  1. Agree, I saw them perform their original material in 2019 at Rebellion and was very impressed. And it gave the guitarist a break from all those down strokes which I’m sure she was grateful for, plus it also allowed her to show how good a guitarist she really is
  2. Possibly the angle on the A string to the tuning peg from the nut isn’t great enough. Try pressing down on the string between the nut and the tuning peg and plucking the open string. If it rattles, fret at the first fret and pluck it again, if it doesn’t rattle that suggests either loose in the nut or the angle. I always have 3 windings on the tuning peg to safeguard against the angle/rattle thing.
  3. I was going to suggest The Ramonas, great band and great girls as well, have done a good few gigs with them.
  4. I think certain amps work better with certain basses, and in certain genres, they just seem to pair better and Ashdown for rock seems to just work.
  5. For some reason I feel really let down by that.
  6. Well back in the Gen2 days the Midget & Compact paired very well together, so I think I’d be tempted to do SC & SM, given Alex’s comments about the SC having broadly the same sound, just with bigger lows/lack of tweeter.
  7. It may be wise to contact Alex directly and put this to him, he’s great at asking the right questions about your existing gear in order to recommend the right product. Often that may well be the less expensive option, which IMO is the sign of a good business and great customer service.
  8. The Markbass sound imo works really well with Precision type basses, and although it’s a clean sound it is a warm clean, not hi-fi at all, just a really nice warm presence in the mix. That said the Rumble imo is able to do more, due to having the drive facility. Additionally being a 2x10 I’d expect it to have a larger presence in the mix, though the CMD isn’t a slouch in that area. I think in the same position I’d go Rumble for the greater versatility.
  9. Is this one of those little known reactions to the vaccine that we’ve been reading about?
  10. I had this with DPD, asking questions and getting words back that did anything other than answer what I’d asked. After a bit of this I typed “are you f..king reading what I’ve asked” and from them on things seemed to get better. Maybe it was a human I was exchanging pleasantries with, or maybe once you get annoyed it signals something and humans take over. Whatever, I’ve seen worse avoidance of answering points on Question Time.
  11. Went at £390, not bad considering both how good they are and how difficult to get hold of nowadays
  12. Ah, The Adelphi, brings back some find memories that does.
  13. Calling @WHUFC BASS
  14. They’ve made it sound just like the recording, which live is never all that easy. I only listened on my phone but the bass had a good presence in all the songs.
  15. I found these
  16. Is that a hiding place for the bass or yourself 🤣
  17. Well I’m a confirmed round wound user but I like the idea of beefing up a Jazz without losing the top end in the way that happens with flats, so these seem ideal.
  18. I’ve never really looked into these before but your review changed that, from what I hear on YouTube they sound really nice, I might look into a set for one of my Jazzes.
  19. I know where you’re coming from, last year I ordered two Ashdown 210 cabs, for Sat delivery. Knock at the door, a chap there with a big box. Fair play, taking a punt I might not be in so hasn’t brought both to the door I thought. No, they’d only sent one. Not too much of a problem but irritating nonetheless.
  20. I’ve never said I was normal, but if I put in an offer and it’s accepted I settle up straightaway, after all I want the item ASAP and a lot of that depends on me paying for it.
  21. I prefer to learn it as the original, then make any changes as determined by the line up of the band. For example Fool For Your Lovin, on the solo as we only have one guitar rather than play the riff I just stick to root notes to keep it driving along.
  22. It needed a good bass tone to take the attention away from her voice!
  23. A 30min prog about Credence Clearwater Revival just starting.
  24. Great looking bass, keep the chrome!!
