Yeah you're right there, I'm a fan of every aspect of the pedal, just need to build some solid patches to suit my needs. And yeah in terms of tracking, I have definitely found a lot of patches have a certain sweet spot on the fretboard. I think my Future Impact will stay as the digital jack of all trades synth, quick access and adjustibility, and then the Squeezer can serve a very specific role playing to its strengths šš¼ rather than trying to get it to cover as much ground

Given the nature of the Bird... I'd prefer collection/Delivery but well packaged and very insured postage is possible. This one has been my gateway drug, and before i knew it i've bought myself an old single pickup model. It's in mint condition, and comes with a great padded gigbag. Pretty light at 3.8 kg, and personally I haven't had an issue with neck dive as these sometimes suffer from. As always please hit me up with questions/photo requests! .

shufu started following Intro - Pangborn Bass related
-
Hi, my name is Steve. In the early 80s I worked for a couple of years or so with Ashley Pangborn in his small workshop in West Norwood building Pangborn guitars. When we eventually parted company he gave me a fretless warlord which I still have to this day, although I rarely play it and will probably sell it. We first met by chance in a music repair shop (Touchstone Tonewoods in Reigate I believe - so long ago), where he was buying some potted active bass/treble units to put in his guitars. As I was a qualified electronics engineer interested in guitar electronics (I was there buying some fret wire) I tapped him on the shoulder and suggested I could make these also. That began our working relationship for a while. I taught him proper soldering and electrical shielding etc. and he taught me some of the rudiments of guitar making. I actually made some of the fretboards and help assemble and setup finished guitars (Chieftains mainly) and did most of the electronics assembly etc. Profitable business was difficult in those days. Ashley was so talented he really needed to work for someone else and be left to only concentrate on guitar making and not business/accounting/marketing etc. Not long after I left I believe he shut down and ended up working for a famous US brand in Germany making specialist custom instruments. I went back to my usual industry where I worked in Aviation and Airport IT systems until I retired last year.

It's a Sony, and definitely does not have 3 dB steps in vol. Do I have to turn on my B&K and measure the steps? No no... now you @Stub Mandrel have planted the seed... bugger. -

That Swift wireless system seems interesting. In Thomann however, it has not so good reviews. The thing about dropouts I guess it depends on your gigs. I currently use the Xvive U45 (5.8) and I never had an issue. The rest of my band use the U4 (2.4) running simultaneously 3 U4 and never had an issue either. I must say that with my Line 6 wireless (G10s and G30) I had some dropouts sometimes, but I still use them. I use also the Fender Telepath and I had issues when using it close to the U45. I have also received the Westone X30. They sound incredible. However, the cable is really really annoying. I mean, when you have it in place it is fine, but I do not like it. But the sound is really good. I am comparing it now with the Sennheiser ie400 and ie100 and it is difficult to choose one. I am still making more tests...

Gator Pro Go G-PG Bass x 2 gig bag for 2 electric basses for sale in excellent condition. Iām no longer gigging regularly on bass so this is surplus to requirements. Hasnāt actually been used that much so is in generally excellent condition. The only thing Iād note which might be a fault or might just be a manufacturing feature is that the foam in the handle appears to be split into two parts, which you can feel through the outer fabric of the handle. However I also have the single version of this bag which is exactly the same, so Iām guessing this is just how theyāre made. I donāt have a box big enough to ship this so itās collection only, although I could deliver locally in Cardiff. I also commute to Swansea Vale twice a week most weeks so could deliver anywhere within 10 minutes of one of the M4 junctions between J32 and J45.

I think one of the main reasons I enjoyed this pedal so much was for the fuzz and filter circuit, which no digital synth I have tried can touch. Removing tracking and the VCO from the equation entirely, you can get some marvelous sounds. I preferred to use an external octaver with it, but with the onboard waveforms like any synth it can track pretty well once you get used to how it wants you to play. But do pursue the building blocks etc on CGraham, it can fast track you to figuring the signal chain and understanding how everything interacts.

NBD - Fender Japan Traditional Collection 2025 Precision Pearl White
Bassassin replied to Delberthot's topic in Bass Guitars
Congratulations on the NBD (I love the subtle sparkle finish, and being MIJ it's a winner!), but you know me - I'm easily distracted... So, that cool black 'Made By The Bass Workshop' Precision... There's something oddly familiar about that. I'll take an entirely random guess that it's a through-neck build, and looks like it's had a somewhat comprehensive paintjob, including the fretboard - pretty sure I can see dot markers between some of the frets. So, what does the group think we'd find if we filled a bath with industrial-strength paint stripper, and lobbed it in? I've got a sneaking suspicion that when it was hauled out & hosed off, it might well look something like this: And they'd have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids! And leaving the headstock unpainted. -
Only just seen this thread. I've definitely noticed with bands being more in control of their careers, new artists tend to be pretty clean living compared to when I first started. Even down to diet, exercise and not smoking. I always felt the drug side of things was very romanticised and there will always be examples of acts both clean or high that make good and bad music. I remember even back in the 90s there was the start of a push for acts to be much more savvy on the business front and that's hard to do if everyone is wasted. I don't doubt that there are still huge pockets of the industry where drugs are rife but it's nice to see artists looking after themselves a little more.

Mark, aka @MarkBuffaloStokes recently bought a bass and an amp from me, in what has turned out to be yet another great Basschat transaction. I say 'great' because it involved trust, respect and patience - the kind of qualities / virtues that almost never come into play when buying /selling bass gear outside of this Forum. Long and short of it is that, after a month or so of tooing and froing, Mark now has a super-cool Ricky 4003 clone in his possession, and a glorious sounding Handbox amp. And in term of leaving feedback, all that needs to be said is that Mark's an absolute credit to the Basschat community and a great guy to deal with! And as for having access to Basschat, so that we do these deals within a trusted and safe space, all I can say is that we're a very lucky bunch of musos. š Thanks for your patience Mark, and I hope you enjoy the new bass toys that Santa brought you! šš Cheers, Nik

Can anyone advise how to remove the from grille on my TE 15" cabinet? I've removed the 4 screws but the reflex tubes still seem firmly attached. Reason for removing - I bagged a shiny Trace Elliot badge to go on -
