  9. Imagine a banjo, an accordion, a bagpipe or the three of them instead... That day could have been Armageddon for you.
  10. Great find. Need to find a shop with great deals on strings. This site has some on Dunlop and sadowsky, looking for ghs and la bella also
  11. Cheers! Yeah, if I were still gigging regularly, I'd be clinging on to this amp. But I'll be keeping my Little B*ast*rd 30 for recording - probably my joint favourite with the CTM-100! - so I can't really justify keeping both of them.
  12. MARSHALL BB-2 Not to be confused with the original Bluesbreaker pedal, which was essentially a preamp-in-a-box - this is a dedicated, dual-mode overdrive pedal. "Boost" mode is a transparent-sounding clean boost, designed to push the front end of your amp harder, while "Blues" mode gives a much more shaped (and saturated!) tone, reminiscent of the original Bluesbreaker amps being dimed. I bought this pedal back in something like 2010. It was my main distortion effect for a while, and did a handful of gigs with me, but as I've experimented with new effects and different amps, I find myself using it less and less. I still have the original box and user's manual, which are a little worn in places (see pictures); the pedal itself is in excellent condition. Only one thing: the controls originally had black position indicators painted on them, which have mostly rubbed off over the years. Up to you whether you leave them as is, or paint some new ones on! Price includes postage to mainland UK. If you'd like it sent to a different country, drop me a PM. Open to sensible offers!
  13. For sale, my Octave Mandola OR Octave Mandolin (they are the same thing). Shorter scale than an Irish Bouzouki, this one is tuned GDAE in unison pairs (or courses). Condition is excellent, not quite mint and includes a nice TGI gig bag that is a perfect fit. Mandola is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) for local collection or I could deliver locally too. Could attempt uk posting but it isn't as solid as a bass so I'd be a bit wary of that.

  15. Thanks Geek, I do get down to Derbyshire a few times a month, so good to know.
  16. Wish I had the cash right now, but as I don’t I hope it’s still available when I do.
  17. Thanks Phil - the 2 x 12s at 21 kg apiece are actually an easier carry between them than a single 905. I actually did a bit of spec comparison across 8 different 15" active sub-woofers and interestingly the three that came top for me on £price, weight, SPL and reputation for quality were: Subwoofers - 15in active summary.pdf The overall winner on my personal criteria was Electro-Voice EKX-15SP. A mate of mine uses a pair of Electro-Voice EKX-12SP, and I'm wondering whether I can sub (excuse the pun!) those two 12" with a single 15". The RCF 905 AS-3 should definitely go on the list, too, and maybe will be a case of seeing which of those comes up in good condition used first!
  18. Thanks for doing that. G to B looks like 76mm from the shots. And the nut width also please? I'm expecting that to be about 46mm?
  19. Wow. That is amazing. I should get my backside in gear and list my Japanese P bass. Coz if I had the cash, I’d be buying this.
  20. Looks like it went back up to normal price after it sold out. It was showing as £70, so the code took it down to £63.
  21. Yeah could do but the filters do help shape the drive so it’s handy but yeah a spark might do the trick nicely. Worth a punt.
  22. 🎵 ‘It was 20 years ago today Happy Jack picked up a bass to play…’🎵 As Macca never sang, but should’ve. Congratulations on your anniversary, my friend!🎸
  23. As I understand it "a) " doesn't guarantee they're not fake. They're not from D'addario, they're from Amazon i.e. It's from an Amazon warehouse, hence it states "Shipper/seller:Amazon". Also, if another seller has sent a batch of fake strings to Amazon, then they will be mingled with the real ones from D'addario. You are not guaranteed to get the ones that D'addario sent to the warehouse. Personally, I've not had any problems and the players code checks out, but it is probably safest to buy from a reputable musical instrument retailer as their stock will be the genuine article.
