  2. For vintage guitars ATB, No Tom, vintage and rare in Bristol, New Kings Road vintage and rare, classic and cool guitars, Charlie Chandler posts stuff on FB. For odds and sods I know of We Buy Any Guitar in Ashton under Lyne, guitar village in Surrey, promenade music in Morcombe. Guitar Guitar have shops dotted around too.
  3. Still in a quandary over this. Sounds wonderful but is more synth than I need (and I need the space (physical and mental) and funds).
  4. Similar size but around 10+kg lighter I would think
  5. Ibanez SRMS805 in brown burst. All original. Everything works exactly as it should. Really nice condition. Plays really nicely and sounds amazing. Price now dropped to £550
  6. PRICE DROP £120 Well known top rated synth pedal with separate Bass/guitar switch. Fantastic pedal if you are looking for synth sounds. Only ever used at home, all original box and mint condition. Open to collection or can meet and great as i travel a-lot at work, so please feel free to ask. (not south east/west)
  7. This must be a serious contender for the lightest bass on BC !
  8. I’ve not seen any get under 8lb. That’s why I have 2 Superlights!
  9. Who converted it to a 5 string as it looks like Golia made it a 4.

  11. Beautiful bass and an absolute bargain for a handmade British bass. If I had the funds it would be mine. My old French bass is strung with Chorda’s so bowing plain gut is proving a challenge though Paul Chambers, Major Holly, Slam Stewart and Edgar Meyer make a glorious sound their gut stringed instruments. (I had some lessons with Ben Wolfe and he told me Edgar played his Chorda strung bass and it sounded fantastic).
  12. This is my current preamp and practice tool of choice, its absolutely fantastic.
  13. That's really handy info, thanks for sharing! I've been thinking about popping a fresh valve in my ABM Evo ii too. You've just saved me a lot of research! Watford valves also do a high gain version of the JJ ECC83S. I wonder if that would be safe to use and produce a different type of grind/drive in this setting.
  14. Interesting, so the valve drive control is essentially a blend knob? I'm interested to run the valve drive at max and back off the input gain to see if it gives a clean tubey sound. I was kind of worried I'd degrade the tube quickly if I did that, but from the sounds of it, it would probably last longer as the amount of drive would be less, because my input gain is less
  15. Ahh finally the Thomastik infeld jazz rounds have come off my bass, a set of short scale Fender rounds have taken there place, bass no longer sounds like it is being played with the tone rolled off, I know some people love TI rounds but definitely not for me.

  16. Here’s an independent shop in a small English city, run by some good guys trying hard to keep going in the internet world, and being very supportive of local musicians. https://fouldsguitars.com
  17. Just picked up a bass from Sam in Brighton and it was a tip-top A1 transaction. Really enjoyed meeting up and having a big bass geek chatfest! Always great/worrying to hang out with people as obsessed as I am… Would be delighted to deal with again. Cheers!!!
  18. I've added the weight now 🙂 11.2lbs or 5kg according to a brand new set of bathroom scales
  19. Yep, in order to keep the audience attention we now do gigs with three bands... a Hendrix tribute, a Jimmy Smith tribute and a soul/blues cover band. The fact all three bands have the same musicians in them is just a coincidence. If we put on different wigs for each set I reckon we could charge management 3 times!
