  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, great fun! Thanks to the organisers for all the work!
  3. Ah I can’t say I live in Crowthorne, I’m just down the road in Sandhurst past wellington college. It’s a nice part of the world, I hear Hungerford's not so bad!
  4. shame about the neck because it's absolutely gorgeous, sure someone could sort it out though and might be worth it for that finish
  5. I bought an Eden 2x10 cheap because it's old and weighs 22kg. I reasoned that while I'm 53, I do strength training and it shouldn't really be a problem to carry it. I can do a one trip load with my head and effects in a bag, gig bag over my shoulder and hefting the speaker as well as I can, but it's not fun and I'm looking to upgrade in the near future. I'm not gigging either, one trip from a distant parking option and I reckon I'd be cooked!
  6. I currently use Alpine earplugs to keep the volume down at rehearsals and gigs but was wondering what better ones there are on the market. For me, they take out lots of frequencies so I hear myself too loudly. That may be the only way it can be but I thought I'd ask. I'd like to hear everything but quieter if at all possible!!
  7. As a noob, can I say THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS! That was just lovely. I managed to miss the guitar shows this year, and that really did feel like a little show! everyone I spoke to, everyone I didn’t - please connect. I love this organisation! Also: Costco chocolate cake rules. @jonno1981 - lucky you! I used to live in crowthorne, these days I’m out near Hungerford!
  8. Will drop you a PM this evening Walshy, thanks 👍
  9. Home now, it’s great to only live ten minutes from the venue! Thanks Paul & co for organising, I think the venue worked really well with the two rooms. Lots of great gear on display and friendly folks who allowed me to badly try it. I LOVED Mike’s satin finish sunburst Fender MIJ Jazz bass. The talks worked really well, lots of interesting stuff from the chap from Monty’s, the 60s Jazz pickup set sounded killer. The cab demo was an eye opener, you really don’t need a big cab to get a good tone. Chris Child’s interview had great stories and experiences to share. Thanks to Mike Brooks for facilitating. Overall that was a lot of fun!
  10. It was a fun day out; I've not been to one before so haven't yet had a chance to put faces to names. Nice to discuss EUBs, DBs etc. with the chaps there who were into that sort of thing, and to have a look at the variety of interesting bass guitars on show. I meant to take some books to get rid of but forgot, took some pedals to get rid of but forgot to get them out the car, and came away with an additional book (donation made to CRC).

  12. This one is rather good from Audio Imperia, called 'Glade'. It's a combination of orchestral and world/ethnic sounds & percussion. You are given a serial number, so it works in the free Kontakt player. It comes in two versions: 1) Four gig download with two mic positions. 2) Twelve gig download with four mic positions. Link and details: Glade | Audio Imperia
  13. Ok man, send me your details and I will get it away tomorrow buddy
  14. Ooh thanks for the headsup, I will have a look!
  15. Hello All Purchased this beast from a shop that was closing down for the princley sum of £15. Nearly put my back out loading it into a pickup. I bought the top speaker, an Eminence DELTALITE II 2515 NEO 8ohm 15" 300watt as the original was ripped. I have a Dual Showman Reverb and a Fender J Bass I'd like to use with it. Mostly neck pickup with tone off. My question, as a complete newbie to cabinet design, is can I get this to a useable state? And what should I be priortising? Its looks like somebody has closed a couple of the front open 'ports'. Should I be closing the rest off? Closed back? Acoustic matting? Create new ports? Seperate the two speakers with baffles? BTW low G to Open E farts like a good un.

  18. I have a long history of buying multi FX things and not using them because the editing options just make my head spin. So then I sell them. When I got the Tonex some time ago I messed with the editor and it was not intuitive for me and it went into a drawer. I messed with it again last night. There has been an editor update in the meantime and it is doing exactly what I hoped it would in a way that was really easy. Thank you Tonex bods.

  21. 1999 Musicman Stingray 3 EQ H in Translucent Teal. Amazing sounding SR4, just doesn’t get played much because of my Sabre. A few war wound nicks/chips from giging, nothing major. Comes with original MM hardcase. £1300 including UK Shipping. Bass in Glasgow if anyone wants to try it out first. Cheers
  22. Ah yes, my bad, we have only played the unicorn!
  23. I like Yamaha a lot tho Ive never owned a bass. Unlike the majority of 'Luthiers' they're a legacy engineering company first and forememost and I guess approach every project from that angle, and as I think we all agree it shows in the quality of their stuff.
  24. Which ones are you clicking on, Mattz? I will have a look and see whether the problem is at this end. If you are clocking on the links on this thread, a lot of the old ones don't work as there have been several site upgrades since they were posted and they no longer work. You can find everything on the website. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/
