  1. Past hour
  2. And that is a tone control. Because volume is either on or off.
  3. I think this has happened to all of us I always press it in and out a few times before I play with it, just to make sure
  4. I’ve sold two basses here. Both for less than I would have been able to sell them for on fleabay or Reverb. I can’t claim that it was altruistic. I would far rather sell an instrument cheaper to someone who wants to play it and knows what they are looking for than deal with tyre kickers and general numpties on ebay in particular. Hopefully they were well received. If they were sold on well it makes no difference to me either way. As far as the need to help musicians out vs profit all I would say is as countless threads on BC have pointed out a very decent instrument can be bought used these days for £200 or less. Most expensive purchases are luxury rather than necessity. Edit: Just as I finished typing this I spot an Ibanez Roadster for £250 and a Squire Bronco for £135 on marketplace!!

    Mr

I bought a Roadster as a project about five years ago. It all works. It's been up for sale here for a while. Might be easier to part it out. Hit me up.
  6. I bought an EBS Octave pedal from James and it arrived promptly in perfect condition. Buy with confidence from this BC'er!
  7. I have a new project incoming, so would like to see this go to a decent home. Make me an offer!
  8. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  9. Which is why I've thoughtfully added a postage option so that potential buyers don't have to suffer the trauma and indignity of visiting the god forsaken place should they choose not to.
  10. And to really mix things up as well https://github.com/mikeoliphant/stompbox Never built either StompBox or PiPedal. StompBox gets some great writeups from people. Perhaps a winter project over Xmas? Rob
  11. Set of 4 hipshot licenced 1/2inch chrome clover head tuners. Set of 3+1 so suitable for Musicman stingray or Sterling 4 string. Excellent condition. These are not reversible so won’t fit a 4 in a line headstock
  12. Today
  13. So has this option now gone away?
  14. You don't need to be too scared of technology but perhaps a little wary of advice on the internet You've ben using two Mackie subs plus two tops, presumably for quite a while with no problems but some people you've never met have told you they are unreliable. It would seem they are wrong about at least four speakers! I've heard the rumours too which usually go along the lines of 'get the old ones as they are more reliable'. I also know of several local bands still using their 20 year old Mackies. Think of it as being like cars, My two most problematic cars were Toyotas, an AVensis and a Yaris, my most reliable were Fiat Multiplas. I don't think Fiat are generally better than Toyota but failure rates are low and Iactually 89% plays 95% means it isn't hard to be apparently lucky or unlucky. My advice its to take advantage of the internet and buy a used Mackie cheaply because of the internet pile on. To answer your question however. These are active subs with volume controls, mis-matching isn't an issue really. Subs really don't have flat responses so there may be a mis-match there but I doubt you'll hear it and the auudience not at all.
  15. Party Like A Russian - Robbie Williams
  16. Well it doesn’t play like a courgette. Last courgette I tried to string up was a right mess.
  17. I looked at this before and it seemed a well thought out project. Sensibly the dev used decent and separate USB Audio hardware and a Web interface. If you have decent usb audio hardware and a pi already, I think it could be a cheap and quick project. The software looks OK as well. I've got the parts just sitting here doing nowt (by chance and not by design) but not really wanted another project to work on. I didn't look into the build tool chain to see what was needed but assumed it would work. I already have a ToneX and a mod dwarf so another modeller seemed overkill for me, especially as it had a separate USB interface, which might be an advantage to some people. Most pi projects seem to use an audio hat and these don't have the quality IMHO. Go for it, I'd be interested in how it works and sounds. Rob
  18. I started liking them ironically then my partner bought tickets for my birthday. Massive guilty pleasure... ABC with full orchestra in Bournemouth tomorrow.
  19. Ooh, yeah, that would be a bit chunky….
  20. Rush(ian) Hour - Jane Weidlin
  21. I searched for 5-string basses, because that's what I play. 20 results, and of those 20, 2 were for strings, 1 was a case, 1 was a 6-string and 1 was a 4-string. Of the remaining ones there was a very nice example of a Spector Euro 5 LX, including case for £2k. Mark
  22. There are several ways to mute the amp. You want to be darn sure the module is really the problem or you will be throwing money away. Also, beware of these modules sourced from China, there are counterfeits of this series coming from there.
  23. I don't need one, but if I could get the 5 down here for the equivalent in Pacific pesos I'd be tempted.
  24. Is anyone experimenting with a PiPedal by any chance? Just wondering whether to spend a bit of time putting together something else I won't use.
