If you consider the actual history (rather than the press release version) of what Sabbath has been as an institution and, indeed, as a business then it's a bit harder to get sentimental about them calling it a day. There's been an awful lot of water under that bridge and the four original members are far more business associates than friends. I'm really glad it went so well, though. It could easily have been an ignominious end for one of Britain's truly great bands. If you asked me what was the most influential British band of all time I would say the Beatles. If you asked me who was the second most influential I would say Black Sabbath. Look at the worldwide popularity of heavy metal/heavy rock music year after year, decade after decade, generation after generation. Sabbath made that mould, and no one has ever bettered them.

Good circuit design I've no doubt. It would introduce a battery and although the battery last 800 hrs, 200 of them will be struggling, and I have no battery access compartment. Passive. Yep. Def passive

Reviving this thread! What model of case is this in? I have one and im desperately scrabbling for a case that'll fit it

That was the original reason I have used that in few of my basses. Simple blend pot cuts highs and with a vol they change the sound.

Once again, another very good 'u-he' VSTi Synth, previously only available from Computer Music magazine, but now a free download direct from 'u-he'. Although, the smaller brother of bad boy 'Bazille', it still offers plenty of tweaking along with plenty of well-crafted presets (265): BazilleCM: Little modular monster | u-he

I was rather bemused when my son told me there was a pedal-sized parcel for me today. I knew I hadn’t ordered anything as I’ve been having to tighten my purse strings due to impending major change of circumstances. I was therefore completely taken by surprise to find this incredibly lovely gesture and gift when I opened the box: Folks, this was totally unexpected and unnecessary, nevertheless I want to express my profound gratitude to the anonymous benefactors who were kind enough to do this. Thank you! My faith in humanity has been given a much needed boost after the kicking it’s been getting lately. ❤️- 1 reply

Production Tools. MT Power 2 drums - Donation ware - 120bpm Little wooden Bajolele, Double tracked and panned stereo (SM57). Claps - Hands x 4, (SM 57) panned wide layered with centre clap sample Guitar - Budget Jackson V with Schaller hot vintage neck humbucker into Line 6 virtual plexi and 4 x 12. Bass - Spector with EMG-SSD passive with real solder bobbles - compressed. Synthesizer - Xfer Serum - played on PC keyboard . Line 6 USB1 audio interface - Pentium 2nd Gen PC - Ableton 9. I already recorded the ukes a few months back, so built a track using them. The image drew me to imagine a futuristic fairground organ style circus sound. Happy tune with running bass, side snare and clapping. Key of C, the happiest key. I can't really say I wrote the tune, more fitted together a load of typical musical clichés, and probably some nursey rhymes and music I've probably heard before, until I had a big happy futuristic showbiz extravaganza. I had fun making it. Left it a bit sloppy too because it seems to work like that? Very different to what I usually make.

Thank you. I looked up Mixpot. Tidy solution and other good things. Good to know. I have decided to stick with passive though. I like the sound this bass makes. I might only upgrade the pots and wiring as per factory setup, and stick with that. Having got to know this Spector a bit, it has so much mid range on the bridge pickup, I don't have to find it with other tricks. Stands out in the mix no problem.

Possible arthritis in my fingers - any help or experience?
WalMan replied to jonnybass's topic in General Discussion
My right hand fingers have twisted which makes keyboards difficult as all the fingers get in the way of each other. Fingers to pick on the bass is ok though little finger tends to get ignored as twisted too far a slightly shorter, as is the index finger by a bit over quarter of an inch than the left hand after the first knuckles (hand to finger rather than second or third on the finger) were replaced 10+ years ago. if I had to have the same replacement on my left hand I would as it worked/works well on the right hand.
