  2. I can definitely see an obsession building. Scratch plate? Pah! That's 100g of dead weight with the screws! If I bought a large I could mill up a titanium string tree and save 3 grams.
  3. Sweets for my Sweet - The Drifters / The Searchers
  4. I don't know anything about their basses but I think when I was a Student in the early 80s, I used to eat their boil-in-th-bag curries.
  5. Bought a Glockenklang preamp from Andrew. As above, sent next day delivery, well packaged. Great comms, top notch deal!
  6. It's been a whole week so it's time for some more Dave Holland. The complete bass performance of the Kevin Eubanks tune 'The Watcher' from the 2013 album, 'Prism' that features Holland, Eubanks, Eric Harland on drums and Craig Tabor on piano. A wonderfully grungy sounding quartet with a real edge in terms of the compositions. Fairly demanding this time as the tempo is fairly quick and the lines fairly unpredictable and the time signatures are constantly moving. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-watcher-dave-holland/
  7. You are probably right, but My bank manager's too tight.
  8. I might be able to get up your way before Christmas so will give you a shout 👍
  9. There you go. Exactly the same apart from I've removed the thumb rest.
  10. Today
  11. I literally can't think of a better way of settling the issue! 😅
  12. PRICE REDUCTION - £25 shipped or £20 pickup in person. Hi Folks, Flyht Pro 1U Rack Drawer 27.5cm wide x 25cm deep for sale. I bought this directly from Thomann as B-Stock and had overlooked its dimensions so I immediately tried to return it to them but they just issued me a refund as it wasn't worth the environmental impact of shipping it across Europe, apparently. I didn't even screw it in once during its time with me so it appears to be completely brand new to my eyes. Nice smooth action on the drawer. You're welcome to come and pick it up IRL from Petersfield, Hampshire, England or I can ship it to you for an extra £5 (which would be a total of £25). Happy to meet you somewhere local to Petersfield or arrange a fuel contribution from you if you need it driving a little further. Feel free to fire over any questions you may have. Cheers, B
  13. Amazing, do you have any more pictures?
  14. https://www.instagram.com/mikemcclellanmusic?igsh=Y3g1aXAza2loNDZw This guy put a CV Jaguar neck on a blue one and i soooo want to do the same! Where would you source a 32" rosewood+blocks neck? I am keeping an eye out on a blue Jag now...
  15. Icing Sugar - The Cure
  16. I have one exactly like yours which I bought about 25 years ago for around £30, I think. Had to tinker with it a little to lower the action slightly but I gigged it a few times and it never let me down. In fact, I'm having a noodle on it right now and it feels and sounds really good. Definitely made in Korea, mine has a sticker confirming the fact!
  17. Aye, chap bought it at Guitar Guitar and sold it the following week. Go figure.
  18. Great basses. This one looks really cool too. GLWTS.
  19. MY OWN PRIVATE RIOT 2008-2015 Extensive 7CD boxset following the career of English singer-songwriter Thea Gilmore, covering her recordings from 2008 to 2015. With sleeve notes by Record Collector's Daryl Easlea describing the making of this collection of albums, housed in a box this is the perfect starting point for anyone interested in her career. RRP £43. Yours, new and still sealed, for £26 posted.
  20. 9 VDC from a PSU is power, from a battery not so. Such a battery can push 300 - 500 mA for a pretty short time. Capacity is up to 800 mAh if the current is low, like under 10 mA. Raise the draw and the capacity will be lower. Current draw while the unit is ON is one thing. But during power up phase a pedal may draw substantial amount of current. Digital units are usually worse than analog ones. If the current draw in the power up phase is very high, the battery most likely is not able to push adequate current to the unit.
  21. I’m up against mr travis and his all-consuming GEAR maw no chance, I see that bass being dragged to a Manchester address, probably leaving scratch marks on the pavement as it is sucked in like some poor dachshund caught in a wizard of Oz style tornado Briefly. 😛 I Wish I could buy this. GLWTS
  22. Can you post pics of your control & pickup cavities and your wiring? Are you able to check that the shielding is continuous with a multimeter, also using the multimeter to check that everything in the loom that should be grounded is also continuous? I can post some info on how to do this, but if you prefer to be hands-off, take the bass back to your luthier and tell him it is still humming.
