  4. I noticed they'd renamed a big store in town. When I told the wife she said, "They did that 4 years ago!" That's how often I go to the shops.
  5. Beautiful punchy cabs these. GLWTS 👍🏻👍🏻
  6. I had one with a 36" scale - an absolute monster that came with its own flightcase (virtually unliftable). It might be worth trying a Hiscox Large Bass Case (you could check the dimensions at least)
  7. To keep the string in tune at both ends, it is wise to re-string the bass as shown here: https://scottsbasslessons.com/blog/how-to-string-a-bass-guitar The only thing I think in a different way is in step 6. I push the string to the bottom of the peg hole, and then bend it. Scott makes only a small bend to the string.
  8. £375 now includes deliver to UK mainland.
  9. I could write lots about this, but I did once wonder if I had too much gear when I was contemplating buying another bass amp. But I came to the realisation that as I don't tend to spend my money on anything else, I'm not in debt, and I enjoy it, then buy the amp 😁
  10. You could try this thread as well.
  11. funnily enough I reached out to Andertons for an update on monday " i got radio silence " I will be giving them a call next week ...

  14. I've tried a few Octave pedal's as its a must have being a fretless bassist and for me, I found the Boss OC5 was the best for tracking and response. I will however add that I use mine more as a way to thicken my tone rather than playing it in the style of Pino or Tony Levin. In fact, that's got me thinking, I should really try and do that style. I've heard good things about the MXR Vintage Octave but I've not tried one. I did try their Bass Octave Deluxe but I didn't like it.

  20. I couldn't find specific mention of this in the manual but did find this post from 'the other place'. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/gr-bass-gear-questions.1376653/post-22235540

  22. One thing that, now I think back, you need to think about is fret markers. I've personally never had mother of pearl or stone markers give problems - but plastic ones will, indeed, melt if the iron is placed directly over them. The trick usually is to run the iron close to, but not over, the markers.
  23. Oh look, its feb.. "HI Woody, Thanks again for ordering your new gear from Bax Music. We've got great news! Your order has left our warehouse and is on its way to the courier."
  24. There's a bit of 'it depends' involved here ref whether you are going to scorch the wood or not. A very thin cloth might be an idea (old-fashioned handkerchief thin) if you are concerned it might scorch - but not dampened, in my view. Dampened won't speed up or help warming the wood enough to soften the glue, it will dry pretty much immediately anyway and it could artificially expand the wood fibres which may affect the size or properties when it cools back down. As I say - it is the wood warming up sufficiently right through to the glue line that is the objective. If I had a fretboard that I was concerned about, I think I would simply use a lower temperature for longer. Patience really is the key here...
  25. This is the wrong forum for that sort of threat. Please keep that sort of filth for mumsnet
