The sh** show that is Royal mail / ParcelForce
Dad3353 replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
Living in rural France for the past half century, never an issue with La Poste (nor, to be fair, any other delivery service, from any country in the world...), either sending or receiving. Just lucky, I suppose. -

The problems I'm currently having are with La Poste in Paris. The litany of cretinous actions is really hard to believe. So, I guess this could be a large city problem, as you say. -

In some places it's almost impossible to find an audience for an originals band... Frinstance, round here there's no proper venues and folks don't seem want to come out - I remember seeing an awesome prog band rather weirdly playing in my local boozer (I'm not really a prog fan, but these guys were just serious quality musicians). There were 4 of us in there and maybe 50 outside completely ignoring the band - it wasn't loud so that wasn't it. One of the outside folks actually came up to me and asked what they were like rather than staying and listening for himself. As a result, any originals bands will never get a local audience because locals won't see anything they don't know already so it's a proper Catch 22. However, when "Lady DJ" comes to the same pub to play all the hits it's absolutely rammed with drunken folks singing along to all those songs I can't stand.

That's the only Warwick I'd be tempted by in addition to my Thumb.

As you're already rocking the XS-100, can you confirm if it can do two detuning AND still have the dry signal (so, sweep from unity to +2 Octaves and -4th, and still hear the unity dry), or does the dry (no sweep) need to be one of the two 'voices'? -
thebrig started following Precision Bass with Jazz Neck (Possibly a Squier Sonic Bass)
-
I listed this earlier as a Precision Bass with "unknown origin", but I've since been informed by a fellow BC'er that it might be a Squier Sonic Bass with a Fender decal applied to the headstock, so I've withdrawn it and have now re-listed it with a new description. I purchased it some time ago from a seller on Facebook who told me he wasn't sure of it's origin, but the fact that it had a J neck appealed to me because I prefer the narrower J neck profile. If it is a Squier Sonic Bass, then I think that £125 is a fair price because it's in excellent condition, plays well, and has powerful pickups that gives you that typical P bass tone. You are welcome to come and try it out at my home in Bridgnorth Collection preferred but might ship if buyer arranges the courier, or I might meet up within a reasonable distance from Bridgnorth. https://uk.fender.com/products/squier-sonic-precision-bass?variant=49502342250783

This is a very good quality plate, made by Fatboy Guitars Ltd. in Newport England, probably about 20 years ago. I have had it in a drawer for years and never even removed the plastic film so it is in new unmarked condition. The colour is a very pale mint green to my eyes which is not captured in the photos. Price includes UK postage.

I’ve just got the older Ampeg SCR-DI and on Monday the Laney Digbeth Pre Amp arrives I will keep one or the other ! The Ampeg does that low / Low mid sound and into my flat set LM iv it sounds good. Not so keen on the scrambler tone for what I want but the pedal tone fills out the low end nicely something the LM iv cannot achieve using its onboard EQ

Genuine Musicman Stingray 5 tuners - 4 left and 1 right for the standard 4+1 setup but I do believe these can be reversed (will need to check that). It pains me to sell these, but I want to change from chrome to black on my SR5 and given that Ernie Ball are charging me nearly £200 for a black bridge, I have to recoup some costs! It perfect working order and good condition - the nickel has tarnished a little but I'm sure they will polish up (probably could do with a strip down, clean and re-grease anyway as they are nearly 30 years old). Will include postage in the price - if they don't sell I will keep them and bin my idea of going to black. Comes with the screws and bushes as per the picture. These are available online - B*** D***** have them for £40 each so that's about half price of new. Perfect for a MM style build!

What does streaming well entail? I'm curious now. Would say, getting under 100 monthly listeners suggest you should pack it in? I agree some bands are trying to run before they can walk, others, I would say the needle won't move for them and I don't believe that's because they're useless or have crap material, as they don't. I would say that's because not as many people go to live shows unless it's someone or something they know. A few do better out of London, others not. If one can't find fans in London which has twice the population of Scotland, I think honestly anyone will have a hard time of it.
