  1. Past hour
  2. I have an issue with Stingrays, in that I like them but rarely gig them. I've moved several of them on, as I'm not really using them, only to go out and buy another! I've had (in total) three 4 strings, two 5 strings, as well as a US Sterling 4 string and sold them all, apart from the current red 91 with a rosewood board! It's got to the point that when I mentioned that I've been offered quite a decent amount for the red 91, my wife told me not to sell it because I would only end up buying another one!
  3. Looks like a blast from the past mic preamp.
  4. The hot chocolate one? The luthier that did that is based a short walk from me in Sutton, South London. I took a banjo to him once for some work, but if any of my basses need anything done I'll only them to the Gallery in Camden.
  5. Whereabouts are you in the country? Interested…. Thanks, KC
  6. Just finished putting this together for a little rock covers band i’ve joined. Rockboard Quad 4.1 with MOD1 and Rockboard Power Pit underneath. All wired with Pedal Patch cables.
  7. Sounds good.
  8. Bought new, kept it in pedalboard since forever. Actually I’m not even removing it until it sells don’t have the original box though (I moved between places since buying). It has 3M Dual Lock Velcro underneath, and naturally is in full working order. Wasn’t stomped much - I was usually engaging it through paired DMC Micro. And on rare occasions it was - it has the button cap! Highly recommended. I can post through Royal Mail Tracking24 for 5 quid or we can arrange local pickup in London

  9. It’s not a ‘beginner bass’, you are meant to know how 😉 Enjoy…
  10. I agree I’ll post some pictures tomorrow as the only one I took, other than the serial number, was in the showroom I was a bit surprised it didn’t come with an instruction manual on how to play it 😀
  11. When will they be repairing JJ's speaker cones? 🙃
  12. I will check the weight and get back to you but it's not too heavy
  13. Yes. Great cabs. Thanks.
  14. Selling my 900 watt shuttle 9.2 in very good condition and comes with a camera case ( you know the one) for protection All working as it should. Will post at buyers expense many thanks.
  15. Due to an impending house move I'm thinning the herd. Up for sale is my Musicman Stringray Special 5H. Recently professionally set up with DR Sunbeams, classic natural look, excellent condition (there's one small ding on the back side - see pictures), super lightweight and easy on the shoulder for gigging. Comes with a hardcase which is slightly marked but structurally completely sound. Looking for £1850 collected from Stone (Staffordshire) or alternatively I do have a box to ship if you are willing to arrange a courier/insurance.

  16. Incredible cabinets. Truly full range right down to the very low end. GLWTS.
  17. Quick update on this one Paulownia body is finally flat, sealed and mostly behaving after the usual prime → sand → spot fill → repeat cycle. Shellac down, primer back on, and it’ll get a couple more coats of high-build to properly finish it off. Paired with a MIM neck and then it’s onto Dakota Red nitro, which means it’ll look finished long before it actually is. As ever, slow progress — but very close to colour now. MGCS — Made to play. Built to last.
  18. have a mk2 Octabvre for sell instead of trade...if that's worth that much now .
  19. Lovely bass. What’s the weight?

  22. Sorry to hear about your possible redundancy. I had the same thing going on, and it ended up dragging on for years - I feel your pain! Anyhow, GLWTS, and a wave from just up the road in Barry.
  23. I keep staring at this 😍 - looks fantastic
  24. Many years ago our rock covers band used to play at the Rose and Crown in the village of Somersham in Cambridgeshire, Dave Greenfield lived in the big house opposite, right in the centre of the village, on two occasions he was in the pub watching us play, both times he stayed until we finished and had a chat with us while we were packing away, nice chap, passed away too early.
  25. Apols - I missed this extra query and presume you're talking about the positioning panel pins. Yes - on a fretless it will often be just the ones at the nut. But you must have something in place that will prevent the heel end sliding sideways too - to be honest, on ebony I would usually use panel pins there too and then fill the holes with ebony dust mixed with a touch of clear epoxy. However, to avoid risking that, something like the spool clamps I show in one of the pics above (in that instance at the nut end) - or a couple of side packers and a normal clamp. The board will float on the glue and you have to stop it skewing as you tighten the main clamps.
  26. A pairing of lightweight and planetary methinks.
