Nice one! Well done, sir.

What a shame - but I totally understand that set of emotions. Who knows, maybe you’ll love it when it arrives… I hope you do.

Thanks all for the responses and suggestions. The 5.8 is attractive so the Xvive and NUX make sense. I'll try to order both (Amazon) and can then work out which is the better performer for my needs. Latency times (official versions) are very similar at 5 and 5.5ms - important for me as I'd prefer to use wireless for recording if feasible. I'll get back with comments asap. Thanks again - much appreciated

Shame, sounds cool!

Do they not. ? Any tracking i've followed i could see every step of its journey. I've found parcelforce / Royal Mail to be pretty good in recent years too. Does make you worry a bit. I'd never send a bass or amp by post. I always go for collection only or meet up somewhere. If its a bass i'd prefer the buyer to try it at my house before parting with any money. Dave

In the past I've found that couriers manage to find things once they've been provided with a crime reference number after it's been reported to plod as theft.

Excellent news. One of the 3 basic rules for being in a band: turn up on time (or, in this case, turn up 🤦🏻).
-
They don't basically, which is what Mark is alluding to. I feel its likely someone in a Parcelforce uniform has a very good idea of where this ended up

Congratulations and well done John 😎

I've always wondered how any item can be lost especially larger items. Every package is scanned at every stage of its journey. Every destination or van/truck it gets scanned when arrives and scanned when despatched. It should be easy to find out what part of its journey it went "missing". Hopefully insurance covers it but better still it turns up in undamaged condition. Dave

Definitely this for me. Saw the Stranglers play Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1977 as a 16 year old violin player. Bought my first bass from the local classifieds the following week (a mid-1960's Kalamazoo KB1 for £25. I still have bits of it....) -
As the previous owner of this bass I’d like to add that it is a wonderful instrument. Great feel and piezo tone. I moved it on as it simply didn’t sit right on my body, I think it’s the short scale. I can genuinely say I’ve never wanted a bass to work out more than this one, I was very disappointed when I had to conclude that it was just not going to work for me. GLWTS

Great bass. I sold mine to make way for a Nordstrand Acinonyx. I have sold the Acinonyx too now. I have still got the a Sire U5 Fretless in the same finish as yours: another great bass, especially for the money. i miss the EHB but unfortunately Ibanez have discontinued the 4 string version and the new models, while being very pretty, have gone up considerably in price. I am sure they could still sell quite a few 4 strings but their marketing department obviously feels otherwise. Shame! - Today
