I wonder why so many string manufacturers offer 45-65-85-105 sets for 4-stringers but only 45-65-80-100-130(or 125) for fivers? To my taste .80 A and .100 E feel little wimpy and sound too soft. In many cases I need to buy a 5-string set plus a 4-string set to get optimal set since single strings are not available. For example my favourite EB cobalt flats I must purchase like this. What do You think is the manufacturers idea, do they believe that bass necks will bow or is the reason to sell more strings?

Is there an original version of Marley's Iron Lion Zion without all the posthumous production and overdubs? Heard it on the radio today and was amazed by how awful I thought it sounded. Would love to hear Bob's original if it exists.

One watt is the rate at which electrical work is performed when a current of one ampere (A) flows across an electrical potential difference of one volt (V). Period. -

Hello Terry, Having had a scout around this afternoon it would seem Marcus’s bass is an early Sadowsky 5 made sometime mid to late 1980’s. These versions had 21 frets, electronics wise they were fitted with Bartolini pickups and circuit. I think you’re spot on with ref to the headstock config, the 1990 Jazz bass plus which was the first modern 5 string bass from Fender had 5 inline tuners, as opposed to Sadowsky’s 4+1.

Except that this is not true for well designed amps, class D or otherwise.

IEM rigs work great for some players, doesn’t work at all for many players. It depends very much on the particular application and situation. I don’t like it where a player denigrates another player’s choices based on only their particular choice, even if that choice may not reflect the other player’s needs or situation.

I own a Producer backpack and I can put my HeadRush Core in one pocket and a huge laptop with a big A3 size book (yes A3) in the two inside "pockets" plus a volume control pedal in the side pocket, loads of cables and accessories in the front pocket, a smartphone in the other side pocket, ... so a lot of things. And it's easy to handle or wear on your back.
