  1. Past hour
  2. That´s one of my favourite records ever! Very tasty bassplaying.
  3. I had thought of splitting and a P2. But I do not know if the P2 has enough gain to deal with mic level. Does anyone know?
  4. Back & Forth - Foo Fighters
  5. There's no need for a talkback mic for the soundguy, I'll just lean over on stage and talk to him. That sounds nice, thanks Matt I'll float that with him. As for the Studiospare I know what you mean, I'm not selling mine either.
  6. Wye - Eurythmics
  7. Yeah, to me that’s way too expensive for what it is.
  8. Really intriguing project you've got here. Echoing the question on weight of the jazz necks (and how much an ebony/rosewood board would impact that). Also interested in how you perceive the timbre comparing different fretboard materials. I like the way all-maple necks can appear to sound/feel a little compressed.
  9. Yup, looks like a cynical cash grab to me, unfortunately.
  10. IIRC double the price. i think the west sham one was £800 something

    Valeton GP-5

I found them on prime delivery but at £42... would rather wait a few more days and get it for half the price!
  12. Up for sale is my 45 year old 1980 Fender Precision Elite in excellent condition with the exception of one lacquer ding on the bottom edge. Set up beautifully it weighs in at a meaty 4.3kgs, has a wider profile 44mm neck but somehow plays brilliantly Features are single split coil pickup, active boost electronics, schaller fine tune bridge, and gold hardware which is in remarkably good nick for a 45 year old. Comes in an equally vintage and robust hard case. I'll be sad to see it go but our impending house move forces a bit of a clear out. Can meet up within an hour of The Wirral or deliver anywhere (surely no courier could penetrate this case and even if they did, the bass would fight back.....)

  13. Everyone? I haven't met him but have no opinion of his character. I avoid any 'influencer' because I'm not interested in their content. Bite me.
  14. I couldn’t find one on Amazon for a decent price. All the normal priced ones said i was outside of the delivery zone (central london). I’m not sure why they are on Amazon UK if that’s the case.
  15. Or get someone to print a port with a flange, a gasket and three mounting holes so that it covers the hole neatly. Just a thought. Rob
  16. I replaced two BF One10s with a single LFSys Monza, for similar reasons. It's been a while since the change and I'm still absolutely delighted every time I plug in, regardless of what volume I'm at! The build quality on the LFSys cabs is far superior in my opinion too, so you'll be getting something built to last. If you regularly go LOUD with your Two10, I would look at the Monaco, as the 12" speaker will give you more, but for me, so far, the 1x10 Monza is way louder than what I was getting with my two One10s. As noted above, you're not comparing apples with apples if you're considering a Super Compact vs an LFSys cab. The crossover and additional mid/high driver of the LFSys, will really bring out more of the nuances from fretless playing. As far as the difference between the LFSys and a BF BigBaby, more like apples and apples, the BigBaby seems to be truly FRFR, and the LFSys is too, yet somehow, it's subtly more suited to bass guitar, it's still a bass cab, not a PA speaker. So in summary, I'd go for an LFSys cab Cheers, Ewan
  17. Exactly. It had to happen that someone would play the "Jaco" card and sure enough... Who cares? Jaco may have been a great player, but he was also known to be, erm, difficult. You wouldn't want him in your band. He'd turn everything into the Jaco show, arrive for gigs off his face and generally be a PITA. It got him killed in the end (you have to be pretty deluded about yourself to think picking a fight with a doorman is a good idea). People like that are best admired from afar. I'm one of those who finds Danny K amusing. I wouldn't pay money for anything he's played and I wouldn't claim he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I like some of what he does. He seems a decent sort. Who cares that he doesn't have "ground-breaking talent"? Few do.
  18. .....or pity, in my case!! 🙂
  19. Classic BC answer is to just quit. An actual helpful answer would be to have an honest and open discussion about it all. Bands should not be talking behind others backs.
  20. Up for sale is my 2019 Rickenbacker 4003s in limited edition pillar box red. Unusually for a Ric these came with a maple fretboard. Bass is near mint condition, set up nicely it plays great and sounds as only a Ric can. Apparently there were only 25 of these made for the UK market so it is a bit of a rarity. It comes with the Ric certificate and all the tags too. There are a few very tiny lacquer chips on the bottom edge. I couldn't really see them let alone photograph them but they are there somewhere. They are only the top coat of lacquer so not through the paint at all. The case has typical Ric case single foot damage but other than that the bass is mint condition. Weighs in at 4.2kg on the kitchen scales and now can be seen in a better light with new pics - more than can be said for my grass. Sale only as I need to downsize due to our impending house move. I can meet an up to an hour from The Wirral or ship anywhere.
  21. It’s a puzzler, this. And it seems to be more expensive than the West Ham version.
  22. I guess which ever one you buy, knowing a little about your bass tastes, you'll probably upgrade the Pups. (£60-£80). So I would be inclined to add a used G&L Fallout Tribute and a used Squier SS Jaguar to your list. If you recover fully and return to 34ins scale basses , chances are you would loose less when you move on your Short scale bass. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
  23. if you want a really cheap option the i've got a couple of the Behringer ADi 21 pedals in my pedal stash and i'd be willing to part with one cheap, I've swapped over to the Studiospares EQ/di units and the Behringer's aren't being used anymore. (the studiospares unit would also be a good shout if you can find one but since they were discontinued the supply seems to have dried up as everyone is holding on to them.) Matt
  24. I imagine it is and always has been a largely commercial decision. I guess it's a manufacturers job to estimate the cost:benefit ratio of every new model, either in terms of sale of that model or in wider brand awareness/status (I'm sure some if not many signature models are exercises in PR as opposed to product line extension), and if that estimate suggests that putting Flea or whoever's name on the model is going to tilt it in favour of benefit, then they'd be foolish not to? BUT I really wouldn't want to be the person who rubber stamps any of them
  25. Get some rounds on your P bass. Broader frequencies are then available - a little goes a long way - and you can dial it back if it's too much. Also, support the soloist by playing a little bit more - some double stops to help outline the chords - the odd harmonics to do the same and add interest or flavour. Most of my playing recently has been with a guitarist pal of mine and yes when he takes a solo, it's just me left being the band. To be honest, it fits well with my own style - I've never been one to hide away at the bottom end but I have to say that audiences tend to like it and I constantly get comments about how refreshing it is to hear someone playing "up front" and how rare that is these days. So consider giving it a go - to my mind this is more about mindset than effects pedals.
