Sounds like the sort of ad David Brent would write after cashing in his pension to get his music on the road.
-
I think I'll start complaining about people complaining about people complaining about the ad. What a glorious use of free time and technology!

This afternoon I felt like listening to the '92 Seville blues night again. It was great when I heard the original broadcast; I'd not heard of some of these players before.

Where to start with this Join My Band ad…
JapanAxe replied to JapanAxe's topic in General Discussion
I think this is actually a vanity project rather than a scam. I’ve depped with a couple of outfits that I would describe in this way as vanity projects. (1) Successful entrepreneur who was convinced his much younger other half was the next big thing. Turned out she wasn’t. (2) A band playing the country music club circuit, fronted by a wealthy businessman. Most such clubs can only ‘afford’ solo or duo acts with backing tracks, but the BL books his band in at whatever the club can pay and makes up the difference from his own pocket so that the other musicians get a decent wedge. So I’m guessing this person is sufficiently well-off to pay a retainer to the performers so as to be sure of being able to put their material in front of an audience. The non-existent company still bothers me though! -
Just got my amp back from a bloke who's had it for about a year, old Line 6 Spider IV 75 combo (incidentally @jonno1981 sold me this when he was in the business); that said, I'm not really a huge fan of this amp, only really used it for home recording. The pickups are really quite decent, suprisingly so; I'm actually wondering whether it's worth dropping in a new pair of P94s to be honest, although I do prefer the visual aesthetic. It's completely silent from a grounding perspective. Nice!

TRS/Midi Cable question Meris/DMC/Expression
tauzero replied to p4ul's topic in Repairs and Technical
The jack end of the cable is easy enough, I've always hated soldering DIN plugs. Especially when you forget to put the body onto the cable before doing the soldering. -
Well, if you're happy then I'm delighted.

That must be a mistake surely? Like you I cannot see the socket for such a feature.

I recently bought an SLO Olympic IIIs from Paddy. It was delivered quickly and was exactly as described. Top man and highly recommended. Cheers!

Yup, last really well too, like flats -
I just messed around with my hx stomp... using expression to change the time of a delay on 100% with a time of 0.00s to something like 800ms kinda does it. issue is after 800ms it repeats the note

The search for a case is complete . Found this today . It's a case for top kit fishing poles. Semi rigid with internal velcro straps and external carrying handle . Fits like a glove and also holds the bow , which is in a snooker cue case , sitting on top of the box with the output jack . £55 list price , mine for £9.97 . Happy chap

Tone Hammer 210 combo.... Looks nice. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Ben Jamin replied to spyder's topic in Amps and Cabs
This looks and sounds great! Love the whole design! Really cool to have a few impulse response options built into the DI, modern digital antics but no faff. Also dual DI and aux/headphone outputs are a neat touch, plenty of monitoring options! I've been gigging a Tone Hammer 350 and a Barefaced Compact for YEARS, and I am very happy. But this just gave me GAS 😅- 1 reply

Cliff Burton SB aria 4oth anniversary release
LeftyJ replied to christhammer666's topic in Bass Guitars
Agreed! I also associate Cliff Burton more with the SB Black 'n Gold, and not with this more "plain" SB reissue. There have been earlier signature models and tributes, and they were all based on the Black 'n Gold. -

I wasn't talking about those posts, I was talking about the various posts (for example) in the NAMM thread about Sadowskys and how ridiculously overpriced the various custom shop and Metroline ones are by people who probably aren't interested in buying them in the first place. Like me.

The front end design of the Superfly (and Superduperfly) was great with the graphic MIDI-controlled EQ section, which could also work as a parametric EQ with a software editor. The power amp section not so good, with twin power amps that couldn't be bridged and some examples with twittery noise - not loud but annoying.

£279 here: https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/251215451631027--ashdown-pbm-200-200-watt-portable-bass-head Yeah the Speakon thing is a bit of an issue for me too. I have an RM 500 so have a Speakon cable (and another one as backup). If I were to get the Ant (or Elf or Gnome or BAM 200) as backup I'd need to have an additional cable as backup to work with it. Not a big deal, but it is another cost and another thing to carry. (and Speakon cables are just better)
