One thing I have noticed about time is some people use it wisely and some squander it. Some believe in delayed gratification and some want immediate fun. Some invest and improve their resources some don’t. Often the end results can be traced back to the use of time. I certainly squandered more of my time than many of my more successful friends and colleagues and don’t feel that I should have a slice of their cake.

It would take me a lot longer to drive around Silverstone than it takes Lewis Hamilton. I feel underpaid. I don't know if your point is beyond the scope of this thread, really. When you pay a royalty for the fruits of creative work, the main resource for which you are paying is time. My materials cost me a very small sum. I haven't even broken a pencil in years.

I knew what you meant, but I still had to go and look up 'The Dunning Kruger Effect', which (Wiki tells me) dates back to 1999. As far as I know the AWB was still going in 2023. So is this, strictly speaking. 'modernising? (I can't do Paddington Hard Stares)

I’ve used this one - AirTurn BT200 - for years… https://www.gear4music.com/Woodwind-Brass-Strings/Airturn-2-Footswitch-Controller/4TIM?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kjLQyRn_48VhlWsbHiz6Yp6vKc&gclid=Cj0KCQjww-HABhCGARIsALLO6Xz3aZcuZU21HsgPgx24XnfWMog9wZ6Q_ic4oNOhdKED6KVtP_dSUxEaAlVjEALw_wcB -
Saw GUN do an acoustic set at St Luke’s in Glasgow. It’s a beautiful venue and a great version of their songs, some of which they’d never done live before. I’m thinking we could do an acoustic set from our set list?

Yeah. Allparts started making the Omega…then bought the name/rights etc. These ones are via @Beedster though.

Beyond the scope of this topic, naturally, but my thoughts come from a different perspective, in that I hold that the 'value' of anything, anything at all, is dependent on the one resource we all have on this planet and is, to me, of equal value to all. That is Time; I would have it that all labour should be rewarded only as far as the time it takes. No man, or woman, is born any richer nor poorer than another, but all have a certain Capital : the Time they have to live. I hold that one hour of anyone's time is as valuable as any other, and that all labour, of any sort, should be 'monied' only in the time it takes. The hours spent in a diamond mine should give a value to any diamond found, the hours spent baking bread given the same hourly rate. An airline pilot, a store check-out girl, a surgeon... all at the same hourly rate. There are details, and nuances, to this philosophy (those with responsibility, those working part-time, those studying for years, and more...), and there are certainly some less welcome consequences, but, to me, it is, all things considered, far better than the current notion of profit and exploitation. It's not jealousy, nor envy, but a sense of injustice when I note that so many folk on the Planet have next to nothing, in perpetuity, and others have much more than they have earned, or even need. As I said previously, I'm well aware that it's not a popular notion, but my idea of 'worth' is based on this sort of thinking. One should be paid, fairly, for the hours spent on one's endeavours, and no more, the same as everyone else on Earth.

Are Badass still making bridges these days? (I have a vague memory that Leo Quan went out of business of something about 15 years ago?)

Sunday evening gig in a local, with a new guitarist and new drummer. Slimmed down setlist, of which we’d only run through half together on Wednesday afternoon. Vocalist/guitarist and I have gigged together for the last eight years, so fit well together. Drummer and I gigged together for 12 years in the late 80’/90’s, he dep’d with us for one gig in 2022, so I trust him and he’s brilliant. New lead guitarist has some brilliant vocals, especially with the couple of Cult songs he’s brought, gigs with another Band and does his one man show too, so he’s fitted in well. New line up gives us four ( well three and me ) lead vocals and an awful lot of gigging experience. Cant help but think this might be the start of a good thing.

Like I said, I gigged them over the weekend and they sounded good. Came in properly sealed bags as well so I'd say they're legit. -
Some new flatwounds have fairly long silks at the ball end, which go over the saddles on my fender bbot bridge, causing them to sound very dead. I saw Duck Dunn had the same issue, and put some small nuts at the ball end of his strings which sit against the heel of the bridge, extending them enough so the silks don't go onto the saddles. Does anyone know what size nuts will allow the strings with silks at the ends to fit through? Like this:
