Which has the better output though?

That's a bit nice, that. Guessing the scratchplate was a custom addition?

A bit of Southern Rock today, the complete Leon Wilkerson bass part for the tune 'Tuesday's Gone' from the band's 1973 debut album, '(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)'. Surprisingly challenging read as it is in 6:8 (at least that's what I am hearing). https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/tuesdays-gone-lynyrd-skynyrd/

Is that the head you brought to the NW Bass Bash last year? If so, we clearly we have a different opinion on the word "manageable"...

I would have put this in the short scale appreciation society, but it's 32" so I'd be run out of town. Just picked up my Mullarkey the other week - Couldn't be happier. It was a bit over a year from initial order to delivery. I've taken it to a rehearsal, and I've found all pickup combinations are very usable depending on the song. The clip I've attached is the bass straight into an Audient iD4 into Cubase, no EQ, no plugins, nothing. 32" Mid Scale Nitro Finish 12" Larger body than a regular Mullarkey. Roundwounds rather than the stock, everyone seems to have them flats on it. Untitled video~2.mp4

White pickguards. Gold pickguards -
Utilitarian is how I would describe Boss, but with an 80’s aesthetic.

I tried BEAD as a stepping stone to going 5-string. I bought a 5-string set for the trial and put them on the 5-string bass I eventually bought. David

It was a company called Vinyl Revolution in Oxford. This was in 2020. I had a Quick Look for them now and I have a horrible feeling they might have gone out of business as their website doesn’t work and nothing posted on FB since 2023. https://studio997.co.uk/art-and-objects/vinyl-wrap-a-guitar/ seem to have wrapped a guitar before. It might be worth dropping them an enquiry. I have never used them but they might be a good starting point for an idea of costs and process etc. -

I've found myself in a metal core band following a successful audition on Sunday. The band play in BEAD so I strung my bass in a cheap set of Rotosound 50 -110 stainless strings for the audition. Which worked OK on my Streamer SII but they never really sounded very bright. What's the options for strings or what are people using when down tuning? Cheers
