Private wedding in Llangollen town hall. Big boomy space, but we had a big pa. all fine from that pov…. but….my amp / cab died after just as we were about to start the first set. i was using my Peavey mini max 500 into my BF retro 2x10. the power light on the amp briefly went from blue to red, then i smelt something burning…: I was literally running both gain and master vol at a little over 1/4 with all EQ flat, so nothing loud at all. also using keeley compressor and boss oc 2, but that wasn’t being used at that point so I can’t see that I’ve overdriven the preamp or anything…. the amp still powers up etc but no sound. A bit confused really…. 2 gigs next week so may be looking to buy an amp or cab, depending on what I find later…. i just turned it all off and as i was in the pa via my sans amp, i just used a powered wedge for on stage monitoring to get though the gig…. ive brought it all home so im shortly going to try some fault finding…. I have a TE head and cab here also so can try peavey into TE cab and TE amp into BF cab to try and workout what’s broken. Hassle I don’t need.

the purists are moaning that it isn't the correct neck shape but I love mine and it does sound really good. I love the neck shape too I changed the pickups in 2 of the others and the volume pot (the original is 500k and it should be nearer 250k and they both sound much more May like My forth one is signed by Brian and hangs on the wall

Why am I struggling to make bass sound good through PA?
Dan Dare replied to mrtcat's topic in PA set up and use
Not just bass, sadly. Pushing upper mid frequencies on voices "to make them cut through the mix" and making them sound plastic and harsh, boosting highs on acoustic instruments and drum overheads to the extent that the sound could strip paint, etc, etc. The list is endless. -

So, in fairness to Andertons, they didn't promise to have it there for me, so I can't complain when it wasn't ! "probably in the warehouse behind a pile of deliveries, awaiting unpacking ", was the comment. Hoping to hear about shipping to my home, quite soon. Will report back .

It isn't as extreme, but point taken. Virtue signalling (the desire to demonstrate to the world that one has the "right" views and mindset) is everywhere.

Good call and provided you can stack them vertically without the risk of them falling on someone, you'll have a driver at or close to ear level, which will enable you to hear what you're doing more easily.

My preference is as @Leonard Smalls says, you get great options that way, but my back agrees much more with @Downunderwonder - and this is what I have gone for.

Still arguably Boss’ best bass multi FX. It has the dual signal chains that the ME90 lacks. The algorithms are ancient by today’s standard, but as a catch all fx machine it hard to beat. When powered on can be seen from space (it is littered with blue LED’s - remember when that was a thing!) Comes with its original power supply and a tatty but functional Gator soft case. Oh and I had it serviced about 6 months ago so it’s all working nicely. Happy to demo here in London N21 or postage is an option (included in the price). Happy to knock off a tenner for collection.

The fellow who runs the YouTube channel in question is named 'Shaun Martin'. He has seven various social media and YouTube channels with links in his main profile channel. It looks like he is some kind of digital creator/groupie who probably thinks Mick Mason is a celebrity. He's now certainly that!! He has seven channels including YouTube and other Social Media platforms, and looks like he will interview anyone who has any kind of involvement in show business. The seven links are next to his picture profile. He comes across as naive and star struck (just my opinion, of course). He's probably a very nice chap who just needs convincing the Mick Mason is a proper, full on, professional conman.
