  2. I love my C5 Deluxe. I got the candy blue one after watching Dood's review on it. fwiw I've always liked Cort basses and have ordered a number unseen (mainly GB75,90F and 95s) and always been happy with them. I set up to my own taste and I'm happy to do that. The neck on the C5 Deluxe is fairly modern in profile and flattens out on the back of the neck the further you go up. Re the candy blue (if thats the finish youre looking at) no picture or video ever has caught this finish properly. There is what appears to me to be a slight green element to it that's never picked up and the colour is way,way nicer in person.
  3. We all love HoRNet FX... Their HA2A plugin (LA2A emulation) is free for 24 hours. HoRNet HA2A vintage opto compressor - HoRNet Plugins
  4. Electro-Harmonix Clone Theory Vintage Chorus Pedal NYC Made 70’s/80’s This is the one made famous in the 80’s by musicians including Peter Hook, John McGeoch and again later by Kirk Cobain. You can get sweeping chorus, subtle vibrato, to mad flange and synth like sounds from this unit. It’s a hard wired mains unit and the casing has plenty of dings and touch ups to the paint. It works perfectly and sounds great. These are quite rare now. I’ve owned two and this is the one that is all original. It’s an old pedal and like most vintage EH gear a bit noisy but it’s not a particular issue for live gigs.

  5. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve tested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.

  6. With the arrival of a new head and cab I need to move this on to make space, so price dropped to £200. I can still ship it which will be about £40-50 fully insured.
  7. I know. Late 80s to late 90s TV and film largely passed me by as that was my serious drinking period. No time for frivolities like TV. 😁
  8. For sale my Ashdown ABM 400 head with ABM 4x10 cab and flightcase for the cab. They've seen a fair bit of touring, I think/hope i've priced it fairly considering that. They still sound fantastic! These were built from what I think is the first ABM range by Ashdown. Built in the UK and I think in the early 90's. I've had the head and cab since around 2009 and bought the flightcase for the cab around 2014. They've seen a fair bit of action over the years but haven't really let me down. The tolex on the head and cab are looking pretty tatty in places and some of the knobs on the head have come off over the years and had to be replaced. Some of that patches on the tolex are from stickers and tags to identify them as mine backstage etc. The flightcase has a couple of spots of rust but is other wise in great nick and the wheels and brakes work well. Internal dimensions for the flightcase are W615, D425, H675. Custom built by the Flightcase Warehouse UK. Selling as they had been sat in a rehearsal room for a while but my band are no longer renting that space and I don't have room at home. Collection or meet up only.
  9. Here it is after two thin coats of clear varnish - less pink but still very grey (I think my phone camera is adding red tones)
  10. If your looking at doing this on a budget , Can i recommend a Valetone Gp-5 , Im using this is a 70 quid IR loader / amp sim tool , https://www.andertons.co.uk/valeton-gp5-multi-effects-processor-amp-and-ir-loader/ have a watch of this it should jump to the bass settings section at about 15 mins in. I use mine ( hell i use the finger bass preset ) in place or an amp straight into a the PA system , my setup is this on the end of my pedalboard straight into the rehearsal space PA . I can adjust any of the settings straight from my phone i dont bother with any of the effects which are a bit " meh " but as a tiny amp in a box its fantastic.
  11. Cracking pics. Well done. Dave
  12. That's interesting. Could that be why folk buy new and then deface their instrument just for credibility on the scene?
  13. Oh, I was taking to you all yesterday (mainly Paul) and didn't realise you were connected to BC (I was the guy playing the pre EB blonde Stingray)...!
  14. Barefaced One Ten Cab 200 watt 8 ohms. Excellent condition with the usual tolex lift at the back. A nice loud little cab, very light and perfect for small gigs and rehearsals. Pickup preferred but I could post at buyer’s cost in the UK.

  15. Labella’s Chromes and Cobalts gone, Daddario NYXL and halfrounds left, found some Dunlop Flats also available
  16. Going to gigs by bus or train only really works if you live in a larger town or city, where public transport is frequent, extensive and runs until reasonably late at night.
  17. Boss ABY switcher, I used to run two basses on a gig and this made it easy to quickly switch between them. Can be used for that purpose or to run one Input and switch between two outputs (effects loops, amps etc). I have no use for this so siting in a box. Yours for £20 posted. Open to offers. Runs on AAA batteries.

  18. Certainloy not irrational. Get thee hence.
  19. Probably not the most exciting pedal for bass players. I wanted to add a bit of reverb to a band that plays a bit accustic and quiet at times so I thought adding the reverb as an option to the chorus already on the board. I am looking forward to exploring the possibilities of this pedal.
  20. Apparently it had been driven hard and had lots of wear & tear I'll get me coat......

  22. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/514170-sold-seafoam-green-50s-p-bass-£400/ This beauty is available as have my eye on something at present, it’s light, sounds immense but just doesn’t work in my band at present- probably should just change bands! Comes with soft case and will be securely packaged Thanks Dave
  23. The olive oil thing really does work for me. I’ve also found that the newer suction method of wax removal is more efficient than syringing, and not so risky for your eardrums apparently. Ironically you make more wax being in loud environments, it’s nature’s way of trying to protect your hearing, or what’s left of it. My earwax specialist does the suction thing and then has a tiny camera so you can look down your own ear to make sure she’s done a good job - strangely satisfying, and for a few days afterwards I can hear mice breathing….😁
  24. I’ve used digital pedals with a touch of latency, sure, but it’s certainly not a ‘norm’ in my experience. I find most modern digital kit has no discernible latency (note ‘most’). The OC5, in my set up at least, has absolutely no sign of it. I’d think it was an OC2. To be fair, even in poly mode, the latency is barely noticeable. Only really when the filter is rolled back to its ‘lowest’ processing stage. I had a similar latency blip with the Eventide Pitchfactor’s octave when a heavy filter is applied. I can’t think of any other digital pedals I own that have any sign of latency at all, though admittedly all the digital stuff I own is fairly modern (no more than a couple of years since design).
  25. Just thinking about this is stressing me out 🙃
  26. The amount of online info available now means buying sight unseen is a reasonable option, I feel. Research, research, research!
