  1. Past hour
  2. To be fair, our guy is pretty good. Not so sure about the rest of them
  3. Been using the XR18 for a few gigs now. What a difference it has made! Set up is so much easier and the other guys love the control they have over their monitor mix. Keyboard player has ditched his onstage mixer and runs his keys into the XR and gets a stereo mix using two of the aux outs. He adds in some lead vocal and uses his backline wedges as monitors. A game changing piece of kit.
  4. Today
  5. A nice ode to the Prunes & Custard.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Ooh I live in Aotearoa and the Prunes and Custard is a Coll if quirky pedal
  8. Ah good point 🤦
  9. Yes, I was quoted 18 months to 2 years back in January - which was why I just got the one I’d tried in Wunjos that had inspired me to try and order.
  10. If you want a great sounding, quiet amp for home practice look at the 50W Joyo Badass, three band eq, compressor and hybrid valve front end.
  11. I'll try just out of curiosity. String ageing is fascinating. Anyone who has rattled inside a piano will know ancient, dust encrusted strings csn still sound harmonically rich. The strings we use are not going beyond their elastic limits and metal fatigue ought not to be an issue. Is it really the chemicals or just dirt from our skin that is changing the tone? The effects of string coatings suggest it may be.
  12. Evri just typify a race to the bottom. By not implementing any corporate branding, uniform or vehicles, your entire perception of the company comes down to your local gig-economy delivery driver. Any complaint you might have becomes a drop in the ocean, because some halfwit will chime in with "our local driver is ded gud and always stops for a natter". I never ship anything with them and get nervous if anybody sends stuff with them.
  13. Never had an issue selling 5 strings, I always price them to sell but not too cheap. Hope I've not just jinxed myself as I'll most likely be putting my EHB 5er up for sale soon!
  14. X2 and you are looking at the Barefaced of the day but half as loud, except with your amp it would have been twice as loud.
  15. Bought a BF Compact from Muzz in another dodgy BC car park meet 🤣 Cab exactly as described. Always good to put a face to a name too. Deal with confidence. Thanks again Muzz. Cheers Dunc
  16. It a Japanese model not American
  17. There’s a Spector at a certain UK dealers that I’m hoping someone will buy so I can’t/don’t. I would say only harder to sell in so much as you have to exclude 4 string only players as potential customers.
  18. Ooh nice. what you getting?
  19. Bought a TC head from Mike. It arrived the next day, well packed and exactly as described. Great communication and a great experience all round. Thanks again 😁 Cheers Dunc
  20. Try it and see if it returns enough brightness for your playing style. I'm not convinced doing this removes significant grime as the video maker suggests; I think it could be something to do with the winding being relaxed from the string core.
  21. I am so unlikely to buy (and retain) a 4 string bass, I often get annoyed that the sales area doesn't have a filter to filter only 5 strings, then I remember it would have to be me that did that and I let me off
  22. Really excited by this. Can't wait to see what a production version might look like.
  23. As a newb to Spector this could be a silly question, but here goes... Why do a lot of 4 string models come with PJ pups and then you get to the 5 string of the same model and they have humbuckers?
  24. Ill bet if you plug them all in, your bass will sound like a fridge door opening.
  25. Gorgeous, sparkly, unmarked 2024 Stingray Special. Home use only, inc Hipshot D tuner & Schaller strap buttons. Strung with new Hybrid Slinkys. Mono case. Just not getting the use that it deserves. Price includes UK postage or collection welcome. Any questions, please ask 🙂
