  1. Past hour
  2. The main guitar stores will prefer a Gibson or fender that they can shift quickly. Bass specialists are the best bet if you don’t want the hassle of selling privately.
  3. Price dropped to £60!
  4. Rotorhead Actually not convinced this would have destroyed their career, probably just pushing them in a decidedly more aeronautical direction. Reckon they'd have made it work.
  5. It's that time of year. People have loaded the credit cards to the max for Xmas and won't be making large purchases until they've made a bit of a dent in the debt. It's always that way at this time. A good time to buy if you have money burning a hole in your pocket as sellers know it will be March-April before things pick up, so you can make cheeky offers.
  6. Here you go
  7. So, how to fit a guitar humbucker sized pickup in a MM shaped hole? With an empty MM sized pickup cover and a hand drill? That's just a test fit. Progress is slow because holiday vibe and not quite having the right screws on hand. This scenario needs M3 30mm screws, typically I could only find M2.5 30mm OR M3 25mm in the house. I'll have a dig about in the shed at some point over the weekend. Just to prove the concept in the pictures above, I'm using the M2.5 30mm screws - because they're just too thin, they jump threads if you tighten them too much (duh!) but it was tight enough to at least show where things are heading. Of course, the protrusions which are the mounting lugs may require some material to be removed from the pickup route, am steeling myself for that eventuality.
  8. I came very close to buying a Soundwear bag after reading this thread. Incredibly close! Within a click. But £800+ for a bass bag took some coming to terms with. So I hesitated. Anyway - decided to push the button today, but see Thomann now put the price up again. £885! Yikes! Nearly £900 for a bass bag. So I’ve hesitated again … 🙄
  9. No. Just patient 😁
  10. That's a lovely bass. If it's as good as my Fender AVRI 74 Jazz Bass that I have had for nearly ten years now then it's an excellent investment. I've thought about one of these for myself but haven't managed to find one that weighs under 9 pounds, which is my weight requirement for a Jazz Bass nowadays. I would swap the scratchplate for an off-white one, but that's just my preference. I expect most people would prefer the Tort, but combined with that shade of green in reminds me too much of those boiled sweets, chocolate limes.
  11. Yes, this is probably the best way to do it, and consistent with precedent. I bought a bass guitar in bits, with a damaged neck in 2022; paid to have a new neck made in 2023; and paid to have the bass rebuilt in January 2024. The latter two actions were repairs (and allowed), so I was only out once, for the initial purchase in 2022 (rather than out on the day when the bass was completed and playable).
  12. Immaculate ACG Recurve bass, no marks or scratches. I'm solely playing the guitar and it seems a shame to leave it sit unused. Comes with a cheap padded case. Looking for a trade only for a nice Strat - Avri etc, US PRS or a vintage Tokai plus cash. Maybe other guitars. Trades only please. I'm based in Hull East Yorks but work in Scarborough. Could travel for the right deal or you come to me. Thanks.
  13. ->Added part-ex for an Arturia Keystep 37<- Up for sale is this beautiful 12 bit sampler from around 1988. It's a Roland S550 with 8 separate outs and a top end GOTEK drive (with LCD screen) ready stocked with most of the available sample libraries and several hundred blank floppies. The sound in the video is the classic 'Air' choir. The library runs the full gamut of Roland's offering plus lots of other stuff including drum machines/ synths. acoustic instruments etc It's very powerful with the multiple outs. Monitor included. It's B/W and is essential for running the S550 to its full extent. It's in great nick and includes the original box and a manual etc It's a fantastic piece of gear and sounds very good indeed, but I need to streamline due to lack of space. Apologies for the rubbish pic of the back, it's a bit close to the wall for a wide shot but it looks nice and clean and, most importantly, all the outputs work! Pick up only nr Tun Wells/Ashford IMG_4455.mov

  14. Back to BB2000 trade folks...poss a US Stingray
  15. Up for sale is this very nice Yamaha QY700. This one has a bright upgraded screen, all buttons working and flawless operation. It's also upgraded with a GOTEK drive to store as many sequences as you can throw at it. It's pretty much future-proofed for a good while. A rock solid workhorse, this is a great centrepiece for a DAWLess set up. Only selling as I have another sequencer that's smaller This is a great piece of classic tech. Famously used by Squarepusher. It's a lovely sequencer with a tweakable GM library (but I only use it to drive external gear)- very powerful and solid as a rock timing-wise. Perfect for those who want to get away from screens.

  16. You snooze, you lose?
  17. But I've been thinking about ordering it since last year...
  18. My favourite GK of all. They’re magic. My regular gigging amp and this is an absolute bargain with the switch and (extremely tough but light) Gator rack bag. This needs a good home and taking out for regular gigs. @Berserker is a top bloke to deal with too. You can’t go wrong. GLWTS.
  19. I've managed to sell 3 basses in the last month on Gumtree and Facebook... As someone wrote above "things are slow"...it's across the board...high and low end...it seems that we bought all the basses and are thinning our collections at the same time.
  20. Squier Vintage Modified active Jaguar 5 string bass The previous owner did the following: Fender USA Hi-Mass bridge (will come with the original bent piece of metal) Fender USA Noiseless Jazz pickup I understand the Precision pickup is a Fender USA one but don't know which one. Fender USA neck plate. I removed the Fender USA decal from the headstock and just stuck a skull/wings decal with my year of birth. I also stuck some red tortoiseshell vinyl over the black scratch plate.
  21. No, not this year. You will be out this year, but be OK for next year. It goes by date of order, not date of delivery. I appreciate that you probably won't physically acquire anything this year out of the transaction, but it has to be that way round to allow people to complete the previous year's orders and still be in.
  22. I'm thinking of a new EUB build. It will be a custom job and will probably take longer than a year. If I order it and don't receive it until next year, am I still in?
  23. Today
  24. Amazing sounding amp, but I'm going all in on my Darkglass Anagram, so it's silly having 4 amps laying around. Comes in a nice Gator rack bag, and with original footswitch. In very good condition and all working as it should. I'd rather not post due to the tubes, but would pack as securely as possible if you wanted to arrange a courier. Also happy to meet up within reasonable distance of High Wycombe, Bucks. The Fusion 550 incorporates a unique six stage tube preamp paired with the same high current analog power amp utilized in our RB Series. The rich warmth of tubes combined with the quick, punchy power section that GK bass amps are known for is an experience like no other. In addition, GK takes the next step in innovation by adding motorized controls which allow you to store two different settings that can be recalled via the provided footswitch It’s 500 watts @ 4 Ohms with a 50watt Biamp Pre amp three tube 12AX7. Class G Amplification: This type of amplifier uses multiple power supply rails, switching between them based on the signal level to improve efficiency compared to a Class AB amp, while still offering good sound quality. Tube Preamp: The Fusion 550's preamp section uses vacuum tubes (specifically three 12AX7s) to shape the initial audio signal, contributing to the amp's warm and tube-driven tone. Hybrid Design: The combination of a tube preamp and a solid-state power amp is a hybrid approach, often found in bass amplifiers, providing a blend of warmth and power.
