  2. This is exactly what he's talking about. And you're so right, that is an excellent name to put on the headstock! Still undecided on how to apply the headstock logo or what it will even be. I have an engraver, which would work, but may not be so appropriate. I definitely want to engrave the ionizing radiation symbol on the neck plate. Ahhh such good ideas! I'm going to the paint shop today to see what they have for me to play with. This is great advice - sadly I'm working with cans for now so a little limited. There's a good graffiti shop nearby that seems to have some pretty specialist stuff so I'll see what I can muster up! I'm very excited to see the pickguard once it's back from the anodising place.
  3. Tried one in Andertons recently and it was truly magnificent. Did you mean neodymium pickup?
  4. BRbrBR DENG
  5. I’ll take that as you don’t own one then?
  6. Thanks, I guess the solution from @ped is the easier, I’ll give it a go. If not I’ll try Imgur as suggested by @Dad3353.
  7. Can’t believe this is still here. Such a great bass to play. Want, but can’t commit. Please help take it off my radar.
  8. He’ll be telling us that all basses sound the same next. Great vid 👍
  9. Enjoyed that - the musical he's on is very gospel sounding but without the crap you have to put up with in a church!
  10. Today
  11. James is a really nice chap, and as mentioned he's great fun to jam with but expect to fly by the seat of your pants. I find his gigs great fun. He does have some crazy banter, but he doesn'ttake himself seriously... he named an album 'frantic' as a response to a reviewer. In the time I've known him ( about 4 years) his playing has developed a lot more subtlety and feel. It's not just crazy fast riffing. He has some great bassists, not just Norman, but his go-to drummer Mark Kemlo is incredible.
  12. The thing that ruined facebook for me was when they switched to more "intelligent" algorithms rather than just putting in sequence whatever your friends happened to be posting. Straight away this destroyed what originally made facebook a good idea, which for me was getting in touch with people I hadn't seen or heard from for ages. Now it's just bland rubbish (albeit quite bass focussed for me). Sadly most people I found interesting to be in touch with left facebook many years ago.
  13. Welcome! I don't think there are any shape differences between the tribute and the USA models.
  14. And they still have some of your settings on mate!!! 😍
  15. He’s a big FI user if I recall.
  16. Sent you a private message
  17. Kind of you, Chris! I met him through my friend Deke Leonard, who adored him (and vice versa). James had a band called Glas, but fell out with the singer. He asked for my career advice and ignored it - rightly! I never saw him as a frontman. He can’t sing, but neither could Wilko. He just carries it off with sheer strength of character. I think he may be on the spectrum, but boy has he made the most of his talents. How long he can keep up the relentless touring is another matter. Apologies for raving, but nice guys can make it. And in my book James Oliver is a worthy contender. He gives 110 per cent and I would be delighted to be his bass player.
  18. I'm not sure if anyone will be interested given some of the exotica other people are bringing but I'm happy to bring along all or most of my gear on the basis of being very ordinary but someone might want to try out now that guitar shops aren't a thing. choose from Warwick Gnome, TC Elf, Peavey Minimax, Bugera Veyron. Fender Highway One Jazz, Fender American Deluxe Precision, Squier Anniversary P, Burny Thunderbird.
  19. Just got tickets for Babyshambles in Nov so I am buzzing!
  20. Sorry, didn’t think I needed to specify. They can be professional teachers or whatever you want to call YouTubers, but in these video titles they’re labelled as professional musicians or bass players.
  21. Not true. If you watch this video in its entirety you'll definitely see some brbr dengs in there.
  22. Thought I might take a look at the Headrush Flex Prime - you don't hear a lot about Headrush gear from bass players, so I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with them? Was thinking of taking one for an "audition". They seem to have a decent range of bass-specific amps, FX, etc (Ampeg, GK, Hartke, Peavey and Trace Elliot amps and cabs, various bass-specific effects like the Darkglass B3K, etc) and lots of other nice features, including the ReValver built in, so you can do amp modelling directly on the pedal.
  23. Pretty! I do love that ACG angled headstock design.
