  1. The later 90s Fenders were pretty decent as from recall they’d just had another change of ownership so upped their game a bit. I had a 97 Precision and it was an excellent instrument.
  2. For playing metal with guitar & drummer you’ll struggle with 100 watts. It might make rehearsals but in a gig situation very unlikely.
  3. Just bought a Precision (black/black/maple, what else) from Dunc. Nice and easy transaction all the way through, great comms and a great bass. Deal with confidence.
  4. Terrys work is always superb
  5. As above, more for your money second hand but if it has to be new then the Ashdown Studio fits the bill. For the genre mentioned I wouldn’t even think of a 100 watt amp, you’d soon find you needed to replace it.
  6. Shame, very talented guy, wrote some classics
  7. Just bought a cracking Fender P/J from Dave, in my fave black/black/maple. We met up and had a good bass related chat, and having got the bass home and played it for a while I’m so pleased with it. Deal with confidence, was a great transaction.
  8. You won’t be sorry, whilst the RMs are excellent amps the ABM600 just have that little bit more. It’s in the mix where it really shines, just feels “bigger” and with more depth to it, especially if on big stages.
  9. ROAR but up to 11?
  10. Very nice
  11. Sale agreed subject to the usual One US Professional Precision in very good condition, no dings - anything on the pics is reflection due to it being shiny and in such good nick. Comes with Fender hard case and case-candy. Only changes from original spec are a KiOgon loom and Fender Custom Shop 62 Pickups. Plays and sounds great. No trades thanks. Prefer collection from HP2 or meet up.
  12. Bargain whichever way
  13. Looks great, never played one but when I’ve heard them they sound really nice
  14. That’s a really nice looking bass, and I love the sentimental aspect to it.
  15. When I was in my band I rarely went to gigs as a punter as I was at them pretty much every weekend gigging, but now I’m not in my band anymore restrictions permitting I’ll go to a few when they’re back on and it will more than likely be on my own. I know so many people on the punk scene now it will only be on the journey there & back that I’ll be on my own anyway.
  16. I did many years ago, and given that I had that bass & string set up from 87 to 91 I suppose I must have liked it.
  17. The Interrupters are great, their acoustic version of Be My Baby by The Ronnettes is amazing.
  18. I’m not currently in a gigging band, have 2 Precisions and a Jazz. One of the Precisions I won’t take out of the house, not an old valuable bass, just sentimental value. So for my current non-gigging band I can use the other Precision or the Jazz, and in reality I’m a Precision player through and through so if I get in a gigging band I’ll get a Squier Precision as a backup. Just got to offload 3 surplus basses now.
  19. For the budget light is unlikely, so I’d look for a 1x15 Trace combo, plenty powerful enough and space saving too.
  20. Our first rehearsal post Lockdown the Third is on 29 April, really looking forward to it.
  21. I’ve been to loads of gigs where the over-bearing kick drum that was louder than everything else including the vocals simply made the whole gig worthwhile.... NOT!!!!
  22. From experience of using both brands I’d expect the TE to have better definition, plus being a 410 there being a lot more presence on the overall sound.
  23. Airbourne? Loved them when they emerged, a higher intensity type AC/DC.

    Jazz

I know I’m gonna regret selling that one, enjoy it Neil, it’s a lovely instrument
