  3. For sale is my 1989 fretless Fender Japan JB-62 Jazz bass. This is a super reluctant sale as this was always a dream bass for me and being a fairly early Japanese Fender, it's also quite special. However, I'm starting to let some basses go and this sadly is first in line. The bass plays beautifully and is in excellent condition with a wonderful rosewood neck. Will also come with a Fender soft case and the tort pickguard. Based in Camberley and trial and collection is welcome. Can be shipped at buyers cost.
  4. Selling due to lack of use. Band I was going to use it in folded quickly. Fantastic pedal, very versatile and even more so with the Disaster area pedal allowing you easily switch through multiple settings. Barely used and with original boxes. Free stomp toppers if you want them, Velcro on bases but easily removed. Bargain for both £180 collected from Plymouth or £10 postage within the UK.
  5. Sold Luke some patch cables this week. Lovely to deal with and paid instantly. Recommended Basschatter! Simon
  6. You've got me digging my TC Mojo back out. I had been going with a DIY JPTR Jive for some colour but just tried them together and I think it'll be staying this way for a bit.
  7. Interested your a long way from me ever go to London
  8. Clarky bought my TE-1200. Faultless transaction, a pleasure to deal with 👍
  9. Always had great experiences with Ashdown, going back to when I had my first ABM in 2003. I've had several of them since, and on the rare occasions they proved not to be completely bulletproof, they've always been fantastic in either replacing or repairing them, and doing it quickly. And Dave has always been very responsive.

  13. How do I find old photos to delete when I don’t know what posts/topics they’re on?
  14. Waiting on those pics …
  15. Can't help with the schematics but as a temporary work around drop the volume to zero before engaging the EQ.
  16. So new (to me) bass day, a rather nice Sandberg SL. Been looking for one for a while due to back issues and when I saw this up for grabs, in my favoured black/black/maple it just had to be. Just played it for about an hour and even without being set up as I like, and without my favoured Elixirs (currently has Elites steel rounds) it’s simply a dream to play. Not usually a fan of matching headstocks but I think it really suits it, plus - and shows my levels of OCD - it matches our guitarists Ibanez like this so I’m more than happy. I’m giving up gigging so this will be used at home and with my non-gigging classic rock band, this 6lb bass will make 4hr rehearsals a lot easier.
  17. For me the standout Ozzy performance is War Pigs on the Paranoid album. I can still remember the first time I ever heard that song on my record player when I was ten years old. My nephew bought that album on vinyl recently and he's thirteen. That's a time gap of going on for fifty years and he's into Sabbath just like I was. Black Sabbath are still the best to ever do that style of music. No one can get near them, even after all that time. Ozzy might (quite understandably) have been a bit shaky at the final gig but the rest of them were still a formidable unit. As far as I'm concerned they are one of Britain's greatest ever exports and something to be proud of.
  18. Wanted to try one of these for years, and talking to @Sean the other day only fueled the fire more! If my Orange OBC112s sell I'll probably be in touch.
  19. Poor Old Steve Howe looks like he turned up for the wrong gig but they let him play anyway.
  20. Prodding a nest of vipers there. Which of the three versions of the riff do YOU think is correct? 🙂 Arte you with Duane Eddy and ELP? The Ventures, Blues Brothers and Henry Mancini? Or Jimi Hendrix and the Art of Noise?
  21. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
  22. Not bad. It's very Stranglers.
  23. Well it 4:4 breaks down into two simple parts D C G D for the verse. A simple walk on root notes but playing some passing notes such as c-b-g and g-b-d will lift it up. Maybe slide up from a to d at the start of each time round. Use the rhythm of the guitar strumming. For the chorus just go between d and a. Actually, this bassline isn't a bad fit for most of it in terms of not choices! https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/small-faces/all-or-nothing-official-3951920
  24. 600 quid. You get a discount on the tools too My luthier that I've always used has retired now, although he still does a few jobs for his mates (I have a neck reset that needs doing on my hofner) I have decided it can't be that hard I understand how to level frets and know that they have to be crowned after levelling. May as well learn to remove frets, plane the board and fit new ones etc you can buy tools that show you when the neck is dead straight, so you can start levelling etc Crimson guitars down Dorset way
