9v power supply for the last pedal and plug both power supplies into the same extension? Or attach an extension lead to the board of possible. Then you never have to mess about with wires. Or get a longer daisy chain but only use the ones you need.
11.
I've said it many times and I'll say it again, 'You're only as good as yer drummer!'
I agree 100%.
12. This just randomly popped up on Facebook. It's pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQoPnKQ_wqg&sns=em
13. Thanks for the input. It might not happen but, if it does, it seems like I'll be in good hands. Cheers.
14. There's a chance that my band might be given some Laney gear for a tour this summer. I just wondered whether anyone has any experience with their Nexus range?
15. I've got two MIMs and I like them both a lot more than the American Special I got rid of a few months ago. They play and sound better than the MIA did. Simple as that.
16. I have two Couch straps that I put on whichever two basses I might take to a gig.
17. I played a shell pink P Bass with white scratch plate and pups and rosewood board as my main bass for years. Loved it.
18.
my favourite version is https://youtu.be/uT3SBzmDxGk
Yes! I love those guys!
19. I've never been a fan of the gold version of this bass that you see so often but man, this looks nice! Have fun with it!
20. I've never seen that stud before but the serial number says it's from '06 so you're right about the anniversary. I don't really have much to add but I have an '05 and an '08 MIM P and they're really great basses. Both built really solidly, sound great (both fitted with QPs) and have never let me down. Hope you enjoy it!
21. My first P-Bass was a bitsa that my parents got a local luthier to build for me for Christmas when I was 15. Shell pink with a white scratchplate and a rosewood Jazz neck. Since then I've had (and still have) a 57-type bitsa, Squire VM, a Dee Dee Ramone and, my main bass, an '08 MIM which is just perfect. I've also had and got rid of a crappy MIM and an American Special. The wife also has a Tanglewood P copy and a rather nice red metal flake Fender Come to think of it, there are a lot of P-Basses in my house.
22. Thanks for all the input. These are things that I've never even considered before. The bass came with 45-100 strings fitted and I switched them for my usual gauge, 50-110. Could it be that the nut slots are slightly too small and the strings are getting pinched? I'll definitely try the pencil thing. Does it need doing whenever the strings are changed or just once? EDIT: Now that I think about it, the tuners didn't seem very smooth when I changed the strings so maybe the nut slots are too small. I'll get that looked at.
23.
I'm aware of it, but haven't tried one. True, but it's all relative. My last valve amp was 35kg, I'm sure it must be possible to find one lighter than that.
It's not a huge difference but the Fender Super Bassman is just under 30kg. They also make a 100w version at 22kg. And the new Ampeg V4B, also 100w, is 18.5kg.
24.
Have they had their chips, or do they mash the sound up?
Dammit.
25. I'll do just that. Thanks.
