  2. You can use y splits - but folk prefer not to because it can lead to impedance mismatch, increased signal noise but most notably, they don’t limit phantom power - which can have a habit of breaking things which shouldn’t be in the receiving end of it…
  3. Yes - done the grain dye thing. He is right
  4. I tried going low-key and showing off the wood. Didn’t end well…
  5. Anyone managed to find a set of five string flats in medium scale? Other than the £95 Jim Dunlops...😮
  6. Selling my Micro pedalboard setup. Nothing wrong with them, I just realised that as much I like how they sound vs my Stomp XL, I prefer the convenience of presets for my function work. 7. Brilliant! Thanks, it's time to see what an 8 coil stingray sounds like!
  8. Hey all. Update to the thread. So, I got the chance to try out a new prototype cab from @stevie. It’s wonderful, very capable for an 8” cab. The driver for me for trying it out was having the Everse 8 distort a lot when I pushed it a lot harder on one recent busking gig. I was asking too much of it - outdoors, no walls nearby, playing with a drummer on a portable kit - but I realised that I want to step up my power/speaker size. When I compare directly to the LFSys 8” prototype. I now appreciate more cabinet resonances when I turn the Everse up loud. I think this is because it is a composite cab, and also not as well braced as the LFSys cab. There’s no contest for me. Having the prototype LFSys 8” cab to compare to the Everse shows how much better having a dedicated, properly braced, rigid bass cab sounds at high volume. I’ve sold the Everse 8 and accepted that what I need for busking is more speaker size and power. I did a lot of testing out of portable camping batteries and the Jackery Explorer 300+ is where I landed. I’ve solved a significant EMI noise problem with that, and will simply use my well used B-Amp with an LFSys cab and the Jackery. I accept better/louder sound will now need a bigger carry - so got my luggage trolley back out. I now await an LFSys Goodwood 10” with great anticipation.
  9. I don't quite follow the economic argument about prices having to go up with scale? I see Pirate's business model being more akin to Weatherspoons vs local boozers. Becoming national hasn't meant Spoons' prices increasing.
  10. These are awesome cabs, I’ve got a couple of the 8ohm versions, been using them for a good 5 years and they’ve never let me down. GLWTS
  11. Trades? Something might get my attention!

  13. We can practise for free in my guitarist's shed for free. I quite like it in there. It's cramped but cosy and has a fun vibe!
  14. I brought this a couple of months ago and have never used it. I paid £35 for it, so grab yourself a bargain at £12. Postage will be on top or you are free to collect it from near Settle. North Yorkshire. Trades welcome for something interesting. A 59 Strat would be very interesting It's a Levin leather strap. One side is brown leather and the other side is suede so it doesn't slip. It's 154cm/59" long and can be shortened using slots at the back. Its 6.5cm/2.5" (ish) wide I have no idea how to describe the adjustment any better The middle bit The end adjustable bit The back of the end adjustable bit The other end (for the hard of understanding)

  15. I think this is an underrated opinion. A lot of people go "ooooh I like that bass, I'll just put my strings on it, get it set up to my usual action, put the EMGs that I like in it... etc etc". Just stick with what you've got then. I'm kicking myself for changing my SB2 to VVT. No tone control is part of what makes that bass unique, even if it is a weird quirk.
  16. Only the A string is left now. Plus the slightly older D and G in my other listing. the D and G in this listing have now gone.
  17. 2 months of use from new on only one bass. The D string is practically perfect £45. The G string is a bit unraveled just where the trying has been wound around the tuning peg. The playing part of the string is perfect, but due to the imperfection at the top £25. Posted to the UK Thank you for looking. PS - I’ll probably post another D and G and also A in the next couple of days. they are only a month old so they will be a bit more expensive.
  18. Forgot to mention the added bonus of through body stringing.
  19. That’s a cool little bass.
  20. Thanks for the nice comments ladies and gents!
  21. Both the Dwarf and the ME-90B seem to do the same, and it is hard to shield the RF on the receiver.
